@ 17:01 got confusing, as well as the colors being used and calling it 2 powers when it is 1 ground and 1 power, as you corrected. Is this right… if I were to color code it and make it easier? @ 18:53 22 gauge - Black - middle of blue 3 pin to ring connector for ground 18 gauge - Black - spot 7 on new 12 pin to ring connector for ground 18 gauge - Red - spot 9 on new 12 pin to fuse tap for power (as you replied to @slinslim in the comments saying 9 is the power) (I have a 2011 e90 so Fuse 5 is what we tap into with the fuse tap)
Yes, I'm sorry for any confusion. Either Black or Brown (which BMW uses) may be better for both ground wires. Please let me know if you have any more questions! Also, I have a newer version of this video (on an other car) that smooths out some details and is meant more specifically for people that already have some knowledge of both the car and wiring procedures. Thanks!
thanks for the catch! pin 9 from the clockspring connection (part #61136954518) goes to the fuse tap, while pin 7 goes to ground. no, there was no coding, and no resetting anything. I believe that the only thing that is missing using this retrofit that is not OEM is possibly the integration of the thermometer, that I have been told changes the temperature of the steering wheel if it is sub-zero (Fahrenheit); and i'm not sure if it is possible on the 1 series anyway, since they were never made with this mod. thanks!
I Appreciate the offer, but I live in the U.S. Midwest. If you'd like to attempt it yourself though, if you get all of the parts together, we could jump on a video call even so I could guide you through it further :)

Around 54:00, which one of the red wires from the 12 pin connector is going into the fuse tap? And did you need to code something, or reset something?

@@greezysgarage okay thank u. I want to do this retrofit as well, so need to know the details haha
Let me know if you need any more help! I have a business email in my about section if you have more detailed questions as well.
Good job bud. Very straight forward. Looking forward to retrofitting this on my 06 330i. And do you live in Canada?
Thanks! No, I live in Michigan.
Hey dude
Where do you live?? Can i pay you to do this. My mechanic won't attempt this and i dont trust him lol
Dont mind paying for your fuel if you come to me in Surrey.
