XL ALL DAY. I have one of these and agree on all of the points you made about it. I wasn't an Arcade1Up guy until they started making these cabinets much more like their real life counterparts. If they keep making decent future XL offerings, I'll be picking them up. Great review!
Displaying input lag starting at 3:22 with Galaga. Put this on 0.25 speed and watch when you press left or right and its very noticeable. Sad ! I would have love this cab but with such input lag issue I am not buying that for sure.
Nice review Michael B. I think this is the best cab they have put out overall. XL's are what most people want, some don't as they "feel" the XL's will stick out in their arcade compared to cabs on risers.
If they make the cabinet that way from the very start, they don't get cash from people like me buying each version as new improvements were made hahaha. And I'm with ya, absolutely hate the light up buttons. That's a decision made by someone who knows nothing about arcade cabinets and collectors, but rather someone who sees it as a cheap win as it's one more 'Features' bullet that can be listed that you get for the XL price tag. But yes, aside from those it's a beautiful cab and hope they just start making nothing but XL.
Is this the last time they release this version of Pac-Man? After XL they can’t go anywhere else, pro doesn’t make sense. I know they still have Ms Pac-Man and class of 81 XL left but they might be Pac-Man out after this which means a big loss of repeat revenue. XXL with 24” screen?
I mean other than making something that is essentially almost a 1:1 replica of the original Arcade I don't know where they go from here. They will make more, you can bet the farm on that
Great review! I also have one. I think the issues you mentioned with the placement of the art and the narrow control panel would be remedied were this cab about 3-4 inches deeper. The original is almost 3 feet deep whereas this one is not even 2 feet deep! I think 25 inches of depth is the sweet spot. Also, what’s up with the inconsistent quality among the various pieces of wood? The side panels have surprisingly good thickness/quality whereas the kick plate panel feels like poster board. The back panel is like cardboard. They really need to make the kick plate panel wood as thick as the side panel wood. Because this cab is so nice and faithful to the original, I want to add a real, functional coin door to it. However, I can’t because the poster board kick plate to which it will attach will not hold it:( . Great review, overall, Mike!
I desparately hope Arcade1Up understands that being yet-another-Pac-Man (YAPM) didn't sell this cab... being a *properly-executed XL* and getting tons of word-of-mouth sold this cab. Now, bring on the rest of the XLs! (Also, Michael B., "narrow," usually refers to being less wide [left/right] and "deep" usually refers to being the opposite of shallow [front/back]... you used those interchangeably when talking about the cabinet and the control panel sizes, and that was a bit confusing.)
Any news if this is coming to UK ?? , if not , one of our retailers over here has dragons lair for £299 and Shaq Jam for £349 , so may have to visit those if not , inside information would be most welcomed 😂🕹👍
Just Pac-Mania and marvel vs capcom 2 at the moment , liberty games and GAME are the UKs biggest stockists and nothing there yet and I have reached out to both 👍
Going to be putting one of these together as a christmas gift for someone soon. Found a bunch of info about modding their previous releases, but figuring out anything for this one is quite hard to search for. Is it a "gen 2" unit or something newer entirely? Fantastic video btw, you answered many questions I had.
My new Deluxe Galaga has input lag/latency issues and does not play as smoothly as my Gen1 cab. Even more noticeable on Pac-Man especially when playing in fast mode. Really hope they have an update fix for this.
Sorry man. Never had the gen 1 Galaga but my partycade one is very choppy and slow. Fortunately, the version in the Pac-Man XL runs great, much smoother and faster than the partycade version.
I’m actually putting mine together as we speak. It seems that the marquee only has plastic on one side the “glossy side”. Is that correct? Otherwise, I can see myself playing with it for hours. 😅
Enjoying mine!….though I modded it with an all vertical build. But it is good stock too. Size definitely matters. Bring on more XL’s damnit! (hoping for Star Wars soon)
Why can't they just make it so you hold down the P1 button to get out of a game like every other cab? Seems kinda silly. Great review. This is in my purchase queue!
13:10-13:33: Michael B, you hit it right on the nose as to what is eventually wrong with the Pac-Man XL Cabinet. Those issues, including the unnecessary addition of the light up buttons - which I find it distracting -would eventually be corrected with a Pro Cab version of Pac-Man, which I believe would be made in late 2024 or early 2025, if Arcade1Up is still in business. It is a crying shame that it would take the Pro version of it to make these corrections. I would indeed get the Pro version, which would need at least 20 to 22 games to make it buyable, but I will pass on the Pac-Man XL Cab, which I feel that with these different versions of Pac-Man to date is nothing more than to milk money from consumers.
Can I say one thing about your videos that make them difficult to watch for me? Your intro music is WAY too loud. It's about twice as loud as all your other audio.
Hi Everybody, Thanks for checking out the video! Let me know what you think of the Pac-Man XL from Arcade1Up, is this there best cab yet?
This is my opinion of it.

