Credit to Grace for doing her research first. She was all using the correct terminology. She recognised shrinkage, used water, finger deranged and loads of conditioner. She fell apart at the styling stage. Too much watching RUclips type 3 hair pretending they are type 4. But kudos to Grace.

In my opinion, she accomplished the hardest part. She detangled, twisted (and twisted WELL), and she smoothed out the ends. I had a feeling she would do better than people expected, but damn.
Most importantly, she was being very gentle and not complaining about type 4 hair being "so hard" or "too much" like many non-textured hair people talk about textured hair. This video was great

Grace did what all of us did when we were first learning how to execute our twists outs and braid outs. We all start with good intentions, sleep in our bonnet, do-rag, condition and moisturize; and then we take it out and have to gather all or self-love when the twist out looks like a very scary thing .. halp. And then we make changes accordingly.. she tried, we all tried lmao -- except when its your head you finally get how to do it

And on this day, I died in TJ Maxx. My body is laying between the body scrub rack and the foam roller display. Also, my throat ruptured from trying not to laugh the place down but my efforts were futile: I scared 3 old ladies, made an infant start wailing, and got an angry growl from a pocket pooch. As I type my final words I rate the video an overall 5 out of 5 and the final hairstyle a solid -2 out of 5. Grace you did that tho, bruh! Love you guys!

Grace gets an A from me for technique and R&D! I could tell she was really passionate about trying to get it right, and this is why i love this channel. We need more embracing of one another's differences. Plus, most of us with natural curly hair have failed at our first styled attempt. I think a follow up video trying again based on the outcomes would be cool

The struggle that Grace had styling Evelyn's hair was the struggle that I had the entire first year of being natural. You follow the steps, expect a bomb twist out. It's trash. You try to redeem your failed twist out and style your hair and its trash. If Grace's next step was pick up a head wrap, she would have got a black card. IDK.

Honestly, we all have had that moment of fear when we take our twist out and its kinda jacked up and we gotta figure out how to do some damage control. it takes years of practice to figure out how to make it work without the use of a scarf or any accessory, and it was probably grace's first time so i get it. she gets B in my book.
