the pure rage i felt towards the cops when you said that they beat this 14 yr old boy who had his friend just KILLED it’s so devastating how this kid was treated
right?? that boy needed his mama and to be held right then, praised for trying to save his friend. he risked his life and didnt run home he waited and even literally gave his bestie the shirt off his back. he made sure if nothing else that his friend died loved and knowing he wasnt alone. if i were that mother those cops would be in jail. how dare they look at the care he gave his friend and try to pin the murders on him. idc how much they wanted the case solved, pinning it on a 14 year old victim isnt the way to make their jobs easier

The 14 year old is probably the strongest mind I've ever seen. He watched horrid things happen to his friend, still tried to help him, got beaten by police that tried to pin his friend's murder on him, and did not buckle. Mad props to him, and I hope that he is living at least a content life
I drop something and I want to cry, like damn- that kid deserves the best life. He's gonna go places with that kind of strong mind.
He even amazingly and harrowing escaped with all the strength he could have and wittingly thought of not going further into the woods but parallel. Strong and smart he is.

For some reason I just want to find that kid and hug him because he just went through hell.
He watched his friend get beat and tried to save him just for him to die and then the police blame him for killing his own best friend and beat him for not admitting to it and can't even go to his funeral out of fear and terror.
Dude that 14 year old boy deserves so much better his friend died in his arms and people think her murderd him-

Watching your friend murdered, having the fear of getting caught when you escaped, and to finish it off the police blaming it all on you.

There's a possibility they don't have this rule anymore.
That’s what bothers me so much about that rule. It’s too long of a time to wait.
I don't know if this rule ever existed or when it was changed if it did, but in the US there is no law that requires a waiting period before reporting someone missing. If you call the cops to request a missing persons report and they say you have to wait 24 to 72 hours before you can request it, it is purely for them to get out of doing paperwork. If you have legitimate reason to believe that a person is missing, then you have the right to request that report immediately. Source: I grew up in a law enforcement household and that was drilled into my head from childhood.
It should be
4 hours for kids under 13
7 hours for teens
10 hours for young adults
13 hours for adults
If not less
also how they force confessions out of suspects. Imagine how many are wrongfully imprisoned with the actual offender gleefully living their life

Technically these are not snuff films. Snuff films are when the sole purpose of the murder is for the filming & for profit. These men did not do this for profit, & the filming was incidental. These murders were not "business". Just an fyi

for abducted children, 76% die within the first three hours, and out of those who make do make it through the first three hours, 88.5% of them still die within the first 24 hours. its actually so awful that there are any rules about how long you must wait to report someone as missing. The first day is crucial.

Since you weren't sure how the Ukraine was doing after the fall of the Soviet union at the beginning of your video, I thought I could shed some light. I was born in Kharkiv, eastern Ukraine and moved to Germany in the two thousands, but spend all my holidays over there with my grandparents. The country was doing quite horrible. The government was corrupt and the people were very poor. On my way to kindergarten which took 5 minutes we saw many homeless people, because homelessness is a large issue. Lots of cats and dogs just live in the cities like wild animals and often attack. Also criminality is a large problem to this day, while the police sometimes just is pretending to care especially when the victim is LGBTQ (my own experience). 2014 the president was chased out of the country and afterwards the people try to make the country a better place, but it's a long and rough way while the people are still the same as they used to be.
If it wouldn't be for my grandparents I would never want to return over there. Everyone who can leaves this mess.
The center of Kharkiv looks beautiful now and is inspired by Munich in Germany, but only because the mayor wasted all the money there was on it to attract tourists.
Edit: and the behavior of the police in this case sadly isn't suprising.

When she said that people had to wait 72 hours to file a missing person's alert, I was shocked. Especially if you know of the low probability of a missing person being found alive after 24-48 hours.
The first 4 hours are crucial for a captives survival. I can't imagine needing to wait so long
They weren’t dealing with a very competent police force - they beat a poor 14 yr old kid.
Tbf most adults that go missing do turn up alive and went off on their own accord. Im pretty sure the 4 hours and 24 hour thing are more so in relation to kids
the thought of being a victim of a kidnapping and knowing that you'll have to survive a whole 3 days before it's even legal for anyone to search for you

That 14 year old was so brave and quick with his thinking, to do all of that in a state of fear and shock is beyond me, I hope he’s somewhat okay considering the trauma:/

i remember seeing the leaked footage as a child like 10 years ago. the victim's face and pained noises haunt me to this day.

