  • The truth about the Maria Egg memo and the Eggman and Sage dynamic in Sonic Frontiers.
These are compiled clips of Ian Flynn talking about writings the Egg Memos about Maria and the Sage and Eggman dynamic as a whole, for reference's sake. (I could've included every memo where Eggman talks about Sage in here but I only included the one Flynn explains the most here but it covers it all.)
The meanings of these memos have been debated a lot recently. People have been speculating that the memo about Maria is implying a tragic backstory of neglectful abuse, which I'm not a fan of. Flynn here says this isn't confirmed to to be the case.
People have also been interpreting the Eggman and Sage dynamic as a whole to be very pure and wholesome and possibly hinting at Eggman becoming a better person but the Egg memos very clearly imply much different. Flynn talks about that some more here and I really liked what he had to say.
It's unfortunate that a lot of people won't know about this or will choose to ignore it in favor of their own ideas of what it means. But I'm very happy that my controversial interpretations have all been supported by Ian Flynn's words now.

I love this, because it reminds me of the recent IDW Comics where Doctor Eggman finally compliments Doctor Starline (who is dead) and Tails is like "Why couldn't you have done this when he was alive, it's all he ever wanted". Eggman basically says complimenting Starline is the same as praising his own genius due to Starline utilizing his (Eggman's) technology and this is similar, Eggman "loves" Sage as way of affirming his own genius and capabilities.
    Hahahaha, I love him!

That the things Talis is right and wrong Well he in the right That Doctor eggman could've complimented his work but is in the wrong for failing to see Starline was too blinded but his own Ego and toxic fandom to see it was Never going to Happen and fail to see How much Harm Doctor starline approval seeking did to himself

I reckon when he said that it sort of implies he might've been neglected by his parents and his Grandfather was the only person he could go to but when he died that was what made the young Ivo go mad and he wants to conquer the world as not just ego and feels as if a man with IQ as high as his deserves to rule it but as revenge against humanity for what they did to his Grandfather...
