Same here. The beast went on long patrols all by himself. When Rasta went missing it literally broke his heart. He was always loyal to Machulu regardless of what was going on with T and the other Mapogos.

@@ewoutstorm4626 Murder the largest Mapogo and also the dominant one at the time, Dreadlocks.
Down to 3 while being very old, the Mapogos couldn't defeat the 4 Selatis 1 year and 4 months later.
There's also the possibility humans killed Rasta, but it's more likely he was killed by the Majingilane coalition.
Had Dreadlocks not been killed by locals, the Selatis wouldn't have had been able to take over their territory in 2012 and a Mapogo clash with the Majingilane in 2011 would have been likely.
If the Majingilane ( with their big brains ) failed at isolating one Mapogo and killing him, but rather if we had a fair fight, 4v4, 3v3, something like that, even as old lions the Mapogos would have destroyed the Majingilane, reconquering their east territory.

Check out the Majigilanes. They were responsible for decrease in hyena population
@@lynnwairimu8066 Majingilane are great in their own right, and actually more succesful, having a gazillion cubs ( a shame all their adult sons died tragic deaths, incluiding the Mapogo grandsons ), but they were a different type of coalition than the Mapogos.
They had nowhere near the same aggressiveness nor had the countless fights the Mapogo had. All the Majingilane wins were they 4v1 other lions to death. There's one 1v1 between an old Dark Mane and a Matshipiri Male where DM apparently was getting whooped until his brother joined him and chased the rival male. And the other apparent 1v1 was between DM and Hairy Belly where again DM was getting the beating of his life until his brothers chased the Matimba.
Of course no demerit to the Majingilane leader, Matshipiri was at his prime and he was old, and in the other fight he was up against the largest lion in the SS, the titan HB.
But that's the different between them, many people find the Mapogo cooler because they can read about stuff like Mr.T and KT fighting beating other coalitions 2v2, or even their legendary fight against the 3 Toulon males where they won despite being outnumbered. Or stuff like Prime Makhulu following Prime Nhlanguleni alone and wrecking him in a 1v1 battle.
@@reinsaxony4623 I don't think makhulu wrecked nhalanguleni. It was a pretty close fight but makhulu won at the end. Just a question how many 1v1 fights did Mr t and kinky tail have?
@@HuzaifaKhan-lf7ug Unless there's an insane size difference any fight between two prime males will be "pretty close", but Makhulu left with "only" scratches and a mouth bleeding, not life-threatening wounds, meanwhile Nhlanguleni was on death's doors from his face wound and limp:
"The large male from the coalition was found heading east to rejoin the others, bleeding heavily from the mouth and showing many scratches from the fight, on closer inspection it was seen that his lower right canine had been snapped in half. Later on Nhlanguleni was found, limping badly and with a terrible wound on the right side of his face, the wound was deep and it seemed he had lost an eye, inside the wound was what suspiciously like a broken canine tooth lodged in the cheekbon."
Not counting brothers fights, KT has no 1v1 fight, and Mr.T has 2, first a brief fight against Dark Mane in june 2010 when he tried to rescue KT, he attacked the Majingilane and was defeating him according to Ranger Peter Rundle, but soon Scarnose joined the fray and Mr.T was beaten 2v1 and had to flee.
His other fight was exactly 1 year later in june 2011, a week after the Mapogos fought Matimbas or their sons, Mr.T went to have a fight alone and returned with many scars on his face. We don't know against whom he fought, but the lions available were be Matimbas or Majingilanes.
1v1 aside, Mr.T and KT fought and won other fair fights or while outnumbered like 2v2 against Manyeleti males and 2v3 against Toulon males.

Where can I purchase the DVD Brothers In Blood The Lions of Sabi Sands? Amazon can't find it. Please help.
As far as I know you can’t. Also RUclips doesn’t have it either. The only place that seems to have it is Facebook. Assuming you’re on Facebook, just search for “Brothers in Blood” and it’ll come up. It’s about 90 minutes long. I’m just going to come right out and tell you though that, while it is an entertaining documentary that does give broad overview of the timeline of the Mapogo era, there are probably about a dozen errors in it. I’ve been studying the Mapogos on my own for a few years now and have learned much more honestly here on RUclips from other more informed posters. Rob the Ranger actually still is active every now and then and is probably the most knowledgeable of anybody. He lived with them. He has his own channel. There are guides too that post as well I believe. Another really good source of TRUE information is this message board. Again, Rob the Ranger posted a lot here as well. Unfortunately many people took “Brothers in Blood” as Gospel and the “facts” stated in that documentary simply weren’t true.
