Like many others, I think that changing our relationship with consumerism can help a lot with the struggles that Africa faces with exploitation of minerals. For example, I don’t buy or ask for diamonds, I am not buying new electronics or even upgrading my transportation unless I have to, and even then I will buy used only to not contribute as much to supply chain.
The sad part is colonialism and neo-colonialism is so deep that it is going to take generations to really resolve this once and for all. However the good thing is with each generation there is a breakthrough. So all we can do is use our gifts and share it.
Amazing podcast but she lost me about the Christian religion because what many people don’t know is that major figures in the Bible including Jesus was actually black. Revelation 1:14-15 “ 14] His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; [15] And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.” The oldest depiction of Jesus and his disciples are actually located in Ethiopia where it showed him and the disciples having dark skin. I personally don’t know any other race of people with hair like wool even in Daniel 7:9 - “I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.” depicted how God looked a little. Even back in the Biblical times, there’s no way that white people could withstand the whether/elements like melanated people could. Even though the colonizers shoved the white depiction of Jesus in our faces they hide the truth by turning our black savior into a white savior so we (black people) can look at them (white people) as our saviors. But nobody wants to have that convo ☕️🫖.
You mentioned a lot of stuff that I wanted to comment on. But I listened to the audio version while driving so I couldn't comment in time. But when you mention the food that the white slave masters didn't like that we repursposed and made amazing. You forgot to mention the 2 biggest examples of ribs and wings.
@IN MY OPINION PODCAST...those guy saying there is no light in nigerian are lying and wrong list in nigeria depend on your locarion my area Ikeja GRA we have light all the time and you cant seat there and tell me bodly that every area locality in africa have gotten light it always depend on your area
That woman knows nothing about Islam. I'm tanzanian and Muslim Islam forbade slavery and encouraged setting people free since at that time Arabs had slave the entire world did black people were mistreated and considered subhuman or under every other race and calling it Islamic slave trade is BS .
Exactly , and arabs means people of the desert or people who love in the desert they were black or colored people not the nowadays light skine people who we all call arabs. It pissed me off hear arab Muslims slavery. It's just Arab slavery. Wish they found personn of knowledge to talk about it not a random person with no knowledge about the case
No it has nothing to do with Islam, our religion is against that but it’s associated with it cos some of those ppl used the name of our religion as an excuse to do that and “spread the religion” but they had other intentions.
