It is great to have family to work with as long as all can play together. It is just great to see all are up beat and no dumb drama just fun on to watch.
I will say this every time. Even though I really enjoy Paul's builds, the real content I enjoy is the family atmosphere and the knowledge he's sharing.
That FJ has come a long way, sure am glad you are sharing all the hard work, very inspiring.
The FJ sounds great, nice to have it alive again. Glad you got your brother on board. Sounds like you got a lot of projects coming up which means more videos. Also was nice to have Michelle in the shop again.

It's great to see the channel grow and the family joining in. I think it is what makes your channel and MORR so entertaining and successful. Looking forward to Ben in the videos and maybe special "Stories with Ben" where we learn more about he and Paul as kids. Hopefully the statute of limitations has expired.
In case you need more feedback on the hood latches, I’d put a leather strap across it. All the way from left to right. With buckles. Classy. 😎

I like Paul's idea. Those red latches look like Legos on your hood. Did they come from an FJ Cruiser?
Getting close! Once you get all the fab and mechanicals done are you planning to have Robby work his magic to make it look purdy? Or are you gunny leave it rough?
Would the sand not get under the leather strap and eat into the metal/paint?
Personally, I would use Willys MB type hood latches on the FJ. Land Rover used similar galvanised latches on their "series" trucks. Can't help but think a galvanised latch would look well on the Yota, even if it loses the patinated look!

How about adding a shield with sheet metal around the lower half of the air filter with say a 1" gap around it to help keep some of the heat out of the intake. You're gonna lose a lot of performance with that heat going in and could lead to detonation.
5.3 liters x 800 minimum of air flow thru there. its self cooling.
things are already tight enough that you cant get your hand in there. o lets add one more thing....said no reasonable person ever.

There are already hood vents above the air filter. I'm sure that skies some cool air.
@@safetyfirstintexas 5.3 liters under the hood of an S10 with zero room for cold air intake doesn't "self cool". Florida summers and a/c on all it does is ping if you get in it even a little bit.
Doesn't help that our overpriced fuel is garbage octane.

Hey man, everybody needs help. Glad your getting your brother to come out. Im a single father, my son is 10 and is becoming the best hand I got, and my dad comes down and helps when he can. Family can be the best help a person can get( usually can read your mind, or are the same sort of crazy)

I need to say… I’m a little old man who’s one of those who has been around the world and three county fairs. I mechanized on the farm and later restored a 1948 Willys truck to haul water from a spring to the home place. But, I got stale and grumpy. Watching Fab Rats has given me some ambition. I have a 48 year old Wheel Horse down to nuts and bolts and restoring it to help me get out in the woods. It’s beginning to come together. I think about you guys when I’m working on it. Thank you.

Amazing to see a new windshield in. Bet Michelle will be happy too not to have wind bowing in Her face any more. Those hood latches look so cool & much netter than any snap latches. Now all that's left is a new paint job & that FJ45 will be the talk of the century.
Paint would be nice but for that one I think clear coat would be better

Hey I actually like those latches nice and flush a very neat install great work on the fenders to as soon as you where saying about re joining them I thought yep sleeve and that looked spot on. Great to see the bussiness growing and another family member coming into the shop

For your oil leak…since all the flex plate bolts were soaked in oil, you need to drench the bolt threads in loctite when reinstalled. The bolt holes are probably open to the crankcase as I believe LS cranks are.

The old Yota is coming along great and you have to appreciate someone who is willing to drive 3 1/2 hours to fix your computer issues and your other brother dropping off that transmission and now I can remember where I've seen him before because of his Welderup jacket.

I think that's awesome that your brother is going to work with you. Paul watching you take the windshield off reminded me that. This week I went to change a wheel on my trailer. I have a 600 ftlbs impact wrench and the lug nut would not budge. After many hours of soaking and trying. I gave up and used the fire wrench. So "that was easy".

I am so glad to see that new glass. I know you younger folks don't have the memory that us older folks have, but people used to get catastrophic injuries off that old pre-tempered glass. Often times it was the glass that killed you in a car wreck, not the actual collision. If your head went through the windshield you were toast. It seems like a small thing, but if your lovely wife got cut by that stuff, you would have that to live with. I hope you have a great time on your Jeep Safari, and I hope the FJ does everything you want it to.
