Taking it later tonight for the first time. I'm so nervous. I've never not had terrible sleep due to nightmares and they are just getting worse. It's destroying my sanity. Never been on anything other than anxiety meds. Wish me luck!
@@Windpuppy123 I Know!! I took my first last night too. I wasnt happy being taken off of ambien. I did not have much faith in this. So, I took it with 2 otc sleeping pills. I slept great, and have no memory of my dreams at all. Im shocked! I dont know if this is a new game changer for me, or just a fluke. Ive been on ambien a long time.
@@Windpuppy123 I ended up getting a random very weird side effect where my sinuses got so bad I could breathe at all through my nose so it made it harder to sleep in general. I found seroquel since then, not for nightmares but to help me sleep and it knocks me out so good i dont remember my dreams hehe
@@iamapotatochip4243That kinda makes sense because phenylephrine, a drug which selectively agonises(promotes) alpha 1 receptors is sprayed in the nose for decongestion whereas prazosin inhibits the very same receptor.
Works wonders for me. I have sevear nightmares to where I would die . jump off cliffs and they would affect me all day. They put me on this and it has worked wonders.
Same, I was scared to go to sleep before starting prazosin because of how bad my nightmares were. I vented to my counselor about how bad they were and said to ask my doctor about the medication. Slowly worked up to 10mg a night. I still occasionally get nightmares, just not as bad or as often. I still vividly dream. I absolutely hated how the nightmares affected me all day, I know how that feeling sucks!
I have had many nightmares of my dad breaking my nose, breaking my face through mirrors and walls, as well as other people. I also have PTSD from an actual assault. Would this be something you wouls say this could help?
I must be the only poor fucker who had negative effects from this. My nightmares increased when I started it, caused sleepwalking issues many times I'd wake up while sleep walking feeling terrified from the dreams. At this point just knock me out with propofol
Taking prazosin for ptsd. I miss lucid dreams, but being free from constant nightmares is worth it

@@MCostanza47 it works very good. It helps me sleep along with my sleep meds and no nightmares anymore. This medicine has been a relief to my ptsd.

What HS in "25mg HS" ?
What about it's use in cases of insomnia?
Fascinating drug. Thanks for covering it so thoroughly. Can you post a link to the lecture on sleep?
