I always cringe when I hear someone say it's a "good beginners guitar". It's certainly more than that. Just the body cut outs alone, and a good playing neck can make an intermediate player happy!

@@landonbailey I don't know where you got your information from, but you have things turned around. The bullet strat is in fact the cheapest licensed by Fender product you can get, while the Affinity line on the other hand is actually the next model up from the bullet. Then the next one up from the Affinity is the Squier Standard Stratocaster and so on and so forth.
@@landonbailey Oh yeah and another thing there's the old adage " You Get What You Pay For" I mean come on dude, a little common sense says that obviously guitars such as the Bullet series or the Epiphone Les Paul Special 2 model are geared towards the " Beginning Guitarist" and finally there's a little thing called " The budget" in mind.
I've gigged with my squier for years. As long as the guitar is well maintained it will do what it's designed to do. It's comfortable to play no matter how low-end others see it.
I got mine 5 years ago at GC for $90 bucks. Bought it to play Rocksmith and practice on, I still have it and play it daily. I must have gotten lucky because I only really have to tune mine every so often. For the price I paid highly recommend it for a beginner or mod.
I have this guitar. It has a hard time staying in tune, but I love how bright it sounds. I think the cleans are gorgeous, and it gives a brightness to distorted guitars that helps them cut through a mix. Can’t recommend this more in the price range.
I'm late to the show. I was given this guitar. I adjusted the truss rod, intonation, string height. It plays like an American Standard Strat and sounds like one. I could play it anywhere. It stays in tune. Stretch new strings a lot and you will be fine
Was my first guitar too. Squier Bullet Strat - fiesta red. Love it 11 years on too...one of the guitars I keep gravitating towards apart from my other guitars !
It’s a guitar that definitely needs some work. Nothing crazy. I polished the frets, fine sanded the neck to get that chalky feel off of it and did your standard set up. This thing totally gives me cognitive dissonance. I consider myself an advanced guitarist. Been playing and gigging for a few decades. But son of a gun this is my favorite Strat. I returned a Classic Vibe Strat because I couldn’t get past all the lacquer on the neck and fretboard. You can fly on the Bullet neck. I use Big Bends nut sauce on the nut and it stays in tune well. I have the hard tail version which I think is a way better idea than the bullet with a trem on it. Even higher end Strat trems go out of tune quite easily. I’m going to put a rails humbucker in the one I have. Just because I’m a hard rocker. But the stock pickups sound just like a Strat should. And the 2021 models have the tone pot wired to the bridge pickup as well which makes it so much better.
I love my Bullet HSS Squier...it sounds great and I've played Les Paul and ESP and love my Strat HSS way more. I can afford 5,000$ guitars but glad I bought my squire. Wouldn't trade it for the world. I have a soft tail and it's stays in tune.
That's good to hear, I'm a kid and I'm looking for my first electric, I have 2 acoustics but I wanna get into playing the electric guitar. But of course I'm on a budget so I'm kinda stuck
@@wesleyhubbard8944 cool check out the HH Squire also. I'm about to buy one! HH are used for metal. The HSS is a dual guitar. For rock and metal and blues. I got the HSS sunburst bullet with the whammy. It has black hardware and a black pick guard. Best to you! You can play rock and thr blues on the HH but I am in a 3 piece metal and folk band.
Thanks for your demo. I bought a white one in 2019 (HSS, hard tail version) and I love it - couldn't be happier! The frets on mine do NOT catch my fingers; they seem fine. The (satin finish) neck must be one of the slimmest necks among the Squier Strat models. I like the higher output hum-bucker bridge pickup as it helps to stand out in the band for solos and lead parts. I also like that the Squier Bullet is light weight! The hard tail (no whammy bar) means that it's less likely to go out of tune. :-)
I bought a new Squier Bullet Strat HT w/singles in 2022. Nice for the price. The intonation is very close and stays in tune. I got it to get a boy start playing. I've owned a lot of gear over 50 years, and new starter guitars are getting better all the time.
Cort is a guitar brand that has been around for a long time now and they make really decent guitars. Made in Indonesia. My 2015 Squier Standard Strat was made in Indonesia at a Cort factory and the fit and finish is excellent. Often you will need to dress the frets a bit and of course do a regular setup (action, neck, etc.) but the parts are very good. About equal to a Mexican Strat but a whole lot less expensive.
