I always love the comedic yet informative oration! This is a great little package with everything needed for glamping without the associated issues of pulling a full size trailer.
Informative and entertaining and I’m not easily entertained, heh. I just (last week of July 2022) pulled my a213hw from Palm Springs, CA to Monterey Bay to Medford, OR, Portland OR and then Seattle, WA in an ‘07 Dodge Nitro with tow package and 188,000+ on the odometer. Someone dropped a full sized spare right in front of us at 60mph. I had no time to fully avoid it so it hit the sidewall of the passenger tire, took out my running board but luckily, only a little scuffing to the trailer. Just north of Portland, another unknown item fell out in front of us causing me to swerve sharply to avoid it. Finally, at JBLM there was very hard braking required due to an accident on I-5. At 2,800+ miles and those three incidents, this camper did fantastic. Both the truck and trailer have earned family pet status which hasn’t happened since I drove my ‘76 Datsun 280z for 12 years and many, many long distance road trips (much more cramped road trips but at a bit faster pace). We love our a213hw!
Josh, I know this was an older video but I have watched all of your videos on these A213HW units, my wife and I were able to buy one of these and its as good or better than you say!! Your videos sure helped us realize what were found and confirm it was the unit for us!!

I want to put 2 kayaks up there, 1-14ft & 1-12ft.
"About time" is right. The Factories have been doing their best. We focus heavily on a small-but-smart lineup of popups (both tent campers and A-Frames) here. We carry a LOT of copies of them and keep margins on them quite low to roll big volume on them. So we'll have a few more floor plans, but we can get you anything they make naturally.
I've been drooling over this same model for years now, back before the dormer was included. Some day... But, I do have a question: Does this need sway bars or anything like that? Or just a normal ball hitch (on a 1/2 ton truck)?
With a 1/2 ton pickup you should not need any specialty hitching. The dry weight of this is still only about half of the weakest towing half-tons out there. Plus it's narrow/short.
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks, Sounds like I would be pushing the limit for a Kia Telluride with a 500 lb. max hitch weight. Would an equalizer hitch be in order?
Kinda depends on what you do with that front cargo compartment. It wouldn't be a bad idea but you may be able to get away with one. Thing to consider: You won't regret the extra safety and stability of the hitching system while towing. But you may regret NOT having it.
Love your videos. I'm going to pull the trigger and purchase an A-frame camper next year. I'm having a tough time deciding between the A213HW and the A223HW.
Super similar obviously. For a lot of people it becomes a question of "do you want that extra 1/2 bath or not?" Thing is... even if you don't use the 1/2 bath the A213HW can perform all the same functions as the A223HW, but give you a late night emergency potty option and when it comes to resale folks hawk the market for any kind of popup with a cassette toilet like that. As testament to that even in the new RV market last year we literally sold 16 of the A213HW to 2 or 3 of the A223HW models. And the 213's sold out far far more quickly.
I have a 2014 Chev Cruze. Will it be able to pull this unit? We have a 13 year old daughter who needs her own bed. would she have privacy while using the toilet?
Josh, I'll be retiring soon and I'm considering a Rockwood A-frame camper. I've read that some people had problems with the electric lift system motors going out. Some people thought water was getting inside the lift motor. Do you know if this is something Rockwood has addressed and how?
We hadn't seen it much before last year, but I do know we saw several instances of that last season. It's likely a supplier-related issue since Rockwood doesn't build that motor. I also haven't heard any of that recently. That leads me to believe Rockwood ironed things out with a supplier, but I am only theorizing. The service team here could likely provide more insights on that (or ask your sales contact here to get the skinny on that from them for you!)
I'm not worried about it handling the weight but there's not really anything in there to which a solar panel can likely be mounted. That's my only concern really

We did see a few instances of that last year. This current generation hasn't been out long enough for me to really be able to give you a good answer here. I'd like to think so. USUALLY motor-related problems like that stem from Suppliers rather than the MFG's
This is a great little camper BUT the one thing I don’t like is the canvas cover up on both ends. It make the inside look very cheap. If they could come up with a way to do a better job with this it would be the best!
We do not currently have that one slated for our inventory. It's not a type of RV for which we get a lot of requests in this region (though very cool in its own right). We can obviously get you anything Rockwood builds of course.
LOL One time their iron-man-circle-scanner-thing detected... *something* on me. Still not sure what it might've been. They used little color changing strip test things which apparently alarmed the agent enough they needed a supervisor. Eventually I was "asked" to join them in the private little room. I lead a pretty straight and narrow life, so I wasn't worried about it. Eventually they just sorta said "Fine you can go." A few hours later I was enjoying lunch in the Florida sun! :)
I'm not aware of any builder of this style of RV with a proven 4 seasons package. Rockwood no longer has any "off road" style A-Frame Models in their lineup
The only problem with this camper is: it doesn't have a inside shower like the A Liner LXE. Outside showers are not good for me, in freezing weather, even thou I'm from Viking ancestry!
Apologies we have been sold out of these for a few months and haven't received more in some time. I don't have a good frame of reference as a result and would have to ask you to contact our team at 800-256-5196 for figures
That's actually something I think has lead to much of the decline of the popup market. The old V8 rear wheel drive car was a household staple that has phased out of the marketplace for the most part. Our "everyday cars" can't tow little campers like this like they used to. Some sedans are still capable, but they're fewer and far-er between
I cannot email you directly via RUclips and do not recommend you drop your email in public comments. Drop our team a note via our website's forms at bit.ly/39MS80j for a quick answer and to keep your information protected!
Fair! They make plenty of no-toilet models. I don't see it as a "Normal Use" feature -- but handy for someone with something like IBS in the middle of the night or for a single person.
They are nice the biggest problem is greed and overpriced tags. World has gotten more crooked and needed. There's too many awful greedy rich people that wants too much money for something that isn't worth what they are asking for, they just want to rob everyone out of their miseries for their personal gain to have a bigger fat bank account. You can almost buy a house for the price they are asking for these tiny little campers which makes no f sense! Think about it before you judge what I'm saying. Have a nice day!

