Dang those are some big roadtrains. As Commander Riker (ST-TNG) once said..."You guys don't do anything small, do you?" ;) Australia is like Texas on steroids!
Im a fuel truck driver in the US. Im really interested in the fuel trucks /road trains and this video has a lot of them. Thank you. I'll share this with my co-workers..Roger
Roger Gordon I love RoadTrains, I’m going to drive truck when I turn 18 and visit Australia when I have the money/time, I probably would go just to watch the RoadTrains 😂
Sealed beam headlights and massive forward facing air intakes sitting high above the roof of the truck are two big visual differences between Aussie trucks and the trucks we regularly see here in Canada. We are just starting to allow doubles on the roadways here. Never actually seen a full on four trailer road train in person - amazing!!
We ve Seen a bunch of roadtrains from Townsville to Mt. Isa (Qld) during our travel Absolutely stunning And one driver told me, it's not even that hard to drive, it's all about experience Best regards from Germany
I did Stuart Highway, pass and beeing passed by these truck at 130km/h are damn good feeling. 1 driver told me that he drives from Darwin to Adelaide (3000km) in 2 days, take a day off then go back - just crazy
I did Karratha (on the Indian Ocean) to Cairns (on the Pacific Ocean) in three and a half days - just under 4500 km. It's a long way between nowhere and nowhere.
I live in Australia, and have toured a few times in the U.S, and often wondered why you don't use road trains there. The U.S.A is bigger than Australia, and there's a lot of empty land with good roads. Why the restrictions? Even b doubles are rare.
No in oman these long vehicles doesn't exist but i really am surprised to see such a massive road trains run on Australia Do these drivers have different license? I mean how they control these vehicles and how they reverse these vehicles
thanks again for the awesome video mate.. I do not know what to write to you. love your videos so much. I'm a regular user on your channel which is awesomeness. looking forward to many more videos from you
I think what people from overseas don't understand, is that in Ausrtralia, all heavy vehicles have dedicated haulage routes, pending set up and permits.
The Scania at 3.52 was twin steer tri drive pulling four full tri axle trailers with three tri axle dollies totalling 26 axles and 100 tyres on the road.

I don't get it, when I was child I connect a lot of car, and the back section didn't walk aligned with front one, but this truck with massive load seems have no problem. I still don't get it how the back section didn't loose control.

Wouldn't I love to be up there in the cab behind the wheel hauling 3 or 4 trailers going through the gears. I have only pulled two 20 foot containers in a train but now here in Ontario Canada they haul two 53 foot trailers in a train but not the weights that you lads haul.
They kinda killed off the railways over here, rails is always far better economically and safer, just to many remote places, but Australia should have better rail system
Look at the Mack Titan. Its a widely used truck for this application in this environment and it is specified to haul multiple trailers with a combined weight of up to 200 tons. How is a Hino 700 supposed to do that?

Excelente video :) :) Muchas gracias :))
Love seeing these massive pulls, especially the tankers (like at 4:05). You surely can't do that here in the US!
Buddy Mack true but here in the US our truck driver's pull double 53 ft trailers call turnpike doubles
That's true but only in certain states... for instance, in Texas you can't have triples... nor can you have turnpike doubles there

Awesome. I can't imagine being a driver of these rigs. It has to be very nerve racking.

Very cool to see the road trains! Great vid!

Awesome! nice trucks! i would like to see Road Trains in Argentina.
@Leo Maybe, but that's only on the west side of my country, the east is flatter.

Imagine if a caravan pulled out in front of one of these trucks while there doing 100kph
Goodbye caravan and probably the tow vehicle as well.
It's happend before I heard a story not too long ago about something like that

@@Scarlett-sl6gj
I just would like to say that I'm sorry that you didn't get an argument.
But at least you got my comment for consolation.
This Scania is the Scania that pulls the largest tonnage on an open road (about 200 tons)
Wow that's a lot of tri drive trucks
Very true Daryl!
@@OzOutbackchannel can you upload twin steer trucks?

Self tracking trailers - essentially the front set of wheels on each trailer 'steers' or tracks independently.
nice vieo from eastern Canada (province of Quebec)

Can you make a video of how they hook the train
Hi juan, we can certainly try they're usually already hooked up where we are though, will keep an eye out!

How can you possibly carry enough spare tires ?
Do they reverse
Didn't see to many Ozy owned rig there.
I would surely hate to be hung up on one of these bull bars. I guess the Aussies have figured that this is cheaper and more convent than a railroad.
It's a cost thing. Putting in rail and maintaining it would be staggering in cost when you consider the outback is about 4 million square kilometers.
They kinda killed off the railways over here, rails is always far better economically and safer, just to many remote places, but Australia should have better rail system
In Oz they're called Roo bars not bull bars.

Train crossing? More like truck crossing.