I have all of the XL cabs they've made so far. Are there going to be more?
I walked into a Cosco store I saw this game playing laggy you can see it’s laggy by watching it
I want a XL MS PAC man
Great review. I bought one at my local Costco. Just waiting for my new buttons and switches I ordered to come in before I build it. 😉

Are those dead pixels I’m seeing on the monitor or dust specks?
They really need to make an update to turn off the lights, and even save that as a default setting. Light up buttons are stupid.
i just cant get excited about another pacman. how are they not using brand name sticks and buttons?

@michael what are your top 3 favorite cabinets?
This Pac-Man XL is one of the main reasons to get excited for future A1UP Cabs. Great video MichaelB.
Will there be more cabs? I don't see anything on the website for future plans.
Pretty sure there will never be a combined Pac-Man/Ms. Pac-Man cabinet due to the whole licensing issues between the two.
I desparately hope Arcade1Up understands that being yet-another-Pac-Man (YAPM) didn't sell this cab... being a *properly-executed XL* and getting tons of word-of-mouth sold this cab. Now, bring on the rest of the XLs!

Original Pacman had Orange T-moulding
Hey Michael B. - nice video! Any chance that this machine will make it to Costco in Canada or any other store? Thanks!
Any news if this is coming to UK ?? , if not , one of our retailers over here has dragons lair for £299 and Shaq Jam for £349 , so may have to visit those if not , inside information would be most welcomed 😂🕹👍
No idea yet, have previous Costco releases made it over there?
Just Pac-Mania and marvel vs capcom 2 at the moment , liberty games and GAME are the UKs biggest stockists and nothing there yet and I have reached out to both 👍
The opening riff you play, where is it from? It's driving me crazy that I can't pull it. Lol
Hey michael the pacman xl is soldout everywhere i look have you heard if cosco will be restocking it again or not
It's you, it's you Michael Boo.🤣I'm trying to be Halloween themed here. I really enjoy your honest reviews!!!!
It's sold out... does that mean i have to purchase after market? or will they offer it again through other channels.
This cab or Golden Tee XL?

Aside from the smoothing option, does this cab or any other 1-Up cabs also have scanline options?
I’m actually putting mine together as we speak. It seems that the marquee only has plastic on one side the “glossy side”. Is that correct? Otherwise, I can see myself playing with it for hours. 😅
I would almost always disagree with what "Bee Kong" says.😅 thanks for the mention and happy birthday you sexy beast!
Is there offline/ local leaderboards?
How difficult is it to install? Would've been more helpful if you went into detail with that.
Enjoying mine!….though I modded it with an all vertical build. But it is good stock too.
Size definitely matters. Bring on more XL’s damnit! (hoping for Star Wars soon)
Would you share the video conversion board that you are using?
XL Tron pleaaaaaaase
All arcade cabinets are toys. Some are just higher quality (commercial/residential toy) great review 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Support for scanlines would be on my wish list. Otherwise, this looks pretty solid for those who are able to actually buy one. 🚫🍁
Why can't they just make it so you hold down the P1 button to get out of a game like every other cab? Seems kinda silly.
Great review. This is in my purchase queue!
I really hate the control deck being one piece with the bezel. That's kind of a deal breaker as nice as this cab is.
Smooth move, Sir. Sure fits well back there.

Seems to be sold out from Costco wondering if they’ll offer it outside of Costco or should I overpay on eBay 😂
Where did u get it?
He says it in the beginning of the video
All that youtube stuff? A part of me feels missing when ever I dont here you say "RUclips jazz" haha. Only a minute and a half in ;)
