Honestly I fear they are burning valuable time with Ed 84 and still smoking, they don't have years to finish this. Should have put the Jeeps on hold to get this DONE!
I like patina but it depends what car it is and how bad patina is I seen patina so bad it look like it will fall apart driving it down the road. and sometimes I think people like doing patina its cheap way out not painting a car. and you will get way more looks with a nice paint job than a car has rust and rut (patina), and there no reason get a nice paint job to a rock crawler but you need to prime raw steel
Im actually a sponsored driver for a few RC companies. I’d say the best axles to run are stock Axial SCX10II axles, you can also beef up the internals a bit.
If you have plenty of cash it's hard to beat vanquish axles.Paul should check out the Vanquish Phoenix rock crawler rc kit.The Fj body on it looks alot like his full size one.
@@secretsquirrel2112 I believe what he has there is the equivalent of an scx10 (1:10 scale) the scx24 is a lot smaller. 1:10 scale is what most scale trucks are but those 1:24 scale rigs are fun as hell, I have a crazy built scx24 that I built from scratch and it’s a little monster. I prefer 1.9” wheels myself.

Paul, Rather than use WD40 which will wear off fairly quickly. Try a mix of linseed oil and mineral spirits. I use a 50/50mix here in Indiana it lasts about 2 years. I can spray mud and dust off and it preserves the "Natural" look. I spray it on with an old cleaner bottle the wipe it off. Hope that helps. As always love the content and how you share. God Bless!

If you don't have a vacuum filler for filling radiators,, they are MAGIC!!! I recently got one, it makes filing coolant a total no brainer, no bubbles, no worrying about air pockets. I'm 59 and wish I'd a bought or built it in highschool!
THIS is why I dont like air lockers, worse when you have a air related failure on the trail! RC brothers Get you a Traxxas trx4 Sport wont have to repair it every week and they are one of the cheapest and best performing!

BTW, try Penetrol instead of WD to give a sheen that lasts more than 5 minutes. Or, the old school NYPD trick for parade limos: 50:50 mix of kerosene and water. Shake, wipe on wipe off.

A true 4 wheel drive now unlike 99% of the store bought ones that are labeled 4X4 but have open differentials meaning that whichever front and rear tire has the least traction is the one that spins. Night and day difference between them. One way to preserve the patina and add a little shine is to wipe it down with linseed oil and then wipe off the excess a couple times the next day to even it out. You sure have built quite a heavy duty, bulletproof machine which by far surpasses anything new from any manufacturer regardless of how much money a person has. The best part is that you let us watch you fab it. Enjoy your Easter crawling.
dropped a ring gear on my brothers hand changing it in the drive many years ago - they are sharp and after an e-room visit and 40+ stiches got it back together. Those buggers are sharp.

Hey guys. RC axles like Vanquish are good with bigger and stronger internals. Scx10 axles are good too. There’s a fine line between setting the slipper clutch high enough and not binding tires to where they break the shafts.

The natural patina is a great look! It's better than paint and perfectly fits Paul's personality!
Its my understanding boiled linseed oil is the way to seal in the patina and prevent additional rust.

The compressor is used to service tires and other things on the trail.

Night and day difference between them. One way to preserve the patina and add a little shine is to wipe it down with linseed oil and then wipe off the excess a couple times the next day to even it out. You sure have built quite a heavy duty, bulletproof machine which by far surpasses anything new from any manufacturer regardless of how much money a person has. For the RC axle pin, a great old trick is to get some piano wire of the same size and cut it to length. Makes for much stronger axle pins on the RC's

Hey guys. RC axles like Vanquish are good with bigger and stronger internals. Scx10 axles are good too. There’s a fine line between setting the slipper clutch high enough and not binding tires to where they break the shafts.

Litthle tip , if you use pb blaster instead of wd dirt wont stick to it WD is oil based and captures dirt, blaster is silicone based and repels it
