I don't really understand the point of these gallery editions when most of the extra space is just a border. There's so much more room for the art that's not being capitalised.
The marvel colors series is one of the best things that Tim Sale & Jeop Loeb ever collaborate on. I dare say better than anything thing else they've made, but then again how could anyone dislike dark victory or long Halloween.
It was an excellent idea to release these stories in the gallery edition format. Part of the legacy of Tim Sale will be well preserved with these beautifull books
Very, verry, very nice!! That Direct Market cover seems like an homage to the splash page of one of my favorite Captain America stories: "The Final Sleep" (Tales of Suspense #74).
At 5:34, did Omar make a reference to the Death Mate crossover from Image/Valiant from 1993? Lol I was fortunate to have picked up the collected "omnibus." Every story is worthy of the Gallery treatment.
There have been a few tweaks to the regular cover from the original solicit, I might nearly have opted for it but the DM cover is still pretty solid. I’ve never read this story so I’m looking forward to its arrival. Thanks Omar!
I'd prefer to see a black and white, artist's edition of this. I don't see much improvement or difference in this edition over the previous one. And those sidebars are annoying and distracting. That's a "Nah" for me.
Fun fact, in Russia, the names of these series were localized as follows:
Spider-Man: Sadness.
Daredevil: Fear.
Hulk: Anger.
Captain America: Grief.
I'm still holding out hope for a reprint of the omnibus with all of these collected in one book.
