Great to see your enthusiasm for Donald Featherstone Bill. My Wargames club is Wessex Wargaming Society where Featherstone was a member. The club still has some terrain etc he used probably for these books.
This was a fun video! I recognize some very familiar titles and covers. I’ve had great times reading and gaming Featherstone, just not enough of the latter-two weeks ago was my first wargame convention. I’d love to see a review of Featherstone’s Skirmish Wargaming, maybe even game videos of his colorful scenarios! It’s probably my favorite Featherstone book.
I actually never read Featherstone’s airborne book, although I did use to do some very basic airborne skirmish games using his basic rules and 1/32 Airfix and Matchbox. I drew a map of my table (actually a countertop) and randomly dotted it with my eyes closed to see where the paratroopers would land. I really like Featherstone’s airdrop method.
Happy Anniversary Bill & Lisa! Thanks for the review. My thoughts are that some of the modern rulesets became too complicated, added nothing to the fun of the game, and ended with the same results of the simpler more fun rulesets. be well, and enjoy
I am glad people are thinking about more simple rules and figures or playing areas that are about fun over being museum accurate or quality. In the end this was suppose to be about having fun. If it's not fun, you are doing it wrong?
