I was a singer in a band for a few years, and then transferred to drums for a couple years. I can honestly say that trying to keep a beat and singing at the same time is very hard. But, just like any other instrument, with enough practice you get into the groove and don't even realize what you're doing.
Although it's the second time I bought tickets, I finally just saw them for the first time in Baton Rouge on Friday night. Literally THE most entertaining evening I've had in five years since a head-on car accident. It was actually the 5-year anniversary. What a fine way to forget about it. So cool to see Skillet getting some MSM attention.
She hits the drums how they were made to be played god bless ya jen the whole band is on point. And the message is amazing don't give into the devil keep the almighty in your heart and soul dont sell your soul for anything stay awake stay alive...
Been listening to these guys for the majority of their existence as a band (mid-90s!!!) and its great to see them get more mainstream attention. Also been able to see them live several times and this taping doesnt do them justice, they are impressive and tight live. Also awesome people to talk to in person. Very down to earth and passionate about their faith

She was a finalist for UKs drummer of the year in 2006 and has been on the cover of Drummer magazine several times so I dont think you can say she sucks. She plays what fits the music best but that doesnt say everything about her talent

Um lol just because something is "hard and intense" doesnt make them metal. The chorus is very basic bar chord strumming. Typical attribute of a rock balad. The guitar, while on the overdrive channel, has a low gain threshold. Typical Rock attribute. Melody is very basic by the numbers palm muting, to open strummed chorus with clean singing throughout. Rock Attribute. There i named the things that in my mind classify it as rock. Now please tell me what makes you consider it metal. Now keep in mind when i say its not metal thats not me insulting this band. I never said their music was bad. Just that it is certainly not in the metal genre

They always sound weird live because she says the actually lyrics. The words are stand my ground and never back down, but in the recording it sounds like stand my gahhhh and never back down

But if you couldn't tell, this song is played in a different key than the original. You can also tell the music is real because Seth(the guy on guitar) during the solo hit a weird note and I could tell
