I got to say 1/4" is one of my most favorite materials to work with. The little details you're working in is awesome. Blacksmithing is an art and it's always interesting to see an artist at work. I had a similar idea for a brooch I was going to make for my wife.

Beautiful! You make it look easy to get that pretty twisted pattern in both sides, but I’ll bet it’s harder than it looks.
