I am a UK registered nurse working in the NHS. I am a surgical nurse by background and was redeployed to Intensive Care Unit following the Covid-19 outbreak. At present, I work as a Junior Sister in Acute and Chronic pain services.

hi are nurses allowed to have naps im a first year nursing student i havent been on any placements yet
Hmm, double check with your placement area because some places are very strict on nurses napping on their break. However, there is nothing wrong in closing your eyes/ getting a quick rest when you are on your break. Just be respectful of where you are and how you do it. For example, if you are in the communal staff room and you start setting up a blanket when others are trying to have their break then thats not appropriate. I hope that makes sense.
