Thank you for your video. But there is something I don't get it. The moment you rotate the survey point your north symbol should be pointing up? (the rotation should have been done from the reference line to the top?)
EDIT: also does it makes a difference if you clip/unclip the survey point at the moment of the rotation?

What if the Project North is also the True North (site was generated from SKP geolocation)? How do I make the location accurate?

Hi. Thanks for the video a few yrs ago. I have the same question as Ivan re: the symbol pointing straight up. That was confusing seeing the line pointing to the side after rotation. Also, I was shown to use the ctr of the proj base point as the rotation point but you used the survey point. Should one always use the survey pt as rotation for True North? Thanks again.

I had the same comment, glad that other people saw it. He should’ve rotated the project starting from the North symbol orientation counterclockwise to the noon time. Then the North is pointing UP and the project as it is in the map.

You didn't talk about when you might want to rotate project north. I have true north set correctly in my model but my drafter drew the plan upside down in a view set to project north. Now what?

you did not unclip the survery point for the rotation....

Thanks for uploading this helpful video. Sir I have a another query also. I have a 3d model created in architectural but now I want to see my model in 32 degree rotated from top in 3d view, What should I do because the true north don't show the rotated model in 3D view and doesn't seem in 3D view.
And plz tell any Idea to rotate multiple objects because when I am rotating them together they go far with respect to each other.

I have a doubt, if I need a true north but specific to a location, how do I know how much to rotate the project?

Compare your aerial Revit view to a Google Earth aerial for locating True North....

Good tutorial...you could have added a copple of notes on the Survey Point, how it should be relocated (clipped vs unclipped) same as you did with project base point.Mentioning survey points and coordinates; an added note on spot coordinates which may already exist in the project before rotating true north and setting to project base point vs relative would have added more value to the demo and made it complete Keep up the good work...although I am not sure if you are still publishing any new

hi i really liked your video but i have a problem with my two north. I drawn plan in the geographic north so when i choose project north my plan is slanted. And i would like to know if it's possible to reset the settings.

Your best option is to just rotate all elements from a site plan view to the proper orientation. Just remember to unpinned the base and survey points! There isn't a switch orientation toggle unfortunately!

FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT ACCURATE SHADOWS IN PROJECT NORTH (which should be everybody cause who t f wants inaccurate shadows)
starting at 5:20 the video says you can get correct shadows in true north but you cant get accurate shadows in project north this is false, you can get accurate shadows in project north by going into sun settings and turning of relative to view, a more detailed explanation follows... go into the view that you want shaded and that is aligned to project north, click on the sun icon at the bottom of the screen next to the visual style icon, then click on sun settings, in the window that opens the Lighting option will be selected, do either 1 of the following 1) uncheck the relative to view on the right side of the window under altitude or 2) change Lighting to Still or 3) select 1 of the Presets that are located under Lighting
