      its definitely not worth it if you dont inherently enjoy the process of setting all these outposts up, some ppl do, but if you just want the xp its not worth it. plenty of other xp farms. i like to use my outposts in more passive ways where maybe i wanna get a lvl or two ill spam craft something but for the nost part its just for having all resources there if i want and slight base buiilding for fun@@sequoia1171

    For anyone who's going to attempt this beast of a multi-build, I have ONE tip:
    Try initially, or throughout your build, to upgrade your power sources to minimize your amount of entities. Put simply, have as few as possible structures which gives more power; ideally advanced nuclear generators. They give 100 power each per 1 unit, instead of like 33 windmills giving 3 power each (just an example).
    It'll drastically reduce the toll on your game, your rig, reduce savefile and memory bloat. It's just all around a good thing to always have in the back of your head. Accumulate certain parts throughout your build, take note of what to buy, get a decent cargo ship, invest in the skill that gives +50% cargo space for EACH cargo bay.
    Every little bit helps to reduce the toll, even the smallest of things.
    Remember you can't transport more than your cargo links can carry, so no reason to go overkill on extractors. Rather invest in skill to double extraction speed for all extractors, get the better extractors and fewer of them, instead of tons of lvl 1 extractors.
    You don't need insane towers of storage if you can only transport x amount of resources and you're filling them up before they empty. Try to get a balance in production vs transport, having the tiniest of surplus is enough, as long as you're not running dry.
    You can build it all then clean up along the way and upgrade, or simply plan it out and prepare with better parts initially. Both methods are viable.

    • @DumpsterJedi
      @DumpsterJedi Год назад +2

      Yeah, I was gonna say, Storage > Extractor since you can 100x the wait time. It is kinda funny he talked about transportation limits in the beginning then overbuilt each base... If it's true that cargo links don't run on wait time, then that will always be the bottleneck with something like this.

    • @nicholaswarner3633
      @nicholaswarner3633 Год назад +4

      I personally got major latency spikes from the sheer number of interstellar transpos in the outposts on console. It may be somewhat redundant but I'm revising the outposts for automation and built a freighter to haul the major components to a production site rather than using multiple transpos.

    • @Easyflux
      @Easyflux Год назад

      @@DumpsterJedi Yeah, the cargo links will always be the bottleneck for sure. The fact that there's no way, skill or anything you can do to influence their efficiency what so ever is just mind boggling. You'd think the future where we're jumping from system to system like it's nothing we've solved the problem of transportation 😂

    • @Easyflux
      @Easyflux Год назад +1

      @@nicholaswarner3633 Idunno bout that tbh, that's going to be many trips back and forth for what feels like small chunks of exp. As janky as the cargo links are, and they are some real janky boiis.. it's still somewhat automated in a sense. The problem is that they're not tied to wait time, so it's constantly being calculated, and in realtime too. Terrible for game performance. If only they were treated like extractors and just acted as a pipeline from one planet to another. Nothing mods won't fix though, given enough time.

      To me in my mind he literally wins the game with this kind of complexity production setup. Because this is on a whole different level, several levels higher in complexity with spreadsheets needed to accomplish this kind of production logistics. This is winning the game without playing the main story. It is no small feat the sheer amount of work and brain power required to do this without going a bit insane doing it all. Just damn fun to watch though as a video. I do outpost production and setup, but at barely even 10% of what Kibbles is doing at lvl 50.

  • @ardentdfender4116
    @ardentdfender4116 Год назад +15

    Even if you never ever do this in Starfield with Outposts, you have to honestly marvel at the sheer complexity of it all and the ingenuity to ponder and get this all done in very complex logistics. Because this is all complex to setup and get done and probably not drive your self insane setting it all up as well. But if you do really pay attention to this entire video, you will learn an immense amount about Outposts Production setup all in this one video and all the tips kibbles puts out just explaining what he’s doing. I’m doubting the game Devs expected anyone to take Outposts Production Logistics and Manufacturing to this level of sheer complexity. But it’s damn great you can do this in the game even with all the bugs and things that can still be improved over time fixing the game. As a former EveOnline player that used to do complex planetary production management with lots of spreadsheets, I just marvel at all this in Starfield that someone has figured out and mastered. This video just wins the entire game.

    However, 19 outposts for this is far from optimal. There is exactly one system in the game -- Narion -- that has all required resources, other than solvent and the two uniques, and that's where you want to go. Below is the most efficient setup, it only takes 7 outposts. Even if one builds everything twice, as you do, that's only 14 outposts in total, and a lot less convoluted.
    Decaran VII-b: Vytinium -> Grimsey (1 in, 1 out)
    Katydid III: Indicite -> Grimsey (1 in, 1 out)
    Codos (Cheyenne): Solvent -> Grimsey (1 in, 1 out)
    Dalvik (Narion): Caesium -> Grimsey (1 out)
    Kreet (Narion): Silver -> Cruth; Helium -> Grimsey, Codos, Decaran VII-b, Katydid III (5 out)
    Cruth (Narion): Antimony + Copper + Gold = Zero Wire, Semimetal Wafer -> Grimsey (1 in, 1 out)
    Grimsey (Narion): Plutonium + Uranium = Indicite Wafer, Nuclear Fuel Rod, Vytinium Fuel Rod (6 in)

      Great work. I made a comment myself just a while ago asking Kibbles that he should investigate if there is a single 1 system where all this production logistics can take place, thus less relying on Interstellar Cargo Links and the issues you can have with them all and Helium 3. If no such system exist, then keeping it to a minimal if possible to rely on an additional system for the other few resources that would be still ok as it’s minimal. But the setup would be far less chaotic and cleaner. But great work in figuring out much of this can be done in the Narion system.

