- This is a video about what it's like to really live in Hawaii in 2019. It's a great place to live, but it's not always rainbows and beaches. If you want to live here, these are some good things to know before moving to Hawaii.
Living in Hawaii is Adventurous, Beautiful, Crowded, Delicious, Expensive, Family-Oriented, Green, Homely, Isolated, Jovial, Known, Limited, Modern, Nautical, Outgoing, Precious, Quaint, Repetitive, Sociable, Tight, Unequal, Vivacious, Warm, Xenolithic, Yearlong, and Zestful.

I moved to mainland over fifty years ago from Kapahulu. I still consider Hawaii home and I'm fortunate I get back 2=4 times a year. Going to start watching your videos, not necessarily in chronological order.
So informative!! I never realized that I love the seasons, wide open spaces , small crowd sizes or none at all. Thank you for showing us the hidden side not in hawaii that should be considered : ).
Thanks for watching!
@@HelloFromHawaii I also realized I can give it all up hahahaha
Great video and loved your ABC words.
I am an Alaskan and I can tell you that Alaska and Hawaii, besides the weather, are similar in many ways to each other. They are both expensive, beautiful, for the adventurous, tons of tourists (alaskan summers), friendly, xenolitic, zestful, high gas prices, long shipment times, not the highest quality of food is not the best (except for the fish, moose, reindeer, bear that you hunt), and incredible sunset and sunrises. Lastly, once you visit Alaska, you may leave but your heart will always want to come back.
That's amazing, what part should a 1st timer visit? And what time of year?
I am Japanese Canadian with family in HIlo HI (my son was born there and still living there) but I live in little Nelson, BC (pop 10K) and the cost of living after dollar conversion, its actually MORE expensive to live in this shitty little alcoholic town that has a homeless and drug problem than it is to live in most of Hawaii islands. I havent been back home in 16 years and was thinking of moving back in a few years so I thought before I go home, I would compare what the cost of day to day living would be (gas, utilities, jobs, minimum wage, etc) and was blown away that I was living in a more expensive area.. LOL I cant wait to go home now~
Very helpful, thank you for doing what you do!
You're welcome 🤙
Sweet editing. Sounds like a fun place to call home!
My opinion….
If you don’t mind muggy, humid weather
I believe September/october/sometimes November are really crappy humid months
Thanks so much for sharing!! I’m moving soon to Oahu!
Good luck. :) Hope you enjoy it.
Me too... in 5 months
Aw, Yu luckee Gurl, Yu!
☺️
Bring lots of swimsuits.
I left Hawaii permanently in 1953, so living in Hawaii would be a little different for me. There will be no more long trips to see the country side, for example.
HE>I please explain! I see this all the time. When I lived here almost 20 years ago AI don’t remember ever seeing that.
It's a Christian clothing company based out of North Shore.
HE>i = God (HE) is greater than(>) I (i) Took me months to figure out :-/
Hello, I have a question about Hawaiian culture that I think you’ll find it funny. I recently learned that surprise nurple twists are also part of its sociable culture between bro friends. Lol, I’m just wondering whether is it true or not? 🤔😄
Yup! Thank you! Very helpful. How's the healthcare down there?
You're welcome. Health care is pretty good, although the State has a physician shortage. Certain specialties may be hard to find.
Do Yu guys shake furikake on riceball & put pink ginger or Hilo koko in da middle. 😁
Im soon to be moving to Hawaii..I want to point out a little trick I learned when I first moved to SWFlorida and there are no seasons..You remember things usually by season. Like a new car you get in November cause it was fall and leaves where changing. When you live somewhere with only hot or hotter I learned to remember the date something happened...that way I didn't forget a certain "special" occasion.😉
That's an interesting idea. We have local events that help to remind us of time passing throughout the year. It's just that the weather is not a good indication.
@@HelloFromHawaii Like time for Punahou Carnival
Have you tried paddleboards yet?
Hey! Yes, I tried it. Pretty easy to do.
Tony from New York city. Thankfully you guys are sociable and friendly and touching, I am the same way friendly and sociable and always hugging, can't wait to move there and enjoy the rich culture 🤙🙋♂️👍

Are there still Japanese dentists being true love like there are in Arizona?
Not sure.