A solid review. 👍 @3:51 We can see the serial number. The first few characters *(ICS14)* reveal that it was made in Indonesia at the *Cor-tek* factory. The S is for Squier. and it's a *2014* The rest of it is the guitar's specific serial identity, possibly the actual number produced that year. Cor-Tek manufactures Cort Guitars, plus all their contract stuff for manufacturers like Ibanez, Fender, and now PRS. Cor-Tek is the well established guitar maker (they, along with Samick, are the largest guitar manufacturers in the world and produce far more than the biggest US companies do in-house), Cort is their house brand that is part of Cor-Tek. I have the Sea Foam Green, frets are surprisingly smooth to the touch and it stays in tune, plays well too. They must have been having a good day when mine was made. Not at all sorry i bought it and the funny thing is i bought it to practice setup and fret filing on and it didn't really need it, played well right out of the box go figure, i was expecting a nightmare at that price point. Amazing for $149.99 from Musicians Friend, with some mods it could be really decent of course it did need better strings.
I think if the frets are a little “sharp” you can just use a file or some sand paper to make it so it doesnt hurt your fingers Edit: Also if it goes out if tune you can just buy some locking tuners and change them with the ones on the guitar and it will help a lot, and it doesnt cost too much and either way its a great upgrade to any guitar really
affinity is better than bullet.bullet is entry level . after affinity is deluxe then classic vibe. Just saying. bullet is at the bottom of the squier totem pole lol
I think biggest difference would be price and components. Bullet very low end and lowest price. Affinity would be a level up, but I don't think anything drastic
ya there's quite a few models, so it's probably case by case. Just guessing, I would assume the Bullet bodies might be thinner, using less materials. if you can, the best bet would be to hold one of each in your hands at a store.

I think it sounds good. I mean I have no experience, but I am going to go for this one to learn.
awesome, should be a great first guitar. good luck and have fun, and be patient. learning takes a while. :)
What do you say about this guitar because lot of comments says you are bored of it.
lol ya thats an old video I did early on in making RUclips videos. the guitar is pretty good as a beginner guitar. watch my more recent videos. ive used that guitar in a another comparison against a standard strat ruclips.net/video/R68s17Uwhvo/видео.html
Can you compare guitar like Yamaha pasfica 012,fender squire strat fat HSS. And give musical demos too.
hopefully one day. Haven't come across any Yamaha guitars except the acoustic guitar I own
Had one, have fun with it in drop b
Feels like my bullet strat is the only one without the tremolo.
I got the same gutair for 75 bucks at GC
I have the Sea Foam Green, frets are surprisingly smooth to the touch and it stays in tune, plays well too. They must have been having a good day when mine was made. Not at all sorry i bought it and the funny thing is i bought it to practice setup and fret filing on and it didn't really need it, played well right out of the box go figure, i was expecting a nightmare at that price point. Amazing for $149.99 from Musicians Friend, with some mods it could be really decent of course it did need better strings.
+ruby kaufman great deal, I like sea foam green. Nice!
Dude it actually sounds pretty good!☮️🎸♍️
wish he got the new Hard Tail ones and did his Full specs review
I think if the frets are a little “sharp” you can just use a file or some sand paper to make it so it doesnt hurt your fingers
Edit: Also if it goes out if tune you can just buy some locking tuners and change them with the ones on the guitar and it will help a lot, and it doesnt cost too much and either way its a great upgrade to any guitar really
Is it neck-dived sir? I hate neck dive guitars
no neck dive
how will someone know that its a Bullet Strat or a Normal strat ?
I got mine for 200usd
Edit: so you are telling me I don't need a distortion pedal because of the humbucker?
I have the same one but i got marshell ane fender champ 20
affinity is better than bullet.bullet is entry level . after affinity is deluxe then classic vibe. Just saying. bullet is at the bottom of the squier totem pole lol
all excellent instruments however.
Chris Pielacha hey cool thanks! ya a couple other mentioned I had them swapped. and you're right still decent instruments
After Affinity is the Standard. I have 2, an old one and a new one. Both are very good 👍
bullet , affinity, standard , classic vibe , deluxe
whats the difference between them in your opinion?
stepvan Joe hey Joe, do you mean the difference between affinity and bullet series?
Yes i do, i could not find a good description on line either.
I think biggest difference would be price and components. Bullet very low end and lowest price. Affinity would be a level up, but I don't think anything drastic
That wa kinda what I wondered. So not much more than maybe hardware improvements!?
ya there's quite a few models, so it's probably case by case. Just guessing, I would assume the Bullet bodies might be thinner, using less materials. if you can, the best bet would be to hold one of each in your hands at a store.