      Have encountered something similar. Put down an Outpost, pirate ship landed close by just outside Outpost perimeter and where I can easily see it as well. Boarded and killed everyone on the Stiletto ship, but couldn’t captain it even though I’ve also stolen the exact same ship before. So I just decided to just leave the ship there. No other pirate ship has since landed anywhere around the outpost perimeter. However, I do think it has caused some issue in being able to land my own ship at the very same Outpost. Have placed a small and large landing pad but my ship still can’t land at the Outpost, but about 300 meters away in other direction. What I’ve had to do was after building the big landing pad with ability to modify ship, I was able to switch ships as home and it then appeared on the landing pad. Then I just switch back to the ship I wanted. It’s a work around. But I haven’t yet gone back to that outpost yet since to know if landing can now be triggered at the big landing pad. However, in my view out from outpost is the pirate ship as part the landscape view.

    A tip for those having CARGO LINK problems: A lot of the times, the first time a cargo ship arrives after you activate it, it'll be empty. Wait for it to complete a second trip. Most often, the second time it arrives, it'll have the cargo on it. If it arrives empty a second time, it's time to trouble shoot. But don't think it's bugged just because it arrived empty on its first trip.

    You called and I will answer; you're welcome to pin this and have your viewers help dissect what I'll have to say if you'd like, but lets get to it ye? ~
    Was anything I said, at any point, wrong? Have you yourself not seen or used even to a lesser extent the very practices I criticize? Because I will say I find it wildly amusing that you mention I'm calling people out but neglect to explain what exactly I called people out for.
    Setups may vary, sure and that's something I discuss in the video there are ways to cut down on outposts or further optimize and/or increase production, but the farm and the burst xp are the same - it's just a matter of prolonging the burst window and even still there are ways yet to improve the burst window even more beyond this and you know it but the burst xp range will never change. You didn't even explain how to properly reach the 300k that you advertise but I'll admit I'm happy that at least for once you advocated bed usage instead of the bench(a truly insane hallmark of your past videos, so I appreciate that and finally getting Caesium down and this isn't sarcasm) even if just the bed will never let you reach 300k which you neglect to mentionl.
    I don't mind that you've gone and prolonged the burst window and if that's all it were I wouldn't have minded but I don't believe for a second that this video is anything but a response to mine. Adamant as you are in your comments responding to others saying you came up with this on your own, you can at least admit that your video was *heavily* influenced by mine and if you can't do that then I guess I give up here and now on a discussion. File date means nothing and surely you recognize that.
    Speaking of calling out though, you are not actually the target of my criticism at the start of my video though you do absolutely have practices I think are BS/bait/etc, I'll just paste a segment from a discussion I had in my comments, below here. In the future, if the shoe fits you're welcome to lace it up and I'll never mind that nor if you want to call me out yourself, but do a better job of it. You wanna say yours is better at least say why yours is better instead of giving a generic "bc I said so" because while I understand what you've done you're misleading the viewers into believing your farm is meaningfully different and depending on the perspective we can argue it is from the idea of a raw xp burst window, it is no different in regards to the end result xp/min which is the benchmark you are so fond of touting, and my video was never about anything but that.
    ~~~~Segment from comments discussion~~~~
    "Presumably you are referencing kibbles. While I do have gripes about him and his practices specifically, he is probably the creator I am the LEAST frustrated with and while he is technically part of all my complaints in some regards, he is NOT my target in the beginning of this video.
    If I have 2 major gripes about kibbles, they are the following
    1) Video length, given what I just talked about above. A 50min guide makes me want to plant my skull through a wall, especially when it doesn't NEED to be that long. I already wept at how long my own video was which is why I joked about that at the end of the vid, but the length was the bare minimum to achieve everything I wanted to.
    2) He stopped at indicite wafers, and I already covered in this video why that seems crazy to me and it just seems like a lot of peeps didn't research properly on what options were available but it is what it is, I feel THIS snark in particular is deserved on all fronts no matter who it is.
    Honorable mention) Caesium pronunciation
    On the flip side though, Kibbles is actually the ONLY person who actually did their math correctly, if only for their claim(obv not what they showed in game). Indicite wafers do actually net around 140k if I remember right(don't remember exactly what ranges wafers offered but I did obv work out all the possible crafting options before arriving at this setup) and that is the reason kibbles is probably the only starfield creator that gets any amount of respect from me even if his videos make me wanna die."
