MAKE SO MUCH MORE PLEASE I LOVE UR ANIMATRONIC BUILDS AND EXAMPLES THEYRE SO GOOD
As always I am amazed how much dedication you put into that! Really awesome (also the way the video has been produced).
Your videos are hypnotizing! Thank you so much for sharing your process with us 👌🏽
I love so much this animatronic. Great improvement!
The movement is much smoother! Great job! It's really cool to see your improvement. Thanks for sharing your process with us!
Outstanding job. Love all the improvements.
Love your work and videos! Looking forward to more in the future!
I am building a King Kong (form skull island ride) off of these video concepts. I cannot wait for the coding video!
You should have a paid for class that we can sign up for that has tutorials. Your content is awesome! Please keep making these!!!!!
This is super cool, your Blender plugin is exactly what I've been searching for! I can't wait to see the "live mode" feature in action.
Awesome job! Learning a lot from you
He's really improved a lot! Awesome job!!
Wow Amazing Good Job
C'est excellent !
SO AMAZING! GREAT JOB TIM. SALUTE FROM INDONESIA!
First.
This is amazing. Its alot smoother and way more fluid. Great job.
Hi Tim, I'm Bolinha from Brazil and I Just wanna to say that your video is amazing and very, very inspiring. I still couldn't fully understand how to implement it in my projects but soon we will. congratulations my friend! I'm your fan
Secondly,I would add plastecine to the brow to make it look more like a grimace
I wish i could buy this
Great Job! i'm learning blender now, Just to use your addon
@Tim Hendriks hey, i love your projects. Its just amazing what you are doing all by yourself. It would be very interesting if you would do an Video where you go in detail about the creation of an animatronic figure. from the drawingboard to the endresult. At the moment i am also trying to come up with an good idea for an potential animatronic project, and also to test if i like doing it. but i have no clue how to do so. XD
Wow this is amazing, Will be awesome if you took a stab at making a bird animatronic from the enchanted tiki room ! Look forward to seeing more in the future.
You should make the bride version for this ride I would really love to see her. Maybe it can be her crying in the mirror or it can be her looking for her husband. Before the refurbishment.
But besides that, this is beautiful and amazing!
Amazing work!! Love it. How do you draw objects to correct dimensions in blender, Ive always struggled making think exact sizes in Blender. Also can you show how you make the gears mesh and work together in Blender. Thanks
I liked what you did to update the Phantom is it possible to get updated Blender file and code update to the plug in for Blender?
Definitely a few improvements from the first iteration! Keep up the great work Tim! Love seeing a new video. Which servos are you using for his arms, elbows?
Thanks a lot! For the arms I'm mostly using some GH-S37A nano (sometimes also referred to as mini micro) servos. They are pretty weak, but at least fit into the tiny amount of space I have on that scale 😉
Very impressed! I have tried to fix the baggy movement of the waist, without very success. Also I have had a move (to a new home) and I have broken his neck several times :(
There's any chance that you update / upload the blender again?
There's any place where you share more closely this progress? Will be nice to have a community, I think there's other people that also tried to do it! Or even a Patreon with some paid subscription!
Thanks, I guess adding the tapered roller bearing did the trick for me. I just updated the .blend file again: www.tim-hendriks.com/files/PhantomAnimatronic.blend
Apart from the comment section here on RUclips, I would recommend to check out some Facebook groups which are very interesting for people who want to build their own animatronics:

I think this is the third time I wrote the response, and I always lost it. I think youtube is removing the comment because I added a link or something.
First of all! Thank you very much for updating the Blend file, it’s very kind from your side! Thank you!
I started to recap all the components needed into an Amazon Wishlist (steel rods, universal joints, tapered roller bearing, servos (again)...), they will be at home next Friday :D
I’m going to start printing everything again, and keep both versions at the same time, it’s the first animatronic I build that works, and it’s quite nostalgic now.
On the other hand, I commented on another thread of this video, that I’m using Raspberry Pi Zero and Python to run the JSON animations (with your plugin), this allow me to handle the animatronic via SSH and Wifi, and make some advanced stuff.
If you feel curious, my username is “JordiOrriols”, and the repository name is “animatronic”. Just in case :)
I still miss to play automatically the audio while playing the JSON animation, this will make a perfect sync.
