Hey everyone! Today we're reviewing a very interesting bass from Cort - The GB74GIG! Cort took the bass world by storm when they released a bass that could seemingly do it all - The GB74GIG. Featuring a P pickup at the neck, and a humbucker with a twist at the bridge position. The humbucker features both Music Man style and Jazz bass style pole pieces, and a selector switch to go between the different sets of magnets. Accentuating these pickups is Cort's two band preamp with a passive tone control! This bass looks like the perfect recipe for the one bass that can do it all.... but can the GB74GIG live up to its expectations? Let's find out!
This bass and all my other basses with rounds are strung with MJC Ironworks Nickel Plated Stainless Steel 45-105(125) unless otherwise noted. Check them out at www.mjcironworks.com

RE: dedicated passive tone nob -
sometimes you might want to switch between an active and passive sound without having to adjust the tone settings
like having an active tone setup for solos, and a passive tone setup for holding down the low end (or vice versa)
Fair warning though - I am sometimes known as a 'passive tone nob' ;)
Thank you Pectorialis! I appreciate your insight into the tone knob! It's always very grounding to hear other people's thoughts on these things.
I have been forward to a review on this bass for so long! Really glad Cort is getting the appreciation it should
Thank you Akmal!
perfect video as always, showing all the things that the bass has to offer. Keep it up!
They gave me one of these when I went to demo some amps at a music store and I was honestly impressed with how comfortable and punchy it was. If it wasn't for its ultra bland appearance, I would have bought it on the spot
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Finally! Really wanted to try it out...looks like a killer. Thabk you!
Enjoy all your videos. Very informative & entertaining at the same time. Thanks.
Thanks Drew!
I appreciate your knowledgeable assessment of this review . Personally I have around seven or eight Bass guitars ,and enjoy all of them for there unique look ,feel , etc. but to be honest my choice for the "Do it all" is a P bass with a J pickup in the bridge position that I built from parts & hardware of my choosing , it is passive yet I can get any sound I want with a minimalist pedal board and the EQ on my amp. Great review as always , I think you have a insightful presentation and would love to see you do some vid's on pedals .
Thank you! Hoping to start doing some pedal content more regularly at some point in the future as we grow.
I looked into this bass too and decided to go in another direction. I modded an Ibanez TMB310. I changed the double j into a MM pickup, upgraded the preamp, and put a high mass bridge on it. It might not look pretty, cause I cannot router, but it sounds awesome and was a heck of a lot cheaper. Great content as always, keep them coming Lobster!
Noice! Your mods sound killer. Thank you for sharing!
finally this bass here, thx for the content
Thanks Simon! :)
Awesome videos lobster!! Grettings from Spain!
Thank you and greetings :)
I really like the slap sound you got with this one!
I also see benefits of having passive tone as a separate knob. Active preamp pots often have center detent due to being boost/cut so it's always a compromise on how to handle tone on the same knob, plus it gives you the option to switch between two independent tones quickly.
Great insight gryzew! Thank you
Excellent Lobster 🦞 great review 👍
Thanks Paul!
I think I could definitely enjoy that pickup configuration!
I recently saw that Cort and almost bought it.
As a player who still feels a bit reluctant to modding, I am grateful I saw you opinion now.
Thank you my friend!
I’d totally mod the electronics on this otherwise really solid bass. The hardware is amazing! It’s a looker too. Love the color!
Thanks Joe!
I really appreciate the 21 fret neck! I think it's such an oversight for a bass the go from E to Eb. The 21 fret is a great attention to detail.
I love this pickup combination. I've always loved PJ setups and having the J pickup be a humbucker is even cooler. AND A TRUSSROD WHEEL! Such a cool instrument. If only it had another fret or three.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for doing a review on this bass!! I have been curious about it for a while. It definitely isn't a "jack of all trades" but I do like the sound and looks. I would definitely do some rewiring and wire the tone control into the active circuit. I think I could live with the control placement. Hum could be from shoddy shielding. If all else fails, swap that humbucker out for a MM with splitable coils. But I am also with you on spending more money on a bass at that cost. Anywho, another great review. Thank you for all your reviews, I really enjoy your playing and respect your opinion.
