      Hi @Spyko. We don’t think you’ve done anything wrong here, in that Attribute Changer only exists as a context menu phenomenon, meaning that there isn’t a Start Menu entry for it, and it doesn’t run from the Taskbar. The only way to invoke it is to right click a file or folder and select “Change Attributes.” From here you can also change global settings by clicking the “Settings” tab at the top of the dialog box.

    Hello, I encountered a problem that within 28files I mass-selected, 14 files were excluded automatically while the other 14 were modified. Why did that happen? How could they automatically be excluded?

    • @TechFixFlix

      Our only thought here is that the 14 files which were automatically excluded somehow met the criteria for exclusion, or conversely failed to meet the criteria for inclusion. Of course, this shouldn’t happen by default because the default position should be “include everything until specific criteria are applied.” We’re assuming that you haven’t personally applied any criteria, so the possibilities which remain are a bug in the app or something unusual about the properties of the specific files selected.

    How to change only "Created" and "Modified" without "Accessed"? I always want to see the exact date and time when I open the video ..

    • @TechFixFlix
      @TechFixFlix  3 года назад

      This should be very straightforward to accomplish. Having ticked “Modify date and time stamps” at the main interface, you should then untick the date and time tickboxes in the “Accessed” field. With these two boxes unticked, they will not be amended once your changes are applied. Now, you simply need to ensure that the boxes in the “Created” and “Modified” fields are ticked, and change the date and time values to whatever you would like them to be. Once you click “OK” or “Apply,” only the “Created” and “Modified” fields will be amended, leaving the “Accessed” data untouched.

    I try to change it but it doesn't work

    • @TechFixFlix

      Is there any possibility that the files you’re trying to change don’t meet the criteria needed to trigger the change, or are possibly protected from being changed by some mechanism? Any further information would be useful here, particularly anything you’re seeing when the attributes don’t change.

      I was having the same problem of the attributes not changing, what fixed it for me was going into "Advanced" and unchecking "use date and time" as it was filtering files based on a date it could not find any to apply changes to, make sure all the options in advanced are unchecked, hope that helps

    can someone discover that you change the date?? Some low lvl TI guy?

    • @TechFixFlix
      @TechFixFlix  3 года назад +2

      Spoken like a true criminal mastermind, determined to cover their tracks…We like it. The answer has to be “Yes,” because, if your low-level tech has access to daily backups or logs, and those show clear differences from the timestamps on your files, then clearly you’re going to have some explaining to do. The average supervisor isn’t going to be that diligent, or have access to the necessary resources, or have the inclination to check beyond what they can immediately see in front of them. So, whilst this may not help you commit the perfect crime, it will pass some degree of scrutiny.

      @@TechFixFlix what if you change the date on a different device and gave the files via USB?

    • @TechFixFlix
      @TechFixFlix  3 года назад +2

      That’s even more cunning @Nicolas M, and that would certainly make it much more difficult to detect. If the copies of files you’re working with have no parallels on a corporate network, there are no master files or backups by which to draw a comparison, making it much harder to disprove timestamps on the files.

      @@TechFixFlix I have made the modifications using my PC as other PC doesn't allow me to download AC. It works well on my pc but as soon as I send the altered file back to the original PC everything switches to the date and time I transferred it across. Can you offer any advice?

    • @TechFixFlix
      @TechFixFlix  2 года назад

      That’s an interesting query @Janine Elliott. The act of transferring files is being logged as a date of last access (or date of creation) as far as the receiving system is concerned, but, as you’ve mentioned, the restrictions in place on that machine prevent Attribute Changer from being installed. Our first thought - and we’re just thinking aloud here and haven’t particularly thought this through - what happens if you enclose the amended files inside a .zip or .rar or any other container file which can be read on the receiving machine? Presumably the container will be datestamped by the receiving system, but it shouldn’t be able to “see” inside the container to modify the files within. Might this work?
