As a darksteel main I would have to agree and disagree due to how the crit works. The crit is about 3 seconds of windup before it lands meaning you can get a few m1s and either parry roll or use a ragdoll mantra. Due to the lack of darksteel users most people are not used to the crit and don't realize its high risk high reward
as a dsgs glazer it should probably not allow you to begin the windup of the crit *during* stun cause getting hit with certain moves like grabs can guarantee you land a crit on your opponent, but other than that it's not likely to get changed
The crit being usable as an “evasive” is pretty dumb but I assume they justify it by having a fat windup, unlike forge greathammer which had a relatively quick windup.

most of the time i use the crit more as a combo extender (i am a heavy main) so i dont really need weapons that use hyper armour, although it is nice, i would prefer weapons with high scaling and high base dmg
Yea the greatsword is good and regardless of how tanky (Good hp kit bc build making tankyness is 20% build 80% Hp kit) which is "meh" almost every build can be good with a good hp kit and reach almost 570 hp, anyways ALMOST every wep is viable and those "Strongest" and "Best build" videos are kinda clickbait specially if the build in question is some sort of jetstricker/Heavy build so yea.

Althought you are right if you look at the logs channels. Deepcrusher once had True Hyper Armor. Which was removed with the nerfs.

The first term you shouldve used is superarmor, not hyperarmor, darksteel greatsword's crit is hyperarmor.