1:32 but what's the big deal about carpeted floors?
For some it’s about cleaning
They don’t bother me personally
@@JoshtheRVNerd
Problem: Carpeted floors in an RV can be hard to clean
Solution: Bring out the *V.A.C.U.U.M.*
When will you guys be getting in a A213HWOR? I like it all but the unnecessary bathroom.
We do not currently have that one slated for our inventory. It's not a type of RV for which we get a lot of requests in this region (though very cool in its own right). We can obviously get you anything Rockwood builds of course.
What is the dry weight and what is the tung weight?

Hi Josh, do you know what the pricing is on this 2021 unit ?? Thanks !!
I don't have a hard figure off hand, but as I recall this bigger series of a-frames with a dormer tends to run in the mid-teens.
TSA would set you to permanent strip search for the rest of your life Josh. Lmao
LOL
One time their iron-man-circle-scanner-thing detected...
@@JoshtheRVNerd A good testament to the merits of getting to the airport as soon as possible. It can be worth the extra waiting around.
You forgot to say what btu the heaters are!
I am in Pennsylvania were can I get one of these?
Josh will have one dropped of to your house if you would like.
Yep! Like Mathew said we can have them dropped off pretty much anywhere you'd like. All you need to do is give us a call at 800-256-5196
How much does it cost?
Pricing or last known MSRP at bit.ly/39MS80j
If they only had trailing arm suspension.
4 season off road package?
I'm not aware of any builder of this style of RV with a proven 4 seasons package. Rockwood no longer has any "off road" style A-Frame Models in their lineup
The only problem with this camper is: it doesn't have a inside shower like the A Liner LXE. Outside showers are not good for me, in freezing weather, even thou I'm from Viking ancestry!
We are thinking about one of these
Let us know how we can be of assistance!!
@@JoshtheRVNerd thank you! Wish y'all were closer to Louisiana
@@CharmaineSilva777 You could always move closer to Haylett RV! LOL
Or just let us deliver one right to your front door!
How much is it
Apologies we have been sold out of these for a few months and haven't received more in some time. I don't have a good frame of reference as a result and would have to ask you to contact our team at 800-256-5196 for figures
That is sedan car towable.
That's actually something I think has lead to much of the decline of the popup market. The old V8 rear wheel drive car was a household staple that has phased out of the marketplace for the most part. Our "everyday cars" can't tow little campers like this like they used to.
Some sedans are still capable, but they're fewer and far-er between
Is this still available? If so will you email me the web price. Thank you
I cannot email you directly via RUclips and do not recommend you drop your email in public comments. Drop our team a note via our website's forms at bit.ly/39MS80j for a quick answer and to keep your information protected!
What I'd lIke to see is "PRICING".
Is this still for sale?
We buy these by the truckload. Our first round is almost wiped out. I *think* we still have one available right now with more incoming

Giggity!
OMG Josh! ROFLMAO!!
..what did I do THIS time?
Well I guess the roof isn't walkable 😆😅😆😊
hah
anyone else think “hmmm my new luggage to fly with…to get through TSA” also? just me?
*Raises Hand*
I would have to say NO just because of the toilet location lol
Fair! They make plenty of no-toilet models. I don't see it as a "Normal Use" feature -- but handy for someone with something like IBS in the middle of the night or for a single person.
Plus, it'd be so easy to heat up your coffee. 😏
😀
Refrigerator opens the wrong direction. Why do they do that? I see it all the time. 😖
They’re reversible btw
I find it troubling that in a worst case scenario I'll be forced to shit where I eat. What were the designers thinking?
They are nice the biggest problem is greed and overpriced tags. World has gotten more crooked and needed. There's too many awful greedy rich people that wants too much money for something that isn't worth what they are asking for, they just want to rob everyone out of their miseries for their personal gain to have a bigger fat bank account. You can almost buy a house for the price they are asking for these tiny little campers which makes no f sense! Think about it before you judge what I'm saying. Have a nice day!
You're not wrong. Some of the big FWs have gotten out of control
It's all good laying in the skylight until someone looks down on YOU missing teeth all hairy and smelly ...yep went dark on that one
#SummerCamp96 lol
Very bad collage joke
All my jokes are bad jokes really lol
That dude is annoying..
