- This is my fountain pen review of a beautiful Montblanc Meisterstück 146 Legrand with a stering silver cap. This wonderful fountain pen is an elegant classic and an all time favorite of mine.
Gorgeous pen, at an amazing price! What a find!!
Thank you! I am a lucky person. It is a luxury writing instrument and I love it.
I've always had trouble warming up to the smaller Meisterstucks, having owned Diplomat/149 size pens for 48 years. This review has changed my mind about the 146. Thanks for widening my horizons.
Thank you for your view! Sometimes it is better to try for yourself different versions and dimensions because you never know what suits you till you try it.
A beautiful pen at a wonderful price! So glad you can have it in your collection.
Thank you! I really appreciate it! 🙂
Wow. Great pen and fantastic price.
Thank you! 🙂
Yes. I love it! I can't believe I own it! 😮
I only recently acquired Montblancs. Now I understand. Your Pen Karma is fabulous because you share your experiences with us. Congrats!
Thank you! I like to share everything related to fountain pens to my RUclips audience including the prices I pay for them. I like to help people and I share also my mistakes hoping that others will not repeat them.
I do agree with Mr. Bogdan, "You can't go wrong with a Montblanc 146". 👍
Yes. The Montblanc Meisterstück 146 is a classic and a true "work horse" in my opinion.
A truly beautiful pen. The silver cap reminds me of the Zeppelin. Classic German design.
You are right! Till now I associated the Zeppelin with the Diplomat Aero Factory fountain pen.
Thank you sir, I did now got one but with Blue Hour nib.
Hello. Using another ink brand in a Montblanc won't spoil the pen?
In my opinion no. It won't spoil the pen. But you can use a type of ink similar to the original Montblanc ink just to be safe. It is an expensive pen and the service is expensive too. So you should take care of it.
So beautiful pen! Let me know some day if you are selling this one! :D
An 18 kt gold nib doesn't contain 250 gof gold ,it contains 750 gram of gold like 149, though 146 doesn't contains an l8 kt nib because it is a no. 6 size nib.
We are not talking about grams. The 750 is a percentage. The metal alloy containes 750 gold from a total of 1000. The rest of 250 are other metals.
And yes the nib of a 149 is bigger than the nib of a 146.
