Thank you for sharing this walkthrough ☺️ I have ordered mine but it hasn’t arrived yet as I am live quite far away. As I am french & have seen some content from the creators of this deck I just thought you might want to know that they have actually used actual medieval drawings from grimoires and stuff to make all the images. Even the backs are from an image from medieval times and down to every details like the tiny snail on the 9th pentacles or the falcon they apparently spent months of research in archives to find images to use to redraw all the cards which I found pretty cool. Just wanted to share for people who can’t read the little guide in French as I think it makes this deck quite unique 😊
@@the_hermits_cave you’re welcome 😊 the author did a video (in French) explaining some of their inspiration but around 7min30sec you can see the walkthrough of the grimoire images that inspired some of the cards from the silhouette of people all down to like the little details she shows some of their source and process to redraw if you are curious to see 😊 ruclips.net/video/kAGV9xJIKqs/видео.html It’s like a little slice of history which I find interesting. Thanks again for sharing a French deck I really enjoyed your walkthrough ☺️
It has become my soul deck, the one I waited for such un long time. The Marseille tradition mixed with RWS. Emmanuelle's work is famous in the french community. I'm so happy it's shared by you, Simon.
Super happy I saw this..I love it Simon. Thanks for sharing - reminds me a bit of Dame Fortune's wheel tarot. I have wanted to love deck of the bastard, but the different art styles mess with my head, but this deck's consistency works perfectly. The vibrancy also reminds me of Fournier's Le Tarot de Marseille . My favourite is The Tower card - RWS usually have Yods and TDM usually have dots, but this deck used flowers. Made me smile. 🙂
I absolutely love, love, love this deck. Several months ago I purchased two copies (original and backup) of it with their French guidebooks. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed they were selling a used copy of the deck with a guidebook that is in both English and French. Woohoo! It was even less money than the new French decks. It has arrived. It is a lovely guidebook and so worth it to have a guidebook I can actually read (sorry, I am one of those “arrogant” Americans, who are not bilingual - although I have taken Spanish I & II three times, but since I never used it, I lost it.) the point of this comment is that if you are bilingual keep an eye for one the decks that has the guidebook in English.
Hello Simon , I chose your channel to discover this deck although I’m french....I tried to avoid to watch any french review because I knew that I will not be able to resist but this deck is so special. I was so happy to see that you have made ilts review .Emmanuelle Iger and the artist have done such a good job with this deck in a " middle ages" style ! I broke down. Kisses from France😘
I'm impressed with this! Nice box. Yay paper band!!!!! Colors and illustration quality - very nice! Though I wouldn't consider this a Marseille deck, this is one of the nicest decks I've seen walked through in quite awhile.
I think what makes it for me is that the entire style looks like medieval tapestries or paintings. Those elf-like figures that have the distinctly medieval head tilt and body shape, and that it's line drawn rather than woodblock. Interesting, looking at this deck, how much I'm reminded that the original RWS court cards were drawn close to their Marseilles predecessors. I've been a little obsessed with Marseilles + RWS hybrid decks lately, including Svatojansky (Midsummer) Tarot by Eva Francova. Thanks for the walkthrough!
I love the late medical art style interpretations of the minors. I studied history and art I. Uni and medieval era was my specialty, so I always love when someone does a nod to that style. Thanks for sharing. 💕
Mine got here today. Something about the faces reminds me of Pixie’s faces, especially that angry moon face, lol. This is such a gorgeous deck that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Lots of hidden quirks to discover.
First-love the reading cloth and background music. The CARDS though- oooo I like them. I think it’s a great concept and one I might need to add to my collection. The Moon card-not one I usually look for but that image is staying with me. ❤️
Omg Simon I love this deck and how it’s a mixture of Waite 😳 I gotta get this I’m so in love 😍 lmao 😂 Thanks 🙏 for sharing 💖 I’m like you I love collecting anything that’s like Rider Wait and I still need to get that oracle you shared from Etsy 💖
Hi Simon, I'm French and I've got this brand new deck too. I really think the concept is quite unique and as you said I think the artwork really gives unity. The keywords in the guidebook are really well chosen for those who can read French and l love the feel and the noise of the stock and this deck delivers straight forward messages. I was happy to see this French deck on your channel and to hear your thoughts about it.
I’m waiting on mine. You & I ordered the same day, but of course France is a litttttle further to reach me. I look forward to it though. Imagine these done in an archival independent manner as opposed to mass market? They would be amazing but it seems as is it is very worth it?!?
Thank you for this review ! I am french, and when first hearing of this deck I dismissed it as a novelty..... but now that I see the beautiful art I seriously consider getting it ! Thank you for being an enabler 😁. I am just quite disapointed that La Force is 8 and Justice is 11. Coming from the Marseille tradition, I really prefer to read Justice as an 8. But the beautiful art will make up for that ! 🌷
Could someone tell me if there are oracles that have that card quality? This tarot has the best card quality I've had I mean the quality of paper vernis... I adore it so much.😍
Hi Hermit...i've a question: what's about the look of court cards? In the marseille tarot we have a precise direction of look of Major and minor arcana...in the rider waite no...how do you solve It? About It, the marseille tarot is more predicative then waite...don't you? Thanks so much for your response...
I have to say, you gave that box a really good whack 🤣 This is lovely, I really do like it. As someone who struggles with pip decks but does like the classic Marseille Majors, I think this would be perfect for me 😊 thank you so much for showing it 😍❤️

