I can't actually believe that a video game movie FINALLY took it's inspiration directly from the source material. It's like a wonderful dream, now all I need to do is not die before it comes out.

@Corlwow Actually I think that it's Gregory Edgeworth. See his defense attorney's badge? Also, based on the previews, it looks like they cut the tutorial case and the Steel Samuari case as well.
well in the game, instead of lethal injection and other ways to sentence criminals to the death row. They are mostly sentence to be hang (but that method is like year 1800s).

I saw Auchi (Payne) even though they don't mention the first case. I saw the Polly the parrot. I still think the woman in black is Dee Vasquez, even though they seem to neglect mentioning the third case. Steel Samurai inflatable.
The one thing that they haven't shown that I really hope they have is the music. At least some remixes. And Oldbag.
The movie is 2 hours long i think and yes the cases are in one movie, a few minor tweaks though only to make it movie length. Overall a good movie :) Stuck with the game but just a few minor alterations where u wont even notice.

You're forgetting that Gyakuten Saiban is different from Ace Attorney. In AA, a lot of things were changed to make more sense for the english speaking players like names and origin. The Von Karmas surname was just "Karuma" since there is no proper japanese word forKarma.
And about the CGI, you're also forgetting that it's set in the future. Back in the 90s they thought that holograms would exist in 2016, and you can't really expect them to carry huge things like statues in their pockets can you?

@Andrew0David hmm so i see, however the case with the steel samurai and dee vasquez is said to be very early on and is used as a debut of edgeworth convicting her to show how awesome a prosecutor he is. (so maybe the case will be hinted at there but no more =))
Would love to see Takashi Miike tackle later games, specifically the Dahlia story arc in the third game ... who am I kidding, I just wanna see how he'd do the Psyche Locks.

just read the story on court records, theyve actually changed the story quite a lot. I guess it will work better in film then the games would. Still think it would be good as a tv series too though as it would be easier to keep to the original
In the japanese version of the game, it's set in japan.
I thought this would be cheesy, but my God it looks really well done. I can't wait. ^-^

@GhosX9 According to the credits, '2012Spark' by Porno Graffitti. It's gonna be a new song specifically for the movie, so I'm guessing the single will come out when the movie does -- i.e. not for a couple months yet. :/

Okay, that Steel Samurai balloon was AMAZING!...Gosh, I want to watch this movie! (but it's all because of the Steel Samurai balloon)...as for the actors n movie...well,i hope it'll be as great as the game...

When this turns out to be succesful, maybe Uwe Boll will jump on it again, to remake it with Americans in the starring roles, screwing up as he usually does. I am not sure yet if I would want Capcom to restrain him from it or have a good laugh on on yet another failure...

hmm, so it looks like they have changed it splitting case 4 into two parts, so i guess hes defending yanni yogi in the last part from what the guy said. I guess theyre trying to work some of the steel samurai in there too. I thought the whole thing would be there, but according to the case list, there doesnt seem to be a steel samurai case.
I want that sound effect that starts at 1:06.
I'm really curious how they are going to fit so many cases in under 2 hours. I'm hoping they pull it off but I'm not sure... Heres hoping for the best!

though some of the characters are smaller and minor things changed, it still looks great. Why? Because most anime/game to live action adaptions have been 'forced' to be as close to realism as much as possible. The only way for this movie to have made sense would to have added a bit of game elements. (Holograms kinda equal to the interface for evidence and such on the games). And im actually having high hopes for this movie because Takashi miike seems to understand the fans.
At 1:13 there is Apollo, or atleast someone who looks like him.

Wow, I'm surprised how devoted Takashi Mikke is to capuring all the weird, eccentric looks of the characters! It's hard when something is so stylized and toony, prime example being Dragon Ball Z which was a travesty what Hollywood did to. I don't know if it's just too zany to get AAPW to film but I like the devotion to sticking to the source material. A real far cry from stuff like the Mario Bros. or Street Fighter movies from the 80's
I'm somewhat confused as to what is Dee Vazques going to do in the movie... the Steel Samurai case does not appear! Any ideas?? And... I want April May in this film NOWWW!

@orwell9788 Its because Hollywood is NOT doing this movie....Takashi Mikke is more willing to follow the source material, and based on his past works this could work. Hollywood wants to change things but tends to mostly mess it up in the process, like what they are doing with the live action Akira movie...

I'm bittersweet about that, I know the AA series is a japanese series (obviously) but the characters in the game are far more american looking than japanese... either way, I'd watch this but considering it's just the first game I'd already know everything T_T
