The brown definitely gave it an even more rustic feel, but right after you finished adding the gray, it totally looked like a galvanized metal bucket! I love it both ways!

I really love the way the basket turned out. I’m a retired teacher and was always teaching kids to be careful with books which is a little funny now that I cut them up and paint them myself. I also love how you give so much attention to the small details in your crafting. Thanks for sharing.

As I am a total hater of people destroying books I have a hard time with some of these crafts, but I fell completely in love with these eggs and I am going to have to make them and the basket. So cute!!!

I did a bunch of these, big and small. I did them a couple of different ways. I did the paper strips and then also tearing book pages into very small pieces. I also wrapped them with jute. I also made eggs wrapped in only twine and nautical rope. Having them all displayed together looks so nice.

I love the eggs, they are really cute.
With the hot glue showing if you take a lighter to it slightly melted you can rub it off and the glue isn't too sometimes I get a little hot glue happy and that trick works for me

I covered some and then added a couple of twine covered eggs. I'm going to put them on the little kitchen scale I made from dollar tree and goodwill items.

I saw in a crafting group this lady used a plate n cover it in the rope n made a trivet but she used less rope as she didn't do the middle cause its not seen when something is sitting on it. It was so pretty. I loved this idea also. Beautiful basket.

I love your little basket and the eggs are precious wither the jute string and tiny flowers. You might think about using newspaper for your paper mache that way no one will complain about cutting up books. Just a thought. I really love your channel.

Exactly right. My dollar tree doesn’t even have a craft aisle! The few supplies they carry are dispersed all over the store. I would love to order online but do not cases of most things. Ugh!

Love this project! I just bought Rust-oleum Hammered Silver spray paint yesterday and thought I’d give it a try on a couple items bcuz it looks like galvanized metal. It cost under $6 at Walmart and I believe it will go a long ways for spraying the small buckets and flower pot projects that I have planned. My favorite eggs that you made were the ones with the twine. Thank you for these ideas Katelyn and have a wonderful day ☺️

The Italian Teacher. There are some great spray paint for plastic and ceramic. Regular spray paint just runs down.

Let me tell you how I "age" pages of a new book to look old. I use a wet tea bag and rub the pages to tint them. It makes them wet and I leave them out in the sun to dry and it weathers or ages them nicely. Give it a try. 📖
