Well, this is weird... I'm looking at a 1980 Hunter 33 Cherubini to buy. And, you just happen to have awesome videos for the same freaking boat! I'm so stoked! You, sir, have a new subscriber.
Enjoy the Boat my Brother. Must of the men in my family in the south have boats they are a lot of fun. Living in New Jersey you will have so many places to take your boat. I live in Sayreville 45% of the people that live here have boats. I do not have one myself but I have been on many small boats and I can't swim :). I am very happy for you. That is what life is about living your best life. Enjoy the rest of your week. Peace. :)
Hi Matt, congratulations from Bellingham WA. I’ve bought and fixed up several old sailboats…………always fun being on the boat, even in the slip. Found you cause of watching Plucky. Good on ya mate!!
Oh Wow! Thank you. I will be needing all the help I can get. All suggestions are welcome LOL I am enjoying the journey. Plucky is one cool dude! Wish we could have hung out longer. Thanks again.
Princess! I appreciate your comment. I was going back and forth with should I start a new channel or continue to combine food, travel and sailing adventure. Thank You
@@MattDV i think you should keep this channel and do all of the above. I love this channels travel and food. My channel has a little of cooking, recipes hauls etc. So please continue to grow this channel. I will support you by watching and sharing you out.
Don't know if you figured it out yet. Flip the oscillating tool blade over. you'll see what I mean when you do it. Thanks for keeping an eye on Plucky😎 Good luck with your boat!
Matt ... How come you had to go all the way to Rhode Island to buy a boat from Forked River? I guess you could live on anything, but 33 feet is a little tight for a live-aboard. Where you gonna keep it? Newark Bay? Be careful with that tool. You'd be surprised how easy it is to go right through your fiberglass. You need Jade from Expedition Evans to help you. www.youtube.com/@ExpeditionEvans Look at their early vids. She did almost all the work re-doing their 50 footer. Too bad they're in Guatemala right now. Call me. I can help, if we can sail on it together next summer.
Thanks Jeff. I purchased the boat in Brick NJ. I keep it in South Jersey at the Marina. I saw a few of Expedition Evans thanks. I'm all over sailing UMA, and Wildly Intrepid who has a boat like mine. I will take another look at your suggestions. THANK again.
I saw you taking around Plucky and want to check your channel out. I have been watching sailing videos for about a year now. I really like your backstory and am going to follow you for a while. The videos need more music and screen cuts or something to make them more entertaining. Mixing in a few drown shots too, would be helpful. A first sailboat out of Newark or somewhere near there, learning to sail, etc., can make for a great channel. Keep up the good work! I am subscribed and looking forward to following your journey!
I'm planning to alternate food and then sailboat videos weekly. (Two- videos a week) Then then the videos will merge when I launch the boat and get underway.
New subscriber awesome boat, baby it and it will look after you I don't need to tell you as you were in the Navy the ocean given the weather turns boys into men and thats a fact.. Hurricane season is starting up so subscribe to Mr. Weatherman on youtube and everything else. When you have a boat in the water is Rather Rapidly grows barnacles and seaweed below the water line meaning that every so often (did I say often) you will need to jump in the water and scrape the bottom so you will need a mask, snorkel, fins and a hard plastic and metal blade paint scraper to scrape the bottom of the boat, you would start with the hard plastic one while growth is minimal until you feel you need the metal (if you use a cheap pair of gloves you wont scrape your knuckles) oh also get a hard bristle brush (not metal) so that you can brush seaweed off the waterline as it grows. Its going to be awesome
Such a small world watched this the other day now seen you on sailing into freedom cool stuff, off to look at a hunter 23.5 myself so will watch you with interest from the other side of the pond.