    Finally finished this and the game got pretty laggy on my PC, it was really cool to build, but the glitches, slow down, chopiness and stuff made me realize that a smaller build of indicite wafers or something like that would have been better to do(my PC is not the best)..... I feel bad for xbox people and definitely something smaller would work better for people in that situation...... I would like to give 3 tips, 1. there are mods for PC that speed up extractors, increase max outposts and make containers and cargo links hold more items, super helpful..... 2. When you are done and after getting to level 328 to max out all skill points, just unhook/ turn off all cargo links and all the slowdown and chopiness will go away, you do not have to tear down every outpost. I'm keeping mine in case I need to use them again when the DLC comes out. 3. I kept running into different bottlenecks and problems and was getting very frustrated, I added machines, fixed cargo links, added more containers etc... I got it running better, but kept getting bottlenecks of Nuclear rods, plutonium, indicite wafers, cesium, etc..... usually the nuclear rods...... at some point, you should just go to the places that have what has run out and got stuck and just build it yourself and/or bring it there, in about 4-5 hours of doing this along with the main vytinium rods, I got to lvl 328..... I leveled up a lot and got plenty of experience by building indicite wafers, nuclear rods, semimetal wafers, etc...
    The cool thing about this is that you really feel like you are getting the most out of the outpost system, if it was less glitchy and my PC was a lil stronger, it probably would have gone down smoother, but it was still a worthwhile project............. If all you care about is leveling up and skill points and you dont want to learn too much about outposts, just do one of the wafers or maybe even adaptive frames in an outpost with macros/ turbo button.............. or command console......
I've been thinking that the cargo links are breaking my game, but it may be the fact that I've made gigantic storage containers. The stuttering and freezing has gotten a lot better since I turned off a bunch of my cargo links, but I may be able to improve the situation drastically by rebuilding some of these storage stacks. Hmm
If your having problems with lag and the game freezing up it's actually all the cargo links that screw it up and not the storage containers. I had this whole thing set up and it was unplayable. Or as less as possible in the logistics chain. It would likely require a system with lots of planets and moons with a diverse array of resources across the entire system to start with.
      Narion has the silver, gold, antimony, copper, uranium, caesium and plutonium. Then you just import the Solvent from Cheyenne-Codos, the Indicite from Katydid-Katydid III and the Vytnium from Decaran-Decaran VII-b. I am not sure how to balance the quantities required for each stage, but it should be simple enough to keep each individual resource and produced item in their own storage, so you do not end up with items hogging all the space.
    when i first start a ng+ now, I go to an outpost and tag all the things i need to build level 3 extractors, robots, reactors, greenhouses and anything i need for a generic outpost. Then those items are highlighted for the rest of the game, and i buy all of them from every vendor i run into while i play. once you do the research to unlock the higher end modules, things get easier.
    so.. kibbles..
    I get you. I did a vyntium rod plant on my last NG+, and i felt like I had conquered the outpost part of this game. I did mine different, and i never paid attention to the amounts coming in from each cargo link, but i got it to work.
    Id recommend that you now try the bio version of the same base. Anyone can see in the industrial workbench that there are quite a few other items that require a rare bio component. one of those may yield even greater results.
    I also want to add in something since you mentioned you had a freighter ship at the beginning of the video. Vyntium is a limiting factor for xp in this farm, and it wouldnt hurt to pick up and transport your own load of say.. 20k vyntium when you go to make the final load of xp.
    • @VideoGameDataBank
      @VideoGameDataBank  Год назад +2
      the problem with doing that for vytinium is that the only fast way to pick up the vytinium is to build a quick outpost of it then delete the outpost. Vytinium actually isn't a limiting factor at all in this farm, I just have a sleeping bag next to the workbench and sleep for 2 hours between crafts and all my vytinium storage is full again. Also I was thinking about doing other ones for fun at some point, but damn the amount of time these late game ones take is absolutely crazy. This one took 10 hours of research and planning and then 30 hours or something to make it, record the clips, do the video editing, etc. But I will try to do more stuff in the future.
    Still limited to how fast fuel rods ship with this setup.
    One plutonium line can supply three rod lines (187 Pu : 60*3 rods) unfortunately two wafer lines then becomes the limiter bringing in only 75*2.
    That setup still increases the xp per hr by 25% being able to turnover 150 units per shipment vs the 120 with equal lines.
    Theoretical maximum units per line is sending packets of 28 Pu, 28 nuc rod, 28 wafer resulting in 168 units turned over per shipment per outpost.
    However achieving that max has proven challenging to source the correct resources to produce all from single outposts such that packets can actually be sent in the correct ratio.
    For only a 12% xp/hr gain over the semi-optimal 150 units per shipment of 1Pu:2wafer:3nuc rods incoming to each vytinium outpost.
    Comboing that with the venus trader trick should make for easy access to all the money you'd ever need in a single universe.
    Would it be worth going through and tagging the consumption of each outpost in terms of materials and optimizing further to only have say, 3-4 large storages for each material? As an example: use top tier resource gatherers, minimize the count needed for each base, and include top generators with their he3 consumption in the calculation for each he3 world to eliminate solar and wind altogether in those spaces. That way each location will have the absolute minimum number of objects built per location until you hit the final two outposts for max xp and min lag.