I also checked the Facebook groups, and there are a lot of interesting stuff! Thanks, will be very fun to look into!
Thank you for inspiring us!
Are you able to run live mode on multiple servos?
Hi Tim! Love the video. What kind of screws did you use? Is there a screw kit I can find?
Hi and sorry for the late reply 🙈 I mostly used M2 screws (with a round head) and some M3 screws. Since I often need various screw lengths, I just searched on Amazon for a box with different sizes.
When can we get a Freddy Fazbear animatronic that sings and sometimes malfunctions to make him look more possed
This is amazing? One issue I have experienced with the blender addon in windows 10 is that it does not export and gives an error saying "No module named 'serial'. It does this for both export methods. Any tips?
nvm i think i got it
What app do you use to simulate?
I am just now trying to learn about this stuff and it seems pretty complicated, I would probably only know the traditional sculpting part and not the 3d printing way of creating my art , How long did it take you to learn this stuff?
That's not exactly easy to answer, as there is both the 3D sculpting / modeling and the actual printing to learn. I spent months if not years to practice and improve both, but I think it's possible to learn some basic sculpting / modeling and how to use a 3D printer in a couple of weeks. Just try to start with something small first and make use of the many great tutorials about both topics here on RUclips ☺️👍
Have you tried a mini maestro servo controller?
No I haven't, until now I didn't see any advantage over a PCA9685 module when controlling servos via my Blender Add-on. What would be the advantage in your opinion?
@@timhendriks93 I didn't tried with a mini maestro servo, but instead with a Raspberry Pi, in order to be able on the future to add other functionality with AI (maybe someday) via Python., or just to control it via WiFi via SSH. I think this is the greatest part, forgive about usb cables.
@@timhendriks93
They are an all in one solution. It's a PIC microcontroller with all the output pins being pwm. Since they are arduino compatable, you may be able to use one to replace both your arduino and the PCA9685. They also have there own programming software. Not required but useful.
@@mr.e.484 Thanks, it's definitely cool to have a board which could eliminate the need for another microcontroller. I guess you'd still need one when adding sound or buttons to trigger / control the animation.
Would you ever make these files available for sale? Would be a great learning experience!
I already have shared them here and there in the comments for free 😉 For example, here is the updated blend file for the Phantom: www.tim-hendriks.com/files/PhantomAnimatronic.blend
@@timhendriks93 How did you achieve the audio playback and servo motor movement at the same time?
@@HYBECTIVE since I'm using simple DFPlayerMini modules there is no way no get feedback or information from the player about the current play position. Instead, I have to time the start of the playback correctly as soon as my animation starts. Sometimes it helps to wait a few milliseconds to give the audio module some time to actually start the playback.
Triggering audio might also be easier with my Arduino library which supports a callback function every time the animation mode changes. You can find hints about where to trigger audio in the comments of the following example: github.com/timhendriks93/blender-servo-animation-arduino/blob/v1.1.0/examples/SwitchModeButton/SwitchModeButton.ino#L44-L58
@@timhendriks93 Thank you so much, I am trying to make a simple code for my Jolly Roger, from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and have a DFPlayerMini with me to create the code. I am bad at coding but am using ChatGPT to help me, it is very helpful with simple code. I actually have a video on my channel about the Jolly Roger and would like to apply your blender animation method, since it's only one motor it will be a very good introduction project.Thank You again! Really inspired me!
can you make a tutorial on how to make our own animatronics like yours! i really want to recreate the mickey mouse revue alice in wonderland scene and mickey animatronic
That is actually pretty hard as there are so many steps and components involved 🙈 However, I try to cover some of the aspects like the animation in Blender and hope that I can give some hints about topics like 3D modeling and electronics. At least for the latter topics there are plenty of good videos to be found on RUclips 👍
Did you model the skull yourself? Would you share the model 🙏
I took a generic skull model which I found online and tweaked it a bit to make it look more like the Phantom. Here you can find the whole 3D model of my Phantom animatronic including the head: www.tim-hendriks.com/files/PhantomAnimatronic.blend
@@timhendriks93 oh sick! Thanks!
