Testing compaction in the yard

I have access to a soil compaction testing tool, known as a Penetrometer. Last year, I had a hard time getting the probe to go further than 10" into most of my front yard, due to heavy compaction. I've been using Green County Fertilizer products for the past 2 season, and had some really surprising results. See more at www.thelawnforum.com.
