This has to be one of the most emotional pieces of music ever written, just by association. Think how many newly married couples have heard this music on their wedding day.
This was our weddings when we come inside to church. I lil bit crying when i saw my bride. I was over the happyest man in the world ever. And when we leave the church we choice "sleeping beauty" and againg i almost crying but i was ale to keep it inside. Next week saturday we are going to honeymoon to turkey. To all who going to married we wish good luck and do not take a panic, all will go good if you have even lil bit hope with it. Bestregards: Mr and Mrs Savolainen from Finland 16.06.2012
This is the song my husband and I exited the church to on our wedding day, also played on organ. I was so excited and happy to be married. Such a special memory for me.
I played this in the organ for my sister in law wedding and I always prefer this march to exit the church and the Wagner's march to enter. Many people do it the other way, this one to enter but I think Wagner more quiet and solemn march is better to get in and this one to exit, so I applaud your decision 🤣
I agree. I've always associated this piece with not the leaving, but the kissing. I just subconsciously imagine in my head the bride and groom getting ready to kiss on the first notes, and kissing when it becomes big.
@@professorgrimm4602 For me: • Wagner's Bridal Chorus ("Here comes the Bride" song) plays when the Bride walks in, and the Groom is at the alter. • Mendelssohn's Wedding March when the Groom and Bride get ready for the kiss, and the actual kiss itself. • I know some people associate Canon in D with Weddings... that's not me, and I personally didn't know such people exist until recently.
I just read some past comments about the tempo. I am an organist and this is the perfect tempo. It is great as a recessional and the couple can easily walk with it. It is not necessarily for marching. It is more of a grand recessional walk! Absolutely impressive.
I actually prefer the organ to the piano when I walk down the aisle. Even if we did have to use a recording since we're having our wedding in the park at a gazebo.
I'd prefer a full orchestra myself, but beggars can't be choosers. Besides, it would take a lot of hamsters in treadmills to generate enough power for an organ like that!
How could they conceive this kind of instrument with infinite of combinations 5 centuries ago just with air pumps?! Korg and Yamaha didn't invent nothing!! :-D
They're basically just giant recorders tuned to a single note. Kind of an obvious thing to do if the recorder and an instrument with a keyboard already exist.
When the old pipe organs ran without electricity, the big organs required men at the back to pump the air through the system so that the organ would sound when the organist hit a key.
@@CaptainSuzySparrow Hi, Suzy. I'm a church organist, (pipe organ and pump-reed organ) and yes, accordions are certainly a directly related instrument. I play both. The accordion is actually more emotionally musically expressive, and ever so much more portable. Happy New Year! - Matt
Pretty good arrangement for solo organ of a piece originally meant for a full philharmonic orchestra. This movement of "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdys Sämmliche Werke: Ein Sommernachtstraum, Op.61" was written as an interlude for a live performance of the William Shakespeare stage comedy and has also been used for ballets based thereon. This Allen® four-manual has the resources for any combination of the individual parts - maybe I should suggest a performance of Op. 61 to the Philadelphia Organ Quartet, who have enough personnel to pull off the entire orchestration....
damn,. how he play that amazing tempo its so almost perfect and majestic ... i wish i will become an organist soon ,. for now im a trainee of how to play organ..
Awesome as ever and i'm sure all couples who get married enjoy hearing you play the wedding march on the pipe organ would agree with it is beautifully played.
Which is interresting in organ playing is that we can enhance/customise any classical tune to our feeling. This is the case here. One can agree or not with the registration choices, the point is that it sounds good! Bravo!
Mermaid Man: “Listen up, you villains, I wanna eat my meatloaf! If you don't get out of here, then by the power invested in me, I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU MAN AND WIFE!!! Nurse (bursting in the door): What is going ON in here!? Mermaid Man (points at Spongebob): YOU MAY KISS THE BRIDE!!!!
why would anyone give this a thumbs down? If you didn't want to hear the song, why did you even come here? I swear there are people who just go around down voting everything they come across
My imaginary wedding, with the presence of my violin that has too much rosin, my piano that has been through a lot of intense work, and my imaginary followers on Instagram watching the imaginary livestream:
I got my music teacher to play this today in music class and after class was done my friend ruby went to our friend ciara and said "i bet you were thinking of you and tom holland walking down the isle together" AND CIARA SAID "I was" and then i join in and i said "i was thinking of Helene Joy and I walking down the isle" and ruby was so many emotions mixed together but mostly his "all you guys are simps" emotion. 😂😂😂
I use this arrangement of it I believe: I will check which edition I have on Wednesday next time I'm at the church where I store my music. Please reply and remind me if I forget to come back!
some of an organ's stops are voiced to mimic real instruments - brass and woodwind (such as the trumpet, oboe, & clarinet) are the most common but you will find other musical families such as string instruments as well
I don’t think the organ registration is as full as it could be... I was hoping for some more 32’ ones in the pedal and some more low things in the hands for a more solid sound

this organ is like my ex gf. blowing alot of hot air.
If you think about it, accordions work with air and keys in a similar manner and they existed back then too.
When the old pipe organs ran without electricity, the big organs required men at the back to pump the air through the system so that the organ would sound when the organist hit a key.

darwin mercader. Classical organ? For how long?
darwin mercader. I played electronic organ with 13 pedals and i know that playing a pipe organ with 30 pedals is far from easy.
