I love see you be more down to earth with this kind of fishing. How cool would it be to just see the best bass fisherman in the world just grinding on the bank. Love it.
He is human!! I'm glad to know even the pros backlash sometimes too! I appreciate that you show the real world stuff, not just the fish catches! Keep up the great work!
A good reminder to everyone that bank fishing can be a grind, even for a PRO. Sometimes it's not the quantity or size of the fish, but the work it took to get that fish. After a long grind, 1 little fish can really boost your spirits. Great video man!
Real Wheels fans unite! Watched this whole video of him doing his best impression of us mortal regular guys. For me, the best public water bank fishing is right below the big dams. Those fish swim way upstream, hit a concrete wall, say dam.. and feed up.
Dude, me & my brother were there at the aquarium fishing that same place that morning, it was a tough day, but we were in a boat, but that place is usually on fire & you gave me an idea to try from the bank sometime, we started across from the golf course at 6:30 am & the bites lasted till about 9 am, great video though at least you didn't get skunked👍
To be honest I was spoiled growing up did a tone of boat fishing with Dad and Grandfather, Bank fishing sucks don't have patience for it dealing with trees and crap. I stop fishing after leaving home cause I didn't have a Boat now I live in Northern NY fishing St Lawarence River for big Muskie and Smallmouth On a Deep v Alumacraft Lovin life. But to be honest I like watching people bank fishing and seeing a Pro come off his boat and bank fishing is fun do it again I say liked vid man.
I love to see that even the best break off and get caught and don't have the greatest days. It's much respected makes me feel 10 times better some days thinking I'm just failing but forget it's part of this sport
Its actually heartwarming to see the great Jacob Wheeler struggling on the bank like many of us 😉 I fished for an hour and a half tonight and had 4 strikes until I finally landed a 1.5 lb largemouth on a wacky rigged senko so it's good to see one of the best out there also struggles at times 😉
Lake Jr. is a stocked trout lake, mostly late winter to early spring. I've never targeted bass when fishing in there, but I've always wondered. And the dink bite is a bite nonetheless!! Great to see you (literally) on stomping grounds my dude. Tight lines!!
Jacob you said open to fishing but not catching at that pond. Lol. Story of my life this spring my friend. Great video none the less. I'm watching you practicing tying knots. Beginner bass angler.
So I’ve caught a Sturgeon and a Spoonbill off the banks there. Fun times!! Also that pond I believe is stocked with trout. Awesome seeing you around our town. Come up to Ooltewah.
Check out history of Lake junior it's connected with the big lake. They stoke with trout that's why you every now and then catch a trout just above or below the damn. Very dangerous little when i was little and people swam there many many drownings...some recovered in the river or lake later. Just a cool little lake not for many bass let alone big ones... great video keep it up...
Love this! I enjoy slaying bass from the banks with my Jacob Wheeler signature rod and signature reel! This touched me to see Pro Jacob going back to his roots getting it in outside of the tournament trail 💪🏾 #TeamDuckett
I’m glad u did this video man I appreciate the content rather ur in a boat or if it’s just ur monthly lure set I asked for this video and it didn’t disappoint I laughed more at the everyday bank fishing like u sayin come on Bite bite bite damn I’m hung up lmao that was priceless keep up the great content 🤙🏻
You strike out unless you got friends with killer farm ponds. I use to have access for 40 years to these ponds. It was a gated private neighborhood. It was 8 ponds all within walking distance to each one. Dang is all I gotta say! Many years of joy!
Getting ready to launch over at broad ripple park to fish north of the park. Saw Dizzle on the bank on Memorial Day. I figured it would be a excellent way to get the mind right. Just keep inspiring people to get them lines wet and catch ‘em. Had many of days where the bank is hot and hard. You strike out more times than you catch em. Truth!
@@WheelerFishing holler at me next time I have some pretty good spots in Chattanooga and North Ga area. I understand, I had a close encounter with a cottonmouth river fishing for smallies this past weekend.
Fished today 05/30/2022 at Booker T Wasington in that little cove by the bathroom got a few bites but small fish. I threw evrything but left my kichen sink at home. Even a Rattlin Ned didn't catch anything. I fish Lake Junior some weekends. The water was way up over the picnic table pads for a long time. It is stocked with trout every year as well as Jack Dickert Pond in Eas Ridge. Last time I fished there I caught a few small bass on the Ned and a catfish on a Vibrating Jig.
Recently picked up one of the Wheeler Signature Duckett rods... extremely pleased so far, have already bagged a dozen bass or so with it including a nice 6lb on Saturday. Don't think I can go back to buying any other rods now, great value at that price.
In front of the southern belle is where I caught my PB 7.11 lbs largemouth 2 years ago. So many lures lost during the process but I do appreciate you showing your roots and the struggling of bank fishing. At least you got a great exercise from it though haha
I whent fishing yesterday for 5 hours the only thing I caught was a sunburn lol I guess it happens to even Jacob wheeler that makes me feel better you caught 1 lol 😂
Lake Junior is mostly used for Trout fishing that they stock and this time of year its closed. Only open during the winter months. Does have bass in it though, some old guy caught and kept a 8.5 lb bass in december lol so thats why its a trash bass pond.
Old Bill Dance backlash remedy: pull line till it stops, tighten drag completely, press down HARD on spool with thumb while turning handle a couple of turns, release spool, pull again. If it hangs, repeat. Gets 75-85 percent of em.
The jig was good. But forgetting to bring a Vudu shrimp might be a mistake (to catch a flounder). Seth Feider caught one fishing St. Johns River in Florida last spring. I don't know whether he was offended, surprised or reassured. Or some combination of all. I always tell myself, I must be doing something right. When I see flat fish on the line.
Have you ever watched these “Reel” videos that go on for thirty minutes and you wait for the punch line? I do enjoy your fishing videos… when you’re in your boat. Places like that are about the few times during the year that the fish actually show up.
Backlashing, tough bites...urban setting with pressured fish from the bank...sounds like my experience fishing!! Finally something relatable xD
I love see you be more down to earth with this kind of fishing. How cool would it be to just see the best bass fisherman in the world just grinding on the bank. Love it.
Gotta get it however you can get it

