Seeing all the comments let me just clarify, when I said KPOP inspired, this is referencing the music video style, the type of shots they use, graphic effects, color schemes, lighting, movements, dance segments, etc..) of course I know SB19 is a Filipino boy band and this is a Filipino song and I'm not taking that away. I'm very happy and proud of what they've done, how they started, and where they are now. Also if you feel that I'm lacking the usual energy well I haven't been sleeping well over the last couple of days :( I'm really excited to finally see their new MV and wanted to react to it ASAP as I don't want to delay this. Anyways love you peeps and thank you again, keep the feedback coming and I'll do a better reaction next time. Salamat sa inyong lahat!

Inspired by Kpop? i will share my thought also to you, consider this as my opinion,
Nobody owns shots, graphic effect, color schemes. movements , dance segments..etc
So it's not inspired by anything, c'mon everyone can do those shot in their own way, Stell, u said that he has this Kpop idol look and inspired by kpop, u wtf, Korean and Filipino are Asians, we share some similarities..i find that as an insult not a compliment,I have so many things to said, but na,sorry to interrupt, u don't deserve my time

“STILL HAS THAT KPOP FEEL AND LOOK THOUGH…”. You had been reacting to SB19 long enough and we had been following you long enough that you should know by now that SB19 are not in anyway or form fitting the mold or form for the KPOP formula. For you to continue to make subtle comparisons with KPOP despite your long journey with the group’s growth is becoming tiring already. Despite your positive review of the MV, it appears that your knowledge of the group is still superficial. We Filipinos find it challenging to even classify them in anyone genre since they keep reinventing themselves and trying different musical styles in such a short amount of time. They’ve done pop (Koreans are not the only ones who can do POP and nobody owns that genre), hip-hop, rock, rap, ballads, EDM, big band, etc. The group deliberatly sang almost entirely in Filipino to raise the flag of PPOP and in one short sentence you had reduced them again as KPOP wannabees. It’s a subtle slap on the face for all upcoming PPOP artists

Uh no! It would be such an insult to PABLO who wrote this Filipino song, Justin who was the creative director for this music video and the members for their choreography - putting in all their creative efforts and energy just for YOU to say “still KPop inspired.” Has music not existed before kpop??
In the words of PABLO, “A lot of people still doubt us, denouncing everything that we do and everything we’re trying to achieve. We love what we do and that’s why we do it respectfully. ‘What’ is about self-love and empowerment. Each of us has our own flag. We should be proud of it and raise it as much as we can.”
Please don’t undermine their efforts by casually calling them “kpop inspired”. They’re trying to raise they’re own flag here! So I hope you please support them as that, a Filipino act promoting Filipino music!

It's actually "Ama, Salamat ikaw ang agimat" means Father thank you you're my amulet.
They are glorifying God in everything they do as amulet stands for something meaningful that protects you. And they are doing the metaphor that God is protecting them always.

Siguro other KPop MVs as "REFERENCE" It's differently kasi when you said "inspired"
Sample - Ken sitting in that junk-made chair is similar to some part of Fantastic video GD sitting in steel-made chair.
BUT Ken's line is something like "i'll carry my trash with me all the time"
Then wearing soldier suit. It is NOT limited to KPOP. Them wearing soldier uniform matches the lyrics something like " we dont need bullets to raise our flaga".
Remember, PH was colonized before and Filos were fighting for freedom?

Hello DENISE! Thank you for being a loyal SB19 Reactor! But scheming through the Comments below. A gentle Food for Thought: it would be Best for you to re-think before you Compare SB19 again with any K-POP Music, K-POP Boy Bands, K-POP Attires, etc. POP is Universal as with Military Uniforms, hair color, ing, etc.. You won't get to 100K SUBS with A'TIN with that kind of unexamined remarks. As a mature & fair reactor , FIRST> GO Read & Understand the Lyrics of Pinuno Pablo in the Patriotic song he brilliantly wrote before you even say whatever "impressions" you may have which are baseless. Ok? POP Music is not an Exclusive property of K-POP! The Philippines have had a long History of great Boy Bands with great Vocals. They unfortunately did not get their Company's Support. One thing you said RIGHT is the Genius Mind od Pinuno-Lyricist-Composer Pablo in his Masterful Utilization of the Literary Technic of "WORDPLAY" Or "PLAY ON WORDS"! He ALONE has tapped into this from SB19's Debut song, TILALUHA, then IKAKO, in SB19"s choosing A'TIN as their Fandom-Family's Name & now in "WHAT?".Give SB19"s Unique FILIPINO Style it's Due RESPECT!

MV is Kpop/western pop influenced also called music globalization. Best of both worlds. Equals SB19. But the song itself, it’s not KPOP inspired. I don’t think I’ve heard a patriotic Kpop song that shouts “South Korea” as part of the lyrics. Correct me if I’m wrong.

  • @mfatty_

There's definitely no "Kpop" involved in here. All the production team are Filipinos. From the writing, directing, producing, stylist, video and photography.

Not everyone in the production team is Filipino, kaps. Mixer nila si Hyun Jeong Ko of Koko Sound Studio Korea and the Grammy Award winning Master Sound Engineer si Leon Zervos from Sydney, Australia. So it's mostly Filipino. I think it's because kpop is very popular today that people tend to use them as a yardstick in their observations of other pop acts in other Asian regions.
