Touhou 16 isn't the easiest for a beginner because you have to use not only the normal bomb but also the secondary bomb, although the game is definitely easier once you get the hang of it. Nothing really beats TH8 to learn Touhou for beginners, not only because the mechanics aren't hard to understand but also because you have tons of spellpractice and it's one of the most complete Touhou still to this day. There are other Touhous that are easy and where you don't have to worry about additional mechanics, but not as good as TH8 for beginners (TH4, TH10 mostly, after that you have TH13/14/16 but they require a little understanding of additional, unique mechanics to them). A beginner should download and try them all in easy honestly, i remember trying TH10 as my first touhou game, and i couldn't appreciate the game when i began, but when i tried TH11 in easy mode and later TH4 and then TH8 it went a lot smoother.
Still dreaming dreams of the rest of the games being added, so far we only got 15, 16, and 17 coming up. I'd give Zun plenty beer money to be able to play the older games without having to struggle with the games crashing if I try to fullscreen mode and being able to use steam UI and such.

New story just purely focus on their Religious War and Japanese Old story Zun is no longer interest about Westen Magic after 東方文花帖 He just add more and more character in Touhau and forget the existing charactors Just like Remilia, Sakuya, Flandre and many charactor.