Still from Amazon France?
This is so much more cohesive than I would have expected! This is going right on my wishlist! 😍

Love this! So awesome. I love the Marseille majors and mixed with Waite minors, pure goodness
Couldn’t agree more, so well thought out and the synthesis is just great. Good to see you!

Oh amazing Simon I had no idea such a hybrid existed - how brilliant! Thanks for sharing 😊 xx
Great isn’t it?
Wonderful synthesis of two systems and beautiful artwork.
It is SO well done isn’t it. Really impressed 😍
Cool deck Simon, thanks for the walkthrough. I agree I think there's room for this deck in the pantheon.
For sure! Thanks for watching Val 🙏🏼♥️
Ordered! I’m in love! Thanks for the walk through!
Very nice. Better than I expected. I would definitely buy this one.
Just ordered a copy so I can learn the RWS pips system as I usually use TDM.

A nightmare to order from Australia but I think I succeeded! Beautiful images lovely colouration- thank you
Wow love these I have just ordered a deck. Thanks to you 😎
Hope you enjoy it! 😍
@@the_hermits_cave I’m sure I will, I did have a vintage Marseille deck in the 70s but never really liked the minors.
I’m so happy I found your channel! Love this deck.
Me too!
I love it!! Mind you, when I saw the Devil, my first thought was... The Gruffalo 😁😁😁
Yes!!! 😝
I like how it’s both yes 🙌

How are you finding it Chris?
Whattt! it is £45 from amazon uk. I am going to check out Amazon Fr more often.
Oh it wasn’t even on Amazon UK the other day 😮
The style reminds me of the old Celtic Tarot by Piatnik.
My copy was $40 USD with shipping. 😊
What an amazing find. Charming, clever and quite beautiful...Just ordered it... And the little black book will put my French to the test... ☺ 💌
Enjoy!
One good advice to enjoy the booklet is Google traduction ! We, poor french tarotlovers use it almost everyday!😂😂😂

Thanks for the video! For a beginner, to use this marseille waite version, should learn and read books of tarot de marseille or rider wait?
I received mine last week. Thought it was an interesting idea to have an RWS deck painted in Marseille style
Absolutely! I love it 😍

56 USD, pretty into the concept and art but don't think I can justify it right now...
Do you think these images can compete with the UUSi tarot images? To me they seem quite far from the best quality🧐 your opinion?
I don’t think they were trying to compete with UUSI?
Haha so my videoin your group that I shared made you get it
Well it is nice that you like it it is a great deck
Aaah so it was you!
Just immediately bought this. Maybe post-Trump euphoria? But these cards are gorgeous.
You’ll always have a deck as a reminder of this great day
