- I ranked the 2022/23 SPFL Premiership home shirts from worst to best (in my opinion).

I know you said your opinion but feel like your just giving Motherwell kit worst review cause treatment you got at fir park. Kinda disappointed if that away your doing it cause defo one best home tops in the league this season.
Please do an away kit one, and put St Johnstone first, because I mean, teal and magenta is just beautiful
Celtic fan but actually love that Dundee Utd kit. Love the simplicity of it and the DUFC letters in place of the crest. Looks like a classic Dutch kit.
Hearts fan, and yep - the Utd strip looks really good this year. Love the lettering.

United fan - The sponsor ruins it for me, Hate the gold Q, Hoping they release one without the sponsor for the adult range
My take away from this is that Sam doesn't like 'basic' kits 😅 for me the Dundee United one is my favourite but I'm a sucker for a retro kit
The moreso ‘straightforward’ kits ARE WONDERFUL. Aweigh almost any 1970s football kit. Strong contrasting colours. Nowt need for undershading (which can be nice in itself) but nevertheless, BOLD IS GOD.
That Motherwell kit is lovely. The away kit is unreal 😍
If you actually look at the St.Mirren kit you see the paisley pattern throughout the white stripes which would bump it up a few places

@@danielj3440 I don't mind retro kits... my Hearts home top is very retro this year, that's why I bought it. Deepest maroon for a few years, and a very unfussy front.

This is the third 2022-23 SPFL home kit review I've watched and they've all placed the Ross County strip at the bottom. I don't think it's all that bad. My bottom one for this season would be Hibs, which is a bit of drop for them this season, as last season in my view they had one of the best ones. Maybe it would be okay if there wasnt so much contrast between the light green and the darker green.
My top one this season is the Aberdeen strip - it's the best one we've had for years and I can't wait to buy it. Before I'm accused of being biased towards the club I support, I didn't like our two most recent home kits very much at all (although I did like last season's away kit). Both too plain, and I didn't like the weird white collar thing on the strip 2 years ago.
For me I would say Hibs are number 1 , reasons being love the stand that is shown on the shirt and 2 - green T shirts are the way forward
My top 5 kits this season are
1. Aberdeen - As a Dons fan who was a wee lad back in 1983, this kit is simply stunning. I love how Adidas have even got the shade of the kit matching the '83 one. It's a thing of beauty.
2. Dundee Utd - Again, great memories for Utd fans of that 1982-83 season. It's a clean, crisp, no nonsense kit. Very nice.
3. Motherwell - Another beautiful kit. For me, this is a classic design for them.
4. St Johnstone - Simple design, not fancy, just a classic Saints kit.
5. St Mirren - As with the others, it's a classic design for a Buddies kit.
At times kits can try to be too fancy. You can't beat a classic design, keep it simple. Rangers kit this season is a nice one too, the small checker board effect is reminiscent of their late '80's Umbro kit. For me, the worst one is Livi's. The collar is awful, i think it would look far better with only one colour of pin stripe on it too.
Maybe me but the Celtic kit is no different every year. How can it be a top 5 when you don't like retro shirts from Hearts etc? Hope our new Motherwell top is waterproof as think I be shedding many tears but better than following the "Flock" 😢😢😢😢😢

It’s such a synonymous pattern of the club that it’s hard to really do anything drastically different, they probably consider it to be too much of a risk

Interesting vid. I might have missed it but have you done a second/away strip? Sometimes there is more room for manoeuvre when designing the kit.

I think it's one of our best kits in a long time! Best since returning to the top flight! I really want to get one very soon! Livingston should always be in Amber

I think what sets Livingston apart is their collar is incredible. It just fits well for whatever reason. The alternating black and white stripes are nice and it's good that Phoenix Drilling Company doesn't have a green logo or something like that. I do think that the Motherwell kit is quite nice, but other than that I think your rankings do mostly align with mine. Adidas did a great job with both Celtic kits and that Aberdeen home shirt.
I really don’t like the new kits. Mainly because of the adverts. It reminds me of the old guys who used to wear a bit of cardboard over their necks telling you to go to a shop. Old ones are better. I’m not paying £75 to advertise a betting firm or brewery. Celtic have non sponsor shirts and other clubs should follow.
I agree motherwell had them few years back but new sponsors don’t allow it apparently
Hard to find a sponsor willing to let the Club sell an unsponsored version though unfortunately, im sure its a nightmare for celtic when a big name wants pay huge amounts only to find out they wont be getting the advertisement by everybody wearing it. I'd say its stopped them from earning a fair bit of cash .
@@neosgaming1 it’s a poison chalice. I guess the club needs the extra cash but when you have a sponsor on the front; two on the back and one on each sleeve it’s a bit much. The retro shirts with just the club badge will always be my favourite. Hearts are sponsoring mind Scotland and Lillie have a local baker.

I’m a Hearts fan, so obviously I’m never really going to be a fan of Celtic kits, but this season in particular I really dislike their home kit. Think the gradient effect goes overboard and makes it look like a cheap knock off. Killie however have managed to churn out 3 fantastic kits this season.

Nowtwithsatnding that LSD yellow and dark bloo zig zag Arsenal kit, noone should be doing ‘retro kits’ hailing back to only the 1990s! Hearts (to my eyen) have always done (mostly) good kitware. Uphail the dark bloodpumps!

Good video, I don't have too much complaints where my team lands, it's not my favourite kit so far.

DU and Hearts are pretty cool but Aberdeen is just class, the away strip is lovely! Might actually buy both and I can't even wear them living in Glasgow 🙄

The Celtic hoops are so synonymous with the club and you can spot them from a mile away. Agree that betting companies as sponsors is not a good look for clubs. None of this seasons home kits will go down as classics.