All about the search and the grind!
dude you're arguably the best in the world, and you just showed you were still human, and dude I have a whole lot more love and respect for you now.
Appreciate it my man!
Us bank fishermen appreciate you making a video specifically for us. You're the GOAT, Jacob! Best of luck through the rest of the season.
Love this video. Please start stopping at ponds and do more urban fishing. These are some good videos of showing how hard urban fishing can be.
Love your perseverance and the fact that you're not afraid to show a tough day.
I love to see this. As someone that’s grown up in Chattanooga it’s astonishing how much you can catch in an urban setting
I lived in Chattanooga for 2 years! Love the city and the atmosphere there! It will always be my 2nd home to me!
Went to UTC, missed the city so much since graduation
You have to most enjoyable fishing channel to watch. Lots of variety. Thanks
I grew up pond and creek fishing from the bank. So absolutely love this. Jacob great comment about the pan-optics sunglasses.
Look at that mortal picking out his backlash 😆 love it
Great video JW! I mainly fish the lakes here from the bank until tournament time. Love the patience it takes to hit em from the shore
It requires patience for sure!! Appreciate it bro
Love the realisim of the backlash, it like a cabin one, where you have to wait to you get back to the cabin to work on it.lol
Haha I’d normally just toss it down and grab another and deal with it later

May just be the best video you’ve ever done!😀 winning AOY is 2nd! I do some bank fishing just to go fish; it clears my head.

Awesome, I live right outside of Chattanooga and I started humbly bank fishing. Keep it up Jacob!
Great Great Video... You weren't selling product. You weren't gassing us... You were just giving Bank Fisherman an understanding...

