I remember pretty well the amazing performance the winner did that day! Visconti was a very good rider and a most serious professional. He might have had a wider palmares if he just had been properly supported by his team in several occasions, when he was unfortunately left on his own in dealing with decisive situations in races which might have had a different ending if his teammates' wouldn't fail to help. No one, in modern cycling, takes easy winning without your whole teammates' work: they usually pledge themselves to the appointed leader, they do their best to protect him, to shield him from the howling wind, to carry him water, to wait for him for whatever reason...well, G.V. didn't have such an opportunity. But he was, nonetheless, a most respectful athlet, deserving a greater trust.