Aberdeen top is a belter, better than this season Celtic top , best Celtic top in years was the first new balance one.
As a Rangers fan, my favourite strip is the Patrick Thistle top, so retro, please show it.

You have done a good job on this video with super illustrations and very good narration. The Kits -The worst Ross County a no contest with Motherwell a fairly close runner up I agree. As for the best no stand outs this season for me but Celtic take the honour from Rangers but I wish Rangers would stick to the lighter blue from the 1963/64 era!

Disclaimer, I am an Aberdeen fan. That United kit has been ruined by that sponsor which looks small and ugly. Love the clean simplicity of the St Mirren and Hearts kits.
I miss bucket hats (aka sunhats). Cud make neverending sundry bucket hats out of all the sundry retro kits. Flat caps and Wemburghleigh panel hats good too.
As a rangers fan I like the Livingston,Motherwell and Dundee utd kits tbh
The Motherwell kit is amazing.
The problem is Clairet and Amber can be offensive to the eye. When you look at the style it's Number 1 for me.
I think Bradford city pull off the claret and amber look better than motherwell

Agreed that St Johnstone’s home kit is pretty bland, but I’m curious what your thoughts are on their purple and teal “feathery” away kits.
I believe St Mirren actually has some sort of paisley pattern on the black stripes that aren’t easily seen on stock photos, they’re cooler than they first appear.

Rangers fan, and I'm being unbiased. I like the retro Aberdeen shirt. The win in Gothenburg was some fete and deserves to be remembered. I'd like Rangers to bring out a retro of the 1981 shirt.
St Mirren away kit is outstanding. First two orders are sold out. Now waiting for the 3rd order from Joma and the waiting list exceeds the number on order. Looks like a 4th order will be required. This is a classic shirt of black with a silver Paisley pattern.
Dundee United’s would be amazing if it weren’t for that horrendous sponsor.

...not gonna lie, I'd have basically completely flipped this list - top 2 are shocking, made me feel ill.
Aberdeen kit does look the best for me this year if I'm looking neutrally.
Celtic fan but id have put Celtic strip top of pile, but for the Magners on back advertised , as Celtic are mainly a Spl Scottish club team BUT always seem to advertise irish drink firms ..not good enough for me and so why i dont put it top of pile . id go also Livi top of pile with Dundee Utd and Hibs between both 2nd and 3rd with Celtic 4th.

Hearts shirt is the best for me. Aberdeen is great, but it didn't say Aberdeen. Livingston looks like a cross between Wolves and Norwich. Rangers needs livening up. Agree that Celtic deserve top honours for selling a shirt without adverts. Hibernian looks superb, and very similar to Plymouth Argyle. Yes, an away shirt video would be awesome, and Hearts for a third kit award too :)
Can you do away kits
Our away shirt is beautiful but Hearts' home shirt is a real decline in design from last season. All the details I think looked great are gone: the fold over collar with white triangular rib, the white stripes running from collar down the arms to the contrast cuffs and, of course the biggest surrpise, the main sponsor rebranding their logo?! Delighted we still proudly raise money and awareness for MND Scotland and the 'helping hand' is an appropriate name for the new logo but c'mon! Very little could top the cornflower emblem and Lotto-lookalike hand certainly wasn't going to!

Celtic fan - been totally honest the last Rangers jersey/ gear that was decent was there early 90s with the adidas down the shoulders , there away kit this year is horrific ,

It is the first time I´m actually opposite to you on this. It is only my opinion and of course I´m happy you film this video for us. Livingston for me is worst kit. I watched their game against Rangers here on Czech TV and I don´t like their kits. Kilmarnock it is the same for me. It´s 11th on my list. St. Mirren 10th, but the fact that their own fans choose the shirt is good. 9th place is for Rangers. Last season they had a beautiful shirt and I´ve seen it live in Prague at Sparta european match and I liked them a lot. This season they´re too simple and checkers were bad idea. 8th Motherwell, the kit is not bad, but positioning of sponsor is really bad and it´s making the shirt kind of bad looking unfortunatelly. 7th Ross County, I like it. They put up some new design and compered to their last season kit? Way better. 6th for me are Hearts, simple but it fits the club I mean. 5th are Aberdeen, just for their retro badge. I´m not a massive fan of stripes but on this kit it don´t bother me that much and the logo is beautiful. 4th for me is actually St. Johnstone, yes it´s simple but I like it, different shades of blue and the modern styele I think. 3rd Dundee United, I mean this is a beauty, retro badge, nice colors, remembering great times, love that! 2nd is mighty Celtic, I was worried that their home kit will be the same as usual. But this year Adidas stole the show for me, design on the green is very stylish and modern and silver star with silver stripes are beautifal to watch. Some Adidas shirts aren´t that good but this year I love them. They made also shirt for my club Sparta Prague and I like it too. And my winner are Hibs... This is masterpeace. Colors, shape around the neck and stadium design on the shirt. Amazing, well done! Again it´s just my opinion and I like the fact that we finally find a think to disagree a little bit 😊😀

@@FootyAdventures It's good for me as your subscriber that we have a slightly different opinion on something. Mainly because you can't be criticized for anything otherwise. Your videos are always great. Thanks to them I started watching Scottish football. It also helped that Sparta played both Celtic and Rangers in the last two seasons.

Best kit in my lifetime was the Rangers Nike effort way back in the late 90s. Not a fan of the current Castore efforts. Always really liked Hamilton Accies strips.
