Hi. Next week I'll turn 76 and I'm still finding ways to declutter my life and thoughts and walk into the morning with hope, gratitude and one heck of a smile. Thanks for being one of my teachers.
That's amazing Sandy! I'm nearly 60, and I recently found Molly, and she's motivating me to get myself out of a year long funk to get moving again, but in a different, quieter, slower way. I have ADHD, which was recently diagnosed, and I'm learning to slow down and transform my life with the help of people like Molly. We have a lot to learn from the young uns, eh? ❤❤❤
@@tammymcleod4504 ditto here, ADHD,or ADD, not sure, age 64 and finally getting at all the dusty/ dirty baseboards, cleaning and decluttering. I've enjoyed my " stuff" and now it's time to send it on to someone else that can use it. It's very satisfying to see it go, but hard to keep on task. I break up cleaning into small segments. Little by little.
@@jenmorricone4014 Good on you, Jen! Yes, that's how I'm going to have to do my decluttering. It's such a mammoth task, and I'm not even someone who really holds onto things, I'm generally pretty good at getting rid of stuff I don't use or need. And I don't buy a lot of stuff either... except for books (which I accumulate and hardly ever read!!). So yep, that's how I'll have to do it, little by little! xxoo
Hi Molly love your channel and have been binge watching as I am trying to implement slow living into my life. Although I am much older than you I identify with almost everything you say. I rise between 5-5.30am every day and was for years made to feel guilty about it. I was told go to bed later and you will get up later. It doesn’t work it’s my natural body clock. Now I embrace who I am ( highly sensitive) I enjoy my own company, enjoy the simple things in life, love books and want a ‘slow living’ retirement. I have started writing poetry and a nature journal and I am very interested in your planners 😀 I wish I had found this lifestyle when I was younger but going to enjoy it now - thank you for your channel it’s an inspiration ❤️
We have a similar AM routine. 😊 I wake; coffee & read (1 hr); then pooch walk; shower; work all-day (from home) & mix-in various quick household chores; end-of-day: pilates/yoga; practice piano; dinner; clean-up; last thing: Italian practice before bed. It's during weekends if we are home, that I have some time to journal or dabble in watercolours... 😊 I do the bed thing too: let it aireate for several hours prior to tidying it. Now, if I could just open my door and have your beautiful countryside... someday! Hugs x
I am retired so I am definitely living a slow life, which I love! First thing is watching RUclips! I have a slow breakfast where I like to do word puzzles or write my diary. I also like to read some poems and an inspirational religious reading from a book that used to belong to my great grandmother. I also try to do some yoga. In the summer I go to the outdoor pool one day each week, so that's an early start.
I also get up at 5 am Monday to Fridays, do some stretches, leave at 6, return from work about 4.15pm and then try to slow things down, but there's still always lots to do. I am not sure if I should be envious of your routine or just accept that not everyone can live like that. I like to watch your videos and dream....
I really enjoy all of your videos. I was interested that you heat up your overnight oats. I just eat mine cold lol. Thank you for all of your gentle, intelligent inspiration xx
I have been progressing toward lsimpler living, downsizing and eating clean- I have kids and a few things that make me feel like I need to go slowly for but I am getting there- you are a big help in my inspiration!
Beautiful video Molly! You’ve inspired me to share some of mine - I think I’ll have to sketch out how I’ll film it - I get up between 5-6am in summer and make a hot drink, I write for a while by our fairy lights and then let our pet chickens out and potter in the green house… ❤🦥 after that the kids are usually waking up and the morning is spent looking after them and packing up for whatever we are doing that day. ✨🌳
Another beautiful inspiring video Molly. My favorite morning routine before work is to go for a walk and exercise. On weekends, besides that, I love to do my cooking and baking first thing and play my guitar. Have a good week!
Such a lovely morning routine Molly. Great video. Really enjoying the lighter mornings and the warm weather we are having.☀️🏴 Worth getting up early for. 🙂 Beautifully filmed and such a calming video to watch. Have a great week.💕
Hi Molly. I love your channel and watching your videos. Love the peaceful lifestyle you have created up there in the Highlands. Just wish I'd had the courage and conviction to do the same. I am getting on in years and its a bit too late do it now (old and aching bones) I'm afraid. When I was young I felt that there was something wrong with me, that i didn't like noisy pubs and clubs and always seemed drawn to wild and beautiful places and as a man felt a kind of guilt for being a sensitive soul. I see thing much more clearly now, and i think the internet has helped people in general to understand this more clearly. Please don't ever let anyone try to make you change your nature and more spiritual way of thinking. I too love the Scottish Highlands and have ventured there many times, especially when i have needed to cleanse my soul and think more clearly. I mainly go to the west coast area, and there are many beautiful places to explore, but one that draws me back is Glen Affric, if you've not been you must go. The first time i visited there the birds where coming into my car and eating out of my hands, it felt magical. Don't know if you have heard of Gavin Maxwell, he wrote a book in the early sixty's called, Ring of Bright Water, which was also made into a very good film in the early seventies. with Bill Travis and Virginia McEnna . I wont spoil it by telling you the plot, but i know you would enjoy it. God Bless Molly and please keep the videos coming.
What an inspirational video Molly, thank you. I like the idea of preparing a smoothie as a mid morning snack. Haha and I recognise the Aldi frozen fruit packing. I buy the same ones, they’re great 😁
Love your simple contented life. Do you get up at 5am in winter? If so, how do you cope with the dark mornings? Have you had a 5am routine for long? I would like to do this. I did for a while until a bereavement threw me and I’ve never managed to get back into it.
I've been getting up around 5am for a couple of years now. I tend to get up slightly later in the winter, closer to 5.30, but I do quite enjoy the darker mornings. I like to make it cosy with candle light :). I'm sorry to hear of your bereavement x
Lovely peaceful video. I too like to get up at 5am. I can make a start on the day before everyone else gets up. Just interested.. What time do you call bedtime. I'm usually in bed before 10 but earlier in the winter.
Hello Molly thank you as always for the lovely video. If possible please share the recipe for the overnight oats. I saw that you warmed it up, just a little confused. Thank you you aain
Sure! Its half a cup of oats, one cup of milk (I use oat milk) the around a tbsp of chia seeds and soak overnight. I like to add raisins as well to soak and fresh fruit in the morning :)
Loved this video. I bought your slow living planner on Etsy and I LOVE IT! I am just having trouble with the monthly calendar. I want to duplicate it and make pages for the rest of the months this year, but I cannot figure out how to get those correct calendars up. Can you help?
Thank you for supporting my shop lovely! Of course I will try and help. Do you want to send me an email and we can chat on there? - molly@hippyhighlandliving.com
Hello Molly. Thank you for sharing, it was calming to watch. May I ask, when you start your working day with your part time job? And when do you go to bed? I too wake up around 5 a.m., because I'm not a morning person and need more time to get ready and I prefer to do everything slowly, before heading to work. Have a good week 🙏
Like you Anita, the main reason I like to wake at 5am is so I can go about my morning in a relaxed, way, I don't like to rush, especially if I'm going into work or an appointment 😊 Plus, I prefer to do things in the morning so I can relax more at night & head to bed about 9pm for a bit of a light read, usually fiction. In the morning I start with lemon water & medication then shower, pray, do some stretch & strengthen exercises, food prep or squeeze some cooking in for dinner if I need to & if I have any time left I might spend 10 min learning Wolof language or reading non-fiction. Phew! But at times, if sleepy & unmotivated I will do some of these things rather than all. I like to think of it as a list of options to choose from 🌠
