- Food is an important factor in getting into the Christmas spirit! So what do German Christmas markets have to offer? We sent our reporter Aisha Sharipzhan to the Christmas market in Bremen, Northern Germany to find out. There, she not only tried the usual classics such as mulled wine and gingerbread, but also some other specialties, from sweet to savory.

Bultwurst mit bissem rotkohl.
Besides eating them, Making Tamales with my Mother & any one else that helps.....it definitely helps when more than 1 or 2 people makes them especially when making over 4 dozen of Tamales....I also get to make my own recipe for day after Christmas Breakfast Tamales of Chorizo & Cheese ❤❤❤❤❤
Fruitcake 😃
The Christmas markets are so fun, if you can swing it it’s so worth a trip!
Thank you to everyone at #DWFood for all your videos and education. I really appreciate videos when we get to see the people out celebrating local holiday (and how the do it). I do think we need a few videos on bratwurst ; ) All the best to the entire team over the holidays and may everyone have a healthy, happy, and successful 2024.
Thanks for the kind words and watching our videos! And we are sure we can do something about Bratwurst in 2024 ;)
I wish I could visit a Christmas market.
Our German class loves and would love to try Schmalz pufferl, Schneeballen, und Marzipan Kartoffeln. Great video!!
Bratwurst, some of the sweet foods and one Glühwein is all you need for a perfect christmas market trip in germany. Btw Grünkohl with Pinkel is a traditional dish in northern germany. It may looks not so good, but it´s a real soulfood and one of my favorite traditional dishes in germany. You may also look for "Spekulatius" in germany. It´s a special cookie just made for the christmas time.
MARAVILLOSO
The foods that truly evoke the Christmas spirit for me are, of course, the Yule ham-a festive centerpiece. I indulge in the comforting taste of meatballs, served with rich brown sauce made from meat stock, complemented perfectly by tangy lingonberry jam. Then, there's the diverse array of flavored pickled herring, a true tradition. Pairing crispy crispbread with the delectable Västerbotten cheese is a joy. And who could resist the saffron buns or the spicy gingersnaps with a cup of glögg? Care to take a guess at my heritage?

"Vår Julskinka har rymt", det tycker vi är grymt! von unsere lieblingsdeutschen Werner & Werner.
"Inte bara Glögg" Genever rimmar så bra på bäver.
Well, salmon is not particularly from Finland. Most in Germany is probably imported from Scotland or Norway
In Tuebingen I only saw everyday food from india , Falafel and grilled Sausages. Plus one of the worst Gluehwein ever, it was like tea with some wine.
Thankfully another sales man had proper Glühwein which is still quite a step down from Glögg.
im craving a hearty bratwurst
bremen xmas 2024 for me then? or does anyone recommend another city. i want to EAT
Great video but, where are all the people?
Have you checked between the sofa pillows
Where’s the leeks in cheese sauce, the parsnips, the bread sauce and the courgettes? I take it that the Christmas Pudding will be the next video.

What??? its not TNT and gunpowder ?
Well there is bratwurst in the US, it's called a hotdog!
No. "Hot dogs" are either Wieners (Austrian variety) or Frankfurters (German variety). We have Bratwursts in the U.S., very good ones, even. They are a mainstay in much of the Midwest ("barbecue" is often what you call it in summer when you're grilling brats). Beer and brats is a massive part of Wisconsin culture - from the German immigrants.
In Germany, there's a disrespectful practice of referring to black people as "chocolates," which is undeniably racist. It's not a form of honoring individuals; instead, it reduces them to an offensive stereotype, likening them to "hot chocolate." This practice is unequivocally racist.
I don't see where that's racist. Chocolate is a nice sweet delicacy, in contrast we Germans are called potatoes or by the Americans "Krauts" based on our eating habits which is much less charming, people with rly light skin might be called " Toastbrot", I am both German and rly pale and find neither racist. Maybe in context it might be

I can assure you that people in Germany are insensitive and rough to everyone equally