Thanks Brian!
It is a very beautiful and versatile bass. I bet one of these pots makes a very good coffee! ☕
I like these Cort basses a lot, I never had one before but if I do someday I would probably go for
the GB74JJ in blue color. That could be a suggestion to you for another review/demo video,
keep up the good work LowEndLobster I really enjoy your videos!!!
Thanks Guy!
The GB74JJ in blue as well as other colors & also this one GB74 GIG have been discontinued. I wish I had seen this video before I bought one of the last ones out of Austria. I couldn’t find either in the U.S. as of 3/22.
Great Review! I feel like the GB series basses from Cort are actually extremely underrated. They've been out for about 3-4 years I think and they've gone completely under my radar up until last year which is surprising given how popular Cort is in India. I would much rather buy one of these as opposed to a A4/B4/C4. I own a gorgeous GB75JJ and that beast cuts through like anything.
Thank you and thanks for sharing!
Nice bass. Interesting pickup configuration. That could work out nice on a 5 stringer.
was honestly surprised it sounded so good.
Glad you did this bass. It's one I have been curious about. However I think it needs upgrading. It is versatile but needs better magnet matching and electronics. If it was cheaper in the UK I may consider it. Also the word SLAPPER means something totally different in the UK .lol. as we sa also Jack of all trades master of none .
Great job again
Thanks Stu! LOL tell that to Davie ;P
Lobster, when you 1st started to play the court definitely caught my attention sounded pretty nice indeed. Both pick UPS. Tight.
Thanks Richard!
Nice to see all that great hardware and a truss rod wheel on an affordable bass. I really wish more manufacturers did this, but I suspect that they worry about cannabilizing sales of higher priced instruments. I think that bass looks and sounds great. Kinda wish it was just passive though. As always, great review.
Thanks Mark!
I'd buy a used one if the price was right. Some nice sounds and it's good looking, except for all the knobs. There is potential there for sure. Another fine review Lobster!
Thanks Darvin!
Hi, thank you very much for excellent review (as usual). Can you give me some advice about the Cort Rithimic?
Very versatile bass
Thanks Adonis!
Yes!
:)
Dear Mr Lobster...
It's great you're now reviewing Cort basses. What I'd like to see is a review of the Cort A5 Beyond multiscale fan-fretted bass. Then I'd like to see you put Cort's multiscale bass up against your other favorite multiscale bass - the Ibanez EHB1005MS. Similar price range. See how two multiscales compare, and which one is best.
Thanks for the review Lobster, enjoyed it as always. Have you seen Cort's dedicated fretless, the 'B4fl Mhpz'? Unique looking instrument.
Thanks McMeeBurger! I haven't seen one in person, definitely looks interesting. Thanks for the suggestion!
I know I am not the only one that holds of on Pinching the like button until its time to turn your hand back to normal haha. Oh by the way. Got my Ash Ray34. Weight isn't too bad for me, and I absolutely love the bass. Thanks for the review on that, the day before I purchased!!!
Awesome! Congrats! :)
16:09 fail xddddddd Nice review!!!!
;P Thanks
Just found your channel, great fun and honest reviews, great!
Have you tried the Cort Ultra Ash so far? I would love to get a review for this one.
Keep on rockin lobster!
Thanks Jan! Welcome! :) I have not yet but definitely looking to check them out
Can't wait to see you getting your claws on this one. For me, it is a beauty, but not really cheap, so an honest sound check would be great.
Just lower the front bank of coils to help balance the bridge pup. I do think this is a beautiful bass.
The leaning pickup of Pizza ;P
The song of time being abruptly cut off, followed by a "thanks" is always my favorite part lol
.... Thanks! ;P
Nordstrand has a MM pickup exactly like this with a JB side, i think it would be perfect on this, agree with you about the tone knob, it's silly. Great vid.
