Having read some deeply personal and incredible stories of Rwandans, one of the foremost motivations in visiting this country was to understand more of the seemingly comprehensible history. In Kigali we visited the fascinating and well-put-together genocide memorial.
Kwibuka - meaning "to remember" in Kinyarwanda, carries a profound significance that extends beyond the act of memorializing the more than one million lives tragically lost in 1994.