Squire's typically had sharp frets, if memory serves.
+Ken Hinzman ok thanks. I don't think it's a big deal considering most first time guitarists won't be sliding up and down the neck at first.
My first electric guitar was a squier and the high e string would always catch on the 22nd fret lol, I'm so glad i don't have to deal with that anymore
+lando27music I'm like a really advanced begginer
is it good for playing metal?
Yah I don't think there would be any reason you couldn't. ☺
+ุ music is in the fingers! 😆
i personally like to think that it is good for almost any type of music.
Sorry, but the affinities are a higher level than the bullet strats.
Is it a short scale or a large?
it's regular scale, definitely not short
@@landonbailey thanks :)
great review! I play drums but I always wanted to learn guitar so I bought this guitar a year ago and I really like it! I think I'm learning fast and I really want to upgrade to something more expensive next summer, for example I'm thinking about the Fender Jazzmaster Classic Player which is like 900 Euros here in Europe. So what is your advice? I really can't decide if it's worth to spend sooo much money for a second electric guitar.
rose in the vase hey thanks! Jazzmasters are pretty cool. I don't know if you need to spend that much on a second guitar. but try one out and if it feels great go for it! 🎸🎸🎸🎵🎵
My HSS has no fret sprout nothing stays in tune but I don't think there is no beginners guitars just play what you like
Both ok, but affinity is actually little bit nicer, littls more expensive
thanks for sharing
At least it sounds like a guitar
Not bad for a beginner..... I use a fender American series
The bolit is the lost in the Chain squirt not infinitely
no offense, is your keyboard broken? :)
@@landonbailey yes 👍 cracked screen. 💀
@@johnburris7321 it all makes sense now! sorry to hear that
@@landonbailey u should do a review on Mitchell T D 400 guitars there 300 bucks that come with locking tuners Wilkinson trem. Crazy amount of feachers. Grate not vary well none brand. Grate low budget guitars. I love mine .
I have this home good for beginers..but I want now new I go buy ibanez
Nice background.
Bullet is the lowest end. Affinity is actually a step above Bullet. Or two steps. lol Thanks for the vid anyway.
cool ya realized after! thanks 👍🤣
Way back when I was younger those rocked.
New subscriber here. Great review. ❤️
Welcome!!
You are wrong. The lowest level is the Squier Bullet and then the Squier Affinity and then Squier Contemporary. You should consider remove this video and make a new one with the correct information.
thanks! it's been corrected many times in the comments.
Do you only know only some simple chords try and play some songs on it
I don't recall. what's songs are you looking for?
Just some kind of ...ac:dc or guns and roses
I was just asking man ..in any case if you are hurt by my words i m truely sorry for that but actually i tried to do you a favour
@@dmohit4243 oh no actually I dont care :) I just don't know what you would expect someone to say with a static video file from years ago. lol watch my newer stuff.
Thank you sir
lolll helpp im stuck between squier or pacifica
40$ any pawn shop. Great mod platform. $200 Canada? Rip. Surprisingly well built
I got that one on clearance for $69 Canadian. It was demo stock
do you recommend a squier bullet strat ht for a beginner?
yes
Can I play metal on it?
+Xlider I would say yes. Check out Agufish ruclips.net/video/VOsghBfB_Ys/видео.html
No. You can only play polkas on it
@@jcripp7974 Ha Ha Ha. Very funny reply. I am LOFL. 👍😆
Should I go for this or Yamaha Pacifica ?
hey there! I would try both and see how they feel to you in your hands
Hm
Tanks
if thats they best way you play guitar, you schouldnt be doing reviews buddy. this i learned in my first 2 weeks
what year is it?
My bullet tele plays better than any other squier I have ever owned. Neck and frets are great and has string through body. Needed new strings a little lowering of the action and put some ducks axe wax on the fretboard and it sounds killer. The affinitys look better but play worse for costing more.
Bullet one level up from Affinity! Hmmm....
What a guitar snob!
you forgot handsome!
Why all of you keep saying this is for beginner guitar? Damn! Stel andre used bullet squier and his not a beginner ! Check stel andre youtube. For me there's no begginers or pro guitar. It's only cheap that poor people can afford and expensive guitar!
Julius Mapa it’s a really good guitar if you ask me
@@damoxiofficial866 yes indeed! and it is not for beginner guitar . Duh? It's just cheap materials but not for beginners guitar! Haha