Thanks Vince!
Was hoping this episode was about cats and beards! Oh well this bass sounds pretty good.
LOL Thanks Ty! Bebe's been much more into producing the episodes than starring in them as of recent - meaning she just sits in my computer chair and falls asleep haha
Thanks! I was looking at this bass (online) when Cort introduced it and found it intriguing. I was hoping you would have an opportunity to look at it. To summarize, it was a good idea, but the execution just comes up short.
Thanks Matthew! Indeed
The humbucker looks the same as the Wilkinson WJM humbucker which is a Jazz coil & a MM coil... I use one on my Fender Jazz in the middle (neck) position... with a dual coil split, the single coils on mine are very quiet used on their own... sweet tones... That's a nice versatile bass with nice electronics as well as a usable passive sound... i like it... nice neck and sweet punchy tones....
Thanks Christopher!
Im fairly certain the reason why the bridge pickup is noisy is because both coils have the same polarity so they both hum cancel with the P bass pickup.
Lobster, where can you even buy Cort basses in the States?
Great review!
There's a few dealers though honestly pricing on Thomann seems quite a bit better even with shipping
Cool
Mod this one!!!
Already sold it, wasn't to keen to mod it. We do have some mod projects on the horizon though ;)
I would buy one of these used but not for the new price; I think that it sounded very good.
Thanks Keith!
I agree
Thanks Emma!
Thanks, L
Thanks for watching Goat!
this thing is bizzare. I like it. for the price point it might just win as my 2nd bass.
Thanks Junk!
Get a giggity pedal and use te active settings to get some of the lost tonal flexibility. I don't feel te lost tone control to be a deal breaker. I had a pair of fretted/ fretless Ibanez musician series bass w active passive setup and loved them. Everyone should own an eq pedal either graphic or parametric by now. All it needs is a balance control between te pickups ad a toe control switched into the active circuit. If it feels good in the hands and plays we'll then everything else can be made to suit the owners needs. It's small stuff if it makes it into the one bass that meets your needs. It's been a long time since I was satisfied with one bass and one amp.
Thanks Flybaby!
I have never seen a tone control on a active bass, what is common is for the bass and treble feature not to work in passive mode. So the addition of a tone control in passive mode is designed correctly. (for me)
Thanks BP!
Hey Lobster, great review! I kind of wish I’d seen it before I bought the bass. I really enjoy playing it. Very comfortable and has a really nice tone!
I have found the electronics to be noisy. The guitar tech that has looked at it believes it is the preamp. I’m just wondering if I was to see about replacing it with the same preamp if it may make a difference (kind of thinking not as everyone seems to mention the noise) or if you have a suggestion for a preamp replacement that will fit and would work with this configuration. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thank you so much! It all in all is a nice bass!
Hey Steve! I don't believe the preamp is the culprit and is likely the pickups and shielding. TBH I'd replace it all to be sure. Preamp wise, I'd recommend a John East in this application and you can go with whatever pickups you fancy.
@@LowEndLobster thanks Lobster 🦞
I see your point about the pre-amp LEL. I wonder if this can be fixed. I do like the look and the tone of this bass. It's a cool looking and sounding instrument - flaws aside.
Thanks Al! It definitely can, the stock wiring diagram is available online. I don't think it would be that difficult to mod in that particular fashion.
I have this bass, looks great with a black pick guard. According to the schematics on the cort website this bass has a Sandberg preamp
This is no more than marketing trick. If you dig a little deeper, it turns out that Sandberg haven't ever produce such preamps. The same story for MarkBass preamps in A- and B- series basses. Just a fake.
Yep, definitely just branding - I agree, it's silly to use the name of another brand to leverage the quality of a mostly unrelated product
@@timmikhailouski8961 Interesting, that explains why its so hissy haha
Is the hum as bad as this makes out? I'm thinking of getting one. 👍
3 basses in one and they all sound good to me.
