@Fabio R2016 This song was written in the 80s by Victor Griffin and Joe Hasselvander, it's not one of the 70s lineup songs, but it's absolutely one of their greats. There's really not a whole lot out there like Pentagram. The closest I can think of are Pagan Altar and Cirith Ungol, two heavy metal acts that started in the 70s and have deep 70s hard rock roots. Here are a few 70s hard rock suggestions for you if you're still interested. And Victor looks like Black Metal guitarist traveling a little bit back in time! Hell, even the instrumentation has some Black Metal vibes. Edit: and yeah I know King Diamond was around back then. But just sayin..:).
I would have gone nuts if i was at this show! So heavy and hard and thick sounding and raw. Simply amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like a tank going over your body!
there's some possession going on here with Bobby L. at the beginning of the set, I can see it, in the facial expressions..I've seen the Rockumentary of Pentagram, and I applaud Bobby's recovery, and after seeing the movie I ordered some of his bands CD's, and have listened to them over and over, very similar to Sabbath's early years, like all of Tony Iommi's better guitar solos, and all the drama, and Palace Intrigue, and Politics, and drugs and Talent, and so much that should have been, and after all that..Bobby is still going at it, the band is touring all over Europe, the fan based is widening, and Bobby is once again where he likes to be most, in front of an audience, entertaining people, and Rockin' and Rolling, and helping people forget their pain and trouble, and help release the often tired demons that trouble man's heart..
just saw a movie about the lead singer Robbie liebling , great movie , amazing come back for a major drug user , as a musician , engineer , I was impressed at his recovery
This song is kick-ass! I think it's awesome that these guys were big amongst the DC Hardcore scene! Can't believe i took this long too check'em out even tho i've known about them for quite awhile from Metal Maniacs magazine and their mention in the book American Hardcore! Great stuff, thanks for posting this!
He wouldn't be anything like the Bobby Liebling the man he is and ever has been. He'd have a completely different life experience, drawing inspiration from a completely different perception of events and feels and who knows if the same significant events that inspired his body of work would even be seen or capable of being seen with an alien driven perception. What I'm saying is that there'd be no Pentagram, no Pentagram does Death Row does Pentagram an certainly no keeping the band alive by any means possible being the single motivation of existence. There's no way...food for thought?
Its so annoying seeing so many people say Pentagram is earlier or even close in time to Sabbath. Sabbath recorded their heavier then hell album by October 1, 1969 and Pentagram made their first song "Last Daze Here" in 1972.
Oh I can guarantee cocaine was flowing through Bobby's veins lol. . these cats were tight, and powerful and scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.. I'm a 50 year old kid lol
My favorite metal band EVER!!! It doesnt matter what song I put on the kicker by Pentagram, I have to turn it up to 11 because it gives me wood and I start moshing. My neighbors dont seem to like them for some reason. They really hate this song.
yeah im 30 and I JUST discovered em MYSELF! I almost cant believe this was in 83. You wanna be totally blown away?! check this shit out! Pentagram - All Your Sins Live...my current new fav band

Sabbath's first album "Black Sabbath" was released in February 1970, Alice Cooper's first album "Pretty's For You" was released in June 1969. You got your dates all wrong. Just saying.
They started in 1971. The unreconized pioneers of metal
Black Sabbath is The pioners of Heavy Metal
+Everett Reish thats right...these guys were here in the states doing their thing in 68.....I dont think they ever heard of Sabbath yet.
I agree
Sabbath invented it just ask Bobby

Liebling is like a leather clad Captain Hook on Heroine
And Victor looks like Black Metal guitarist traveling a little bit back in time! Hell, even the instrumentation has some Black Metal vibes.

1973 or 2011, Pentagram is one of the HEAVIEST bands EVER.
How about 2023?
Listen to Dystopia

One of the best Pentagram songs. So evil, menacing and elegant, can't believe they wait until “Be Forewarned“ to put in in some LP or EP.
It is amazing how much before their time these guys were.
I would have gone nuts if i was at this show! So heavy and hard and thick sounding and raw. Simply amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like a tank going over your body!

Just think where they would be if Bobby didn't get addicted
Nowhere, because I'm not sure there's any realistic way this guy wouldn't have become addicted :)
