Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder
Maybe its just me,but i dont believe in the "its okay not to draw anything for a day or two". There are days where im just depressed and exhausted out of mind, and there came a point last year where i just wondered if there was any point in drawing anymore. I told myself to take a break after drawing everyday for the past couple of months and....i never picked up my pencil till now. Even just drawing a circle is considered drawing. Dont ever stop. The moment you do, a day might become a week,month or years....if the pencil scares you like it did with me, something else is wrong that needs addressing.
Clearly, you build momentum when you draw everyday and at some point it’s your routine and it’s not even a question of you will draw today or not
I feel that , yeah your probably right , but there's one thing that keep pushing me , is from the past , for example , this is just like a heart break , from that moment you feel that pain when your heart break , look back again , that's how it is, so for me that's not okay , keep your heads up and feel the moment again and use that as your courage to make it right , I know you can do it ! ,
I relate to this so much. I’ve tried everything to get back to drawing but nothing really helped...I just ended up feeling worse and more scared to mess it up to the point I’m going to drop art next year in school. I’m planning to try to it keep as a hobby but idk. Do you have any tips or advice? It’ll be much appreciated :)
@@alciia8403 i think the book "the artist's way" could help you a lot, when i started reading it and doing the exercises i came back on track as if i was never scared to begin with!!

For me the Loomis method seemed had to do so I used grids but after I watched your videos the way you simplified everything and not entirely relying on the reference rely helped discover my artistic side

Ive always drawn using the grid method instead of the loomis method for ive always drawn realism. After watching your videos, I am now motivated to try drawing in semi-realism with the loomis method in use. Thanks fellow artist

you can start with both .don't pressure yourself , but for me I will start with face then before the body because face are so important but ofcourse that depends on what your focusing for

Hi Josh!! You are such an inspiration for me. My question is How do you keep your pages clean when you finish your draws? Because when I turn back the draws that I’ve done (the page before) are stained. Maybe by the pencil or there are some tips to keep them clean forever?
Use artist gloves or a paper under your hand it will prevent the paper from the strains

Try doing gesture drawing! I did 100 gesture drawings and I improved a lot. Note : if you study bones and structures too early your work may end up looking stiff. So gesture drawing is great as it focuses on the flow, proportions, and movement of a pose.
You can search a pic of what it looks like. It’s only supposed to take about 1-5 mins per drawing :D

Hi, try loomis head drawing method, that's what josh uses in his art. I have been using that method recently and it helped me ALOT.
