First off, IYRTITL was a mixtape not an album and no he didn’t write the whole thing for Drake… He was a credited co-writer on 5 songs and the tape had 17 songs in total. If you actually listen to the reference tracks Drake changed MOST of the lyrics but basically just used QM’s flow. Drake also used a Quentin Miller reference track for the song RICO with Meek Mill then Meek got mad when Drake didn’t post his album when it dropped which is what started the whole beef.
Always love seeing people get a more accurate version of the story. Not to say Q was not extremely influential in one of drakes arguably best albums but yeah word of mouth can change a story real quick@outerpersonal
He could have been way more successful,if people weren't upset with ghost writers.they literally ended Qm.not all writers are rappers.ive heard songs from Q that if drake sang would have been massive hit.he doesn't have the voice.but his pen is magic.
He basically wrote all the good songs on "If you're reading this it's too late". He has writing credits for: Know yourself, Legend, 10 bands, 6 man, No tellin, and Used to
I love his work and I love his story its inspirational. But ALL creatives know your value! Idk if he's speaking figuratively but if I had a million to give QM for his work I would already know that he's worth way more. 1 million $'s to 1 REAL hit like "How About Now" is night and day. You talking about timeless music that will generate every penny of revenue possible til the labels make 100 million. If you wanna take the bread upfront, have a plan and make sure they come up off it for where you headed not where you at and what you need right now. Thats how they f*ck you
