help i accidentally shipped an etsy order through letter mail on the 21st ;-; I didn't even know about this until today. google said the fines can be costly, am i going to be fined? it was just stickers through letter mail :/
And why hasn't etsy given me any notice about this? Seems like something they should have to notify people about. How are we supposed to know otherwise? They can't just count on social media influences informing everyone
My toy company on Etsy had issues for YEARS with Europe, even though our toys were tested and certified by multiple safety agencies. We stopped selling our products overseas because I got tired of my listings getting deactivated. I'm sorry to hear this is issue is only getting worse :(. Thanks for the information!
I have seen a lot of people talking about this and obviously concerned about it, but I am from Spain (so inside the EU) and I just don't find information about if it affects me too or how it could affect me... Do you know anything about it or where to find it? It would help me a lot... Thank you ☺️
I'm also a digital seller from Spain! There's no info anywhere about anything 😅😅 I highly doubt EU will apply this new regulations to people selling pdfs, as it seems it's more geared towards softwares. I guess we'll need to wait for some clarifications from the EU. Not ideal, but it is what it is 🤷♀️
The EU rules apply to all EU countries. So the rules apply to you for anything that you sell to EU customers. It affects you as much as anyone else 1) You must have an official EU representative based in the EU, 2) You must comply with all the safety and documentation requirements for every product you sell. There are very few exceptions of products that were not previously highly regulated anyway like food, medicine, cosmetics.
Ugh this sucks so bad! I sell digital. Now I have to check each order's location? Bad! My digital products are Instant Digital Downloads. How do I cancel something if someone download it already? :(
I live in the EU and this sucks so much. I sculpt as a hobby and sell some so I can buy more clay. Now with this it just made my hobby so much more difficult.
Cancelling a digital order is only viable if the buyer has not already downloaded the files. This seems like an easy fix to block purchases from eu IP addresses. Maybe someone with a better understanding of technology could comment on the viability of this
All of my digital files are Instant Download. (PNG Files in a Zip Folder) People usually download them very quickly after purchase. I don't see how this is fair.
@handmadeandbeyond replay done, you are right, now I understand, English is not my language and sometimes it's hard for me to follow you without subtitles...thanks any way. Regards
@T-or4vb..so you were able to remedy the perceived issue, but still feel like you had to complain, without even showing gratitude for the video you watched for free. Needlessly rude.
EU market is DOA for 2025 for small handmade sellers everywhere.
