Sandy Dennis guttural cry should go down in the history books as the best. That lower tone at the end leaves nothing out. Devastation. Richard Burton plays this insane scene/circus like a master. The range of this guy is off the charts. At one time he is ferocious, another gentle, another vague and all over the place, another Shakespearean. Is there nothing Richard Burton cannot do on a moment's notice? Absolutely amazing! I was absolutely spellbound by his performance! And that's how you play get the guests.
_"Blondie and his Frau, out of the plains-states came."_ What a line. Just incredible! I mean it. This whole scene is full such incredibly well-written/well-delivered lines! 🍷
"Book dropper, 1st novel, my memory book ".... hints dropped by George .... which indicate to me Martha found his memory book, reframed it as a novel to her dad & created a new narrative. From then on, that became 'reality'. A narrative she taunts with, just before George lets loose here. Briilliant film! A must see for any psychology student or even professors.

I absolutely loved your comment
He should have won the Oscar. He was robbed.
@@hgoodin1013 Paul Scofield was at least as good in A Man For All Seasons
I would love George to recite bedtime stories to me. His are so ...delightful.

"His mouse is a wifey little thing"
Wordplay of extreme absurd level. But so real..
This “get the guests” game was DARK….

George was SAVAGE AF.
Silence!!!!
Hahahaha, have watched this for years, Burton only acting his real self, proper ripper..
You didn’t know him!
"..his mousey is a wifey little thing who gargles brandy..he was a pan-Kansas swimming champeen.."
Marvelous monolog.