Thanks Redjet!
A cool mod for this bass would be to replace the tone knob with a stacked knob for treble and tone, then drop in a 3-band preamp that does bass, mid and treble and that also allows the tone control to work in active mode. And change the pickups of course.
That's an idea! Thanks Reid!
Favorite part every time is when drums end. ×2 today lucky Sunday
I think there's a vid where you get a triple end coming up soon ahahaha. good times ;P
My dude! One of the Sub series mod vids you started singing/narrating what your girlfriend was doing and matching it to some chops. Frigin hilarious
@@JustNodIfYouCanHearMe77 XD Glad you enjoyed that! We have so much fun just goofing around
Hey Lobster I'm sure the noise is coming from the 2 unequal coils. It looks like a nice bass though . Maybe a conventional MM style pickup and a Dimarzio P pickup would be good mod .
Indeed, the bridge pickup is very unbalanced. Agree on the conventional MM for the bridge
Unfortunately a MM pickup needs to be in the correct position. This one is too close to the bridge
I'd be interested in how that sounds. Might be pretty cool, then again make not. Needs to be done "for science".
would really like to see it being modded too :D And somehow i'm also curious if "better" shielding will also reduce the noise.
hi lobster, when a video mod, when swap that music man style pickup? cheers
I really like the concept of this bass, warts and all. I wish it came in other finishes though… the blue isn’t really doing it for me
Thanks Gino! I know what you mean. I dig the color but not the color scheme if that makes any sense
It's a difficult task to merge 3 legendary sounds in 1 bass. The old German-made Clover Apeiron HP.4 basses had very similar pickup and control layout, but they utilize the unique Delano Hybrid pickup system.
Thank you Gabor! Those Delano hybrid pickups look awesome, and are likely much better executed. I plan on trying one out (though not in this bass)
Excellent vids….but we haven’t seen any CATS lately 👀
It's funny, Bebe has been more keen on sitting on the 'producer's chair' (the one by my computers) and taking a nap lately haha
@@LowEndLobster so Bebe IS the “behind the Camera” Producer now?
I hope you still read new comments, because I have a few questions now that I've watched this for the second time:
1. It amazes me to see attempts of hybrid mashups of established instruments. Do you think it is possible to balance the outputs of the two halves of the bridge pickup? What can be done to reduce their hum?
2. About the preamp: would it be possible to wire it in a way that the passive tone knob is always acting on the circuit (or it would be pointless, since there is already an active treble knob)?
3. Would this bass be improved with a 3-band eq instead of the 2-band eq + passive tone knob?
Again, thanks in advance! Some day I'll be able to have a wall of basses like yours :-)
Heyo! I do!
1. Probably? I know Delano makes a similar pickup. Perhaps I'll test that in the future.
2. Yes, but it would be a pain to rewire
3. Improvement is really dependent on the player and their preferences and what they want out of the instrument. Either config should be find.
So glad you're enjoying the content!
Hey Lobster! Thanks yet again for the quick reply - I'm waiting to see the ideas you come up with to mod that Cort ✌🏼
Yo, it would be neat to see you review a schecter stealth 4, it has a similar pickups configuration
Great suggestion!
@@LowEndLobster actually i'm just in the process of buying a new bass. Gonna be either the cort gb74gig or the schecter stiletto stealth. Really happy to see a review of the cort from you, but would be infinitly happier to see a review of both basses from the same person! :)
A very good Review , thanks... But the Cort is to Expensive ?
It just spreads itself a little thin. The hardware and build is great but the electronics are so-so.
Would be interesting to see if the Delano Hybrid pickups have the same noise/balance issues.
I doubt they would, but can't say for sure. I'll try and snag one or those for the pickup tester series!
