Very nice to look at you guys.Even you have lot of gear with you ,a Pulka used right makes everything easier and you keep it simple as i like it. No axes needed when you have good knives and saws with you that dont weight much and you know what to do building up great fires. No chairs as all the Yanks always need and even build . You are like us in Finland and Scandinavia keeping it simple and you have the best views in the World up there too. Tsuch !.
This adventure shows that anyone can bushcraft in fair weather, the real test is to do it in inclement conditions. My hat is off to you for your determination to have a go at it, and succeeding.

In addition to enjoying watching you thoroughly enjoying yourself getting up to mischief 😁 in that sort of weather (some of the worse and most dangerous in my opinion .. wet cold just above / below freezing), you have included very important 'learning points' in this video. If I may please? Some I picked up on .. 1. Pulling something (cart / sled) as against carrying it, under some conditions, is more energy-efficient. 2. Wet cold .. stay active to keep generating internal heat. When stopped, change into dry clothing .. especially the upper body core. 3. Shelter .. from wind. 'Wind chill' can be a killer. 4. Fire .. Prometheus the Greek Titan, kindly bequeathed this blessing upon Mankind and for which we are eternally grateful. 5. Fat .. a high fat meal before bedtime gets that internal body furnace going and by doing so, makes for a warmer, more comfortable night. Dear Thomas, absolutely agree with you, to handle such circumstances you got to know what you doing. I know it looks a kind of easy but only a little mistake and all gets worst. I’ve the core temperature drops and you hav no protection, some spare clothes or a fire…the trouble starts. Even if you have spare clothes but no space to stay dry you’re in trouble. Another video I missed! Anyway, if it's not too late. I hated wet snow/rain camping when I was young living in the northern US. I tended to bring a lot of woolen clothing as it seemed to work better. What do you prefer in this condition for sleeping bags and clothing? Wool, synthetics or down?
Yes, never too late :-) Thank you for your support over such a long period of time. I also prefer clothes made of wool, they don't dry as quickly and are a bit heavier, but they keep you warm even when wet and are of course very breathable. In such conditions, a rainproof outer shel makes sense. Generally I recommend a synthetic sleeping bag for such wet conditions, it dries quicker and retains some loft even when wet, on the other hand, as in this video, I use a down sleeping bag which packs smaller and has less weight and much better thermal performance but with a water repellent outer layer and in combination with a waterproof bivy. Would you say the winters are warmer over there too? Sweden should have really cold days now but we are enjoying temperature more like the beginning of spring. It was a long time ago we had a real winter here.

This time the Lowa Trident III GTX, ist very warm, light weight, very breathable, comfortable, Goretex, good for long walks in the cold, not recommend for steep areas and snowshoes, I choose it this time because I know we have long way to walk an need snowshoe only for a short time
Yes. Not that effective during extended periods of rain. Dry cold, a different story. Waterproof clothing. When used to protect against rain during strenuous activities, you're going to get wet from within. I Nordic Walk regularly and have experimented with various types of clothing .. especially during the Winter Months .. wet and dry cold. Summer, not a problem. "Whilst the clothing may get soaked, skin is waterproof'." My Swiss walking colleagues find my take on that quite amusing 😁. The best solution, in my opinion, as Taro said, is to stay active and keep generating heat. Having a change of dry clothing for afterwards, if necessary to do so, is essential.
@@auroraborealisknives4019 Goretex works great under low activity / heat generation conditions. Up the pace and you'll get wet anyway from perspiration .. more so if it's raining.
Everyone has there own opinion on clothing what work for one in a area may not for others I believe in wool I n new England I personally don't like goretex I am very warm naturally sweat profusely when even just moving

This time the Lowa Trident III GTX, ist very warm, light weight, very breathable, comfortable, Goretex, good for long walks in the cold, not recommend for steep areas and snowshoes, I choose it this time because I know we have long way to walk an need snowshoe only for a short time

Yes. Not that effective during extended periods of rain. Dry cold, a different story.
Waterproof clothing. When used to protect against rain during strenuous activities, you're going to get wet from within.
I Nordic Walk regularly and have experimented with various types of clothing .. especially during the Winter Months .. wet and dry cold. Summer, not a problem. "Whilst the clothing may get soaked, skin is waterproof'." My Swiss walking colleagues find my take on that quite amusing 😁.
The best solution, in my opinion, as Taro said, is to stay active and keep generating heat. Having a change of dry clothing for afterwards, if necessary to do so, is essential.

Up the pace and you'll get wet anyway from perspiration .. more so if it's raining.

Everyone has there own opinion on clothing what work for one in a area may not for others I believe in wool I n new England I personally don't like goretex I am very warm naturally sweat profusely when even just moving