I stay in ooltewah, its sole spots here?
I’ve fished many many nights in that same spot
Jacob Wheeler #HomeTownGuy 💥💯 You rock man 💯 Talk about a good Fisherman 👍 you make it look easy my guy 💯💥🇺🇸🇺🇸
Awesome Speech of our military Jacob Wheeler
That was tough fishing !
Half an hour of not catching fish has never made me feel so confident in my skills!
😂
awesome video like to see more on ponds fishing...
Gonna have to start hitting them up a lot more often on the road
Nice pictures at least you enjoyed your time . Thank you for sharing 📹 👍

Lake junior is a trout lake. Stocked like once a year. Try the dam caught some bigs out there before.
Man it was pretty overgrown out there brody was scared of 🐍

That's great to see the pros get a backlash. I do that a lot. Get excited or lose focus and spend time picking out the backlashes.😂
Backlash on the set up shot that was great
😂🤣🤷♂️
You should do more bank fishing RUclips
Thank you for this video 💯

Props. Great video
Looks just like every bank fisherman. That's me all day.
I hate to say it, but my favorite part was watching you pick out a back lash. I AM NOT ALONE!
All the time brother
One last cast and one for Elvis ! 🐟

No way! Off the bank as well??
That’s a crazy big one, brody might end up living down there till he catches one after hearing that
Great vid dude!
Get back in the boat Jacob 🤣
I whent fishing yesterday for 5 hours the only thing I caught was a sunburn lol I guess it happens to even Jacob wheeler that makes me feel better you caught 1 lol 😂
😂 was just a little babyyyy
the true struggle of bank fishing in one video lol
Jacob I would love to see you come fish the thousand acre lake in Huntingdon Tennessee
Where the boat ramp is. There are some rocks out there about 35 m. Full of fish! I’m local.
Glad to see even the pros get professional overruns (a.k.a backlashes). I feel for you bro'.
Caught a 7 pound donkey behind Chatt State this morning. DING!

nice to know even you strike out sometime
Been a while since you went slummin little tougher than the best bass lakes in the world
Being a vet I really appreciate your comments thank you
Wait I live right down the road..I've got a place you can fish some big boys in it..
I don't have that issue of backlashing much once I set my DC reel like it's intended to be set. Scorpion DC is the way to go..
You should of taken a largo shad. After I watched your video last year about it I won’t go anywhere without one tied on. They are fire
if you ever decide to do another bank fishing video in the chattanooga area I have a few good spots that can probably get you some good content
I live in chatt fished down there a couple times catfishing is more promising from experience and hearing
Love your videos! What was the spinning reel you were using?

Only downside is if does stop again due to it catching on a loop it’ll create a weak spot in the line
Hey Jacob, what’s the name of that roof mounted rod locker on your truck? Can’t seem to find it online. Thanks
Even the #1 professional bass angler in the world gets backlashes!
Allll the time lol

Thats a stocked trout pond XD, it only has fish during the winter as far as i know.
What is the rooftop box on your truck called????
What kind of spinning reels do you use size, name.
Duckett paradigm 2500/3000
Nice
You shoulda hit the (DING) lol
Leave the bank fishing to us po boys. You’ve been off the bank for to long. Stick to your strengths. Hahahaha thanks for the video brother. GB🍊
😂
That would be cool for Apple or Google smart glasses to work with the live scoping 👀
I bet ole dc would do good with the current
Not without his front facing sonar lol
@@jprizzle2604 and his jerk bait
Thanks for trying anyway. That’s what counts for me. Hope you have a fun, but safe weekend with your fam’!!!!!
Was definitely fun! Hope you had a great time as well!
Story of my life summarized in 30 minutes and 59 seconds.
😂😂😂
🤪
First fish caught at 27:53
🤷♂️🤷♂️
I think he would've caught more on that tidal fishery by using white or silver. With a hint of chartreuse because the water clarity.
Anybody know what spinning reel he was using

You would've had better luck at Lake Junior with Powerbait or corn!😂
lets fish a waveland tournament. you gotta fish in back tho i dont want you seeing my waypoints
Dang small dia braid can knot up bad.