As Brando said " could've been a contender".With a bit of forethought that is. I'm in the same boat as you on developing my pick playing after decades of finger style. Please share any tips that have helped.Me I just sit watching TV and pick it unplugged. Then I hear Bobby Vega and become depressed.lol
Thanks Kev! In regards to pick technique, ruclips.net/user/ivanbassist has some very solid insight. He's a great player who has a lot to share, definitely recommend subscribing
Purrrrrty
Let's gooooo!
@@LowEndLobster that’s correct lol
Good review thanks. I just don’t know why you want a tone to work with the pre-amp? Surely the only time the tone is required is when the bass is in passive mode? I don’t like the MM pickup affair at all, it’s a pointless system. A standard MM style or soap bar of some decent brand in the MM position would be great. The P pup sounds very good. I think they have tried to be too clever with this bass on the whole. It’s rather dull looking aesthetically as well. I find that in general with Cort, they haven’t got a decent looking bass in there catalogue in my opinion. They are a bit pipe and slippers!
Thanks Keith! I absolutely love the tone shaping that comes with a passive tone control and a multi band preamp (two or three, doesn't matter to me!). It's a personal preference, but from a perspective of wasted space I think they missed an opportunity here with the dedicated control. I agree with you on the aesthetics as well. I like the color, but the white pickguard and overall aesthetic make it feel bland. Great comment!
i´m attracted to this bass, even with all its faults. i guess i like the looks and pickup configuration. it´s a shame the control configuration is a mess.
Thanks Sebastian!
I am not a big one for mods, but if I bought this bass, I would buy a standard Music Man style pickup and a three band preamp with a passive bypass. It would make a nice poor man’s Sandberg VM-5.
Great comment! We also have a (borrowed) Sandberg coming soon :). I appreciate your thoughts and agree.
I've been eyeing those Sandbergs too! They always sound a little TOO sterile and clean to me in online demos. I don't want to play fusion, I need some warmth
throw in emg mmhz and wire it to series/ parallel/and split, add an emg p bass pickup and add an emg bqc preamp and add a passive/active push pull knob with passive tone... then this would be fixed...so 1 vol for mm plus 3 way switch for mm modes, 1 vol for p, 2 concentric for b+t and m/m and 1 push pull for active/passive mode with tone.
Oh man, Ray! That's a killer idea.
i actually considered doing this this to a bass i was gonna build with a warmoth pbass body a jbass neck and a p in the neck and a mm in the bridge with the wiring as described before, but now im gonna change that for 2x mm instead of pbass pu...
What a shame about that redundant knob. I have an Ibanez with a Nordstrand P/J pickup config. When in passive mode, as you've observed, the treble knob acts as a very effective tone knob. I wrote to you a couple of months ago requesting you to do a review which on the face of it, is a very interesting instrument. Great concept, let down by a few design howlers. Perhaps, I'll pick one up secondhand and do some mods - especially with that tone circuit and the pickups. But thanks for this review, it made me decide that this bass (at £550 rp in the UK), just wasn't for me. I've just acquired what may as well be a brand new G&L M-2000 Tribute - in excellent condition. All's well that ends well but again, a real shame that this Cort falls short of expectations. I hope someone at the factory sees this review and takes note. Thanks and regards, Chris.
Great review lobster. On paper this bass should be great, but I think the design is flawed, and the strange bridge pickup 🤷♂️
Thanks Ryan!
I would have to say a jack of all trades bass for me and being a stingray fan boy, would be a 55 02
Indeed!
Just a suggestion. Could you also possibly talk about weight & balance with these instruments. I hardly ever see weight under specifications on most basses. From the dealer that is. Just a thought! 👍✌️
Thanks Lee! I've been getting better at remembering, hahaha. I usually try to mention it but forgot a bunch in earlier vids lol.
@@LowEndLobster Thank you Sir! Much appreciated. I’m a little older as well, neck & back problems. And no worries…. I call it selective memory! Excellent job as always! 👍✌️❤️
this cort gb74 and cort a4 plus which one to choose?
please tell me what you use to cut off the background pickup noise ;-;
Hey Stefan! I don't use anything. What you hear is the DI out from the amp, no effects or compensation for anything.