Normally I wouldn't comment on such an "old" video because I assume everything I might have to say has been said before but this can't be said often enough:
If there's a child on the side of the street covered in blood and half-naked or just seeming lost or disorientated or whatever you STOP. Doesn't matter if you'll be late for work, missing an appointment or even a flight this is more important.
Does not have to be a child I was hit on the head and blacked out a couple saw me laying on the sidewalk a stop to help me I had no idea what happened to me they saved me I did not even know who I was this at 5pm day light they got 8.00 us and all most killed me. Yes and no. I have an infant son. If I see a potentially dangerous situation, i'm not stopping to risk my life knowing well my son has nobody but me. I'll call cops and give a location, but I will not be stopping.
Completely breaks my mama heart that a 14 ye old was beat for a confession. So proud of him for not “giving in”. Not even adults can do that. Most will admit to something they didn’t do to get it to stop.

These kind of videos go viral for the “shock factor” and I think people forget that they’re real victims who experienced traumatic and violent deaths because they can find the videos online and can dissociate from that
It's true and must be disgusting watching people talking about your murdered relatives like a teatime story. But on the other hand it helps spread information about these things which helps society mature, behave and work better in preventing this crimes so it's like a necessary bad otherwise the victims died for nothing.

this was one of the most disturbing cases I've ever heard about. I remember when the video was first making its rounds on the internet around like 2007-2008 (?), being just a young 13 year old girl at my grandmas house with my cousins and somehow hearing about the video and watching it on the desktop computer. forever being scarred and realizing how deeply depraved humans can be. I'm not even that sensitive to gore and violence from growing up on the internet but this one just hits different for some reason.
I havent thought about this case in years and I'm 25 now. its funny though, being a grown adult, I could never rewatch that disturbing video _now,_ but back when I was an innocent kid, I somehow did.

Yo, not even joking. My sister showed me 3 guys 1 hammer when I was 10 years old. I didn't know what was happening until I watched that man choking and gargling on his own blood. I couldn't sleep for almost two months and I'm still scarred from watching it so young.
I saw it when I was really young as well. Fucked me up for a good while. I just thought it was staged. So eerie to hear that the video was of a real murder 😳

@@knotsandkhaos7382 my sister was really into shock sites at the time and for whatever reason she thought showing me videos like that was funny. By the time I was 11 I already had knowledge of bestgore, 1 man 1 jar etc. Seeing stuff like that really gave me bad anxiety at such a young age. At some point she had shown me a video of a man getting beheaded with a full knife. She’s not like that at all now! In fact, she’s only 3 years older than me and has pretty severe anxiety herself.
@@knotsandkhaos7382 my sister informed me afterwards that it was a real video leaked from Russia and that’s when i felt my heart drop and felt nauseous. I honestly thought she was showing me a skit on RUclips. But then she told me it was real and the guy that recorded took lots of close up footage of that mans face, he was still alive, choking on his own blood. I could see his soul leave his body, I think that’s what made me the sickest.

It’s a really horrible case about a 10 yo boy who was tortured and murdered by his adoptive parents (I think). It’s a disgusting case. Homeless people are so overlooked, everyone treats them like if they don't exist. It brings me comfort to know that this man's death didn't go unnoticed to someone and my heart also feels for that poor man that probably lost the only friend that he had while on the streets.
I have realized that homeless people are just like the average population. There are angry homes less people, criminals, violent, introvert, extrovert, and so on. They are people just like anybody.

Haven’t watched the video yet, but the title brought back some bad memories... I watched the video of them murdering him back when it happened unaware I was watching a real murder until it was over... this case.. I can handle a lot but after actually seeing this poor man murdered I’m not sure I can watch all the way through.

I feel so sorry for the 14 years old boy, he just saw a murder of his friend, and was nearly murdered, and the police beaten him? The police is here to protect and help, but it doesn't seem like it sometimes.
There are good cops out there, but all of the bad ones you hear about makes it really hard to trust any of them. My dad has horrible luck with police. I don't think he's ever been beaten by them. But he has been harassed by ones who are just looking for any reason to arrest someone, even if that person has done nothing wrong.
