Let me know what you think of the end result. I forgot to mention in the video, but this entire remodel, which gave the bathroom an whole new look, cost me less than $500. The new mirrors where a little less than $200 each from Home Depot. Also, I included chapter markers for those who want to skip ahead. Good luck on your projects!
It really turned out great! I’m wondering how you got the tar off of the drywall side. I would think the wd40 would not work like it did on the tile. Did you end up having to mud and sand the drywall?
Thanks! The tar actually came off easier on the drywall side. I didn’t use WD40 there. In some cases it came off by heating it more and scraping it and then it was pretty smooth against the wall. Other times I pulled off the top layer of drywall along with it, so I had to use some mud in those spots. I had to repaint that wall obviously but it wasn’t a big area.
Safety wise, you should’ve had Kevlar like apron on because mirror can sometimes pop and fall And you could almost lose a leg like the man did who was putting in my big mirror at my house. His artery was cut and he almost lost his life and what a mess. He had been installing and taking down mirrors all his life. He had forgotten his apron that day he said. So sad. I still like watching your videos though.
Thanks for the tip. Yes, it’s like a tar asphalt-style construction adhesive. I’ve also heard Citrol works but I only had the WD-40 around the house and it worked well.

An endoscope would help locate the glue spots a bit faster?

This glue almost looks like tar, I have tried citrol 266 on my vehicle to remover road tar and it was amazing, Not sure if it would be any good here