A poor-man Sadowsky. Cort GB series just amazing and absolutely underated. Just forget those Indonesian Squier Classic Vibe and Contemporary series......
Need mention that, the GB64J, 74/75JJ/JH and this 74gig all has a bit overly bright sounding especially while a fresh set of bass string install. Once, string get break in, the bass tone able retain a great amount sparkling tone and clarity instead muddy and dead tone.
Thanks Totomo!
do a review of the epiphone embassy!
It's coming this Sunday :). Stay tuned!
@@LowEndLobster oh wow i definitely will!
The tone to me was just kinda meh, not bad but also nothing special. As soon as the video started I saw that control layout and could tell that was going to be an issue. Some of the Sire 2s and 5s you’ve recently reviewed I thought sounded better, were more versatile and were cheaper. The construction and materials may be a bit better with the Cort but what good is that when you have those glaring electronics and control issues. Just give me that passive Sire V5 Jazz bass you reviewed! It’s simple, sounds great and can cover just about anything without all the poorly implemented electronic doodads!
Thanks Michael! Great comment. I agree about the V5- for less money you get a much more well rounded instrument without the features/gimmicks that the cort offers in the GB74GIG.
Cort today make better basses, cort curbow is a trash!!!!!,but this !! Is beautiful, good construction! But The preamp can be better ,one great Brand, bartolini!!! But not mki1,bartolini s fake ,remember the Yamaha s atittude? Great Review lobster !!! As ever ! Expire all aspects from Bass, congratulations, perfect Review ! Ill your fan!!!!!cheers from Brasil! Peace and sucess ever !!
Thank you my friend :)
It’s so annoying that a bass that looks as good as this has such basic flaws!!
Yup! Well said Rev
The positioning of the bridge hybrid pickup ruins it for me. It's too close to the bridge to produce Music Man style sound and I prefer 60's Jazz bridge placement than 70's. Half an inch away from the bridge would make a huge positive difference, at least for me.
About Ibanez and their passive tone control fused with the active highs adjustment: I own one and it's a bit problematic because the passive tone control has all its adjustment near the end of the rotational range. The response is non-linear and it's a pain to get the tone you want, especially when you want to cut lots of highs - it's so easy to cut them more than you want - you need micrometric movements with your fingers to get it right.
Thank you Marios! I appreciate your insight on the tone control
I had one and it was great, but sadly I returned it due to the super noisy preamp.
Thanks for sharing your experience GF!
Cort,Sterling and Yamaha so much bang for your buck.
Thanks Iggy!
very good maybe needs just a rewire job to get the right variations of sounds. Seems like a music man/P to me. Not a great variation of tones on it to my ears
What are the bridge pickup resistance values?
Great question Stephen! I don't have that info. We may start looking at that in the future though.
@@LowEndLobster to get 'resistance' numbers.
Guitar cord and multi meter.
No chance its phase issue?
Indeed, I got both!
This thing boils down to taste!! f’_’ ) IMO!!..oh! Geez!!😬Sorry❗️Ya’ may frown at the use of “Boils”🦞 huh??🤭😬 Ah~I’m thinkin’ it is an..“all ‘rounder” for the price but it WILL need some serious PU Shielding ⚡️done for that noise issue‼️(-_-! ) …and LowEnd Lobster!..don’t you think Cort was just going after a simple set up to “go Passive” when desired?? ..as in use one or the other of the provided Tone Control capabilities!!?? Plus,..I’d like to agree that Cort should’ve just went with the ACTUAL MusicMan vibe and had gone with that PU and thus may get to sell way more of ‘em eh! I mean,..imagine just how many Bassists in the world want a good P-Bass tone & a Stingray!!…May have been just that Combo right here‼️But,..that commented,..a lil’ more money invested could make that a reality with a rear PU swap and possibly down the road a Pre Amp swap as well wielding a PU reconfiguration huh!!?? (This all may place the total cost to over the $1000.oo range f-_-! ) tho’ eh!!??) The Bass could possibly be worth it from a stand point that if one is a Pro & has to tour a lot to land / keep gigs and may need the versatility in {ONE Bass only wit’cha } type of situation to cover those gigs! 🙄😒Anyway ,..I WAS kinda impressed in the way it sounded!! Has potential ☺️👌🏾IMO!! Go LowEnd Lobster!! 👍🏾😄…the jokes are corny…(remember that term?..🤔) ..but that’s the appeal of your channel!! See Ya’ next time you run wit’ sumthin’ that “claws” 🦞my interest ok! b(‘_< )✨🎸🎶
LOL always appreciate a good pun. Thank you Flames!
What's the deal with that top knob halfway in the guard. That just looks like bad design.
Yeah I really dislike the control layout
I'm not sure why but to me that bass just dosent make sense.
I love Cort and their quality I really like the sound of that P pickup and even thr humbucker tone but thr whole bass just does not make sense to me what they're trying to achieve with it. They want versatility but it doesn't seem to do anything GREAT.
I wouldn't take it for the P pickup or thr hums. It just seems like a jack of all trades, master of none.
I do love the PH config they're trying to promote with this bass but to me it seems more like an experiment
I really wanna see a second gen of this bass with a Humbucker a little away from the bridge and instead of the switchable situation with the coils, maybe something more like just a standard humbucker
Thank you Hetul!
I had the version that had the Jazz at the neck and the MM at the bridge. Bass was well finished and decent but when I went to move it on, I lost my shirt on it. Terrible re sale value.
Thanks Jerry! Yeah Corts generally don't resell very well for some reason, even though some Cort made instruments under other brands do - which is kind of funny
The jack off of all trades..
Pretty cool bass for what it is. I really like the 3 way switch it reminds me of the 55 02 I think that is a very cool option. I do agree with the tone knob probably a cool beginner bass tho I like the color with the maple, great honest review like always 🦞 🤟 maybe throw a tone monster in it!
Do you still have your 55 02?
Thanks Jeremy! I do not but I plan on snagging one of the new ones this fall/winter with the roasted maple necks!
@@LowEndLobster oh awesome!!! They are so beautiful!! Can’t wait to see it!! Your the man!
For a p bass player it looks too flexible on the controls.
I think you are whinging about the tone control WAAAYY too much, its a feature NOBODY else provides but maybe Sire, yet because its one extra knob you must have mentioned it 15 times!! I was really getting annoyed by it to be honest because to me its a non issue.....it STILL.has MANY more options than 90 percent of the basses put there tonally AND is high quality components and construction?
I'd buy one!
I just think it's silly to have a dedicated control for something that is not functional. The control setup is cramped, and having a tone knob that doesn't work is IMO a waste of space or functionality.
Papa called himself a jack of all trades. Hiis lack of financial stability would send momma to an early grave.

Cort makes a good percentage of cheap to mid price instruments lol
@@ileutur6863 they seem like they have good craftsmanship and a good value, unlike renting furniture.
You guys missed the joke. In the US, Cort is a rent to own furniture company. But yeah, not a very good joke though...😁.

@@longdongbongchong I think they got the joke and that my dad joke of the day was quite good.
A humbucker bucks the hum. So noisey? That can only be two things. No good ground. Or your gainstructure is too hot. You should have plugged into the active input of the amplifier.
It's actually neither. The humbucker here is imbalanced, meaning the J and MM portions are not "hunbucking" fully resulting in noise. Usually a humbucker is two of the same single coils but one is reversed polarity, however the hum cancelling abilities diminish when the coils are mismatched.
@@LowEndLobster are there dipswitches inside?
@@FransvandenBergeMuziekschuur no
@@LowEndLobster that’s too bad. But such things can easily be modified.
Must say. She sounds punchy and really allround. It will make alot of people happy.
Would love to open her up and do some modifications to extend the feature set. Some push pull pots and switches would make it even more versatile.
