I guess by now you know how the inner cover is suppose to go... when changing out frames...depending on the strength of bees....I look until I find the Queen on a frame....then chose any other frame to transfer...bees and brood to the weak hive....place them in the middle of the hive frames...place honey frames on the outside....
I caught a big swarm on Mother's Day. filled my whole hive boxes frames to the brim! I already got another hive box on because there was pre drawn comb and they are progressing really fast. I came outside and heard a big buzzing, went to my hive, and thousands of bees going in! I'm a new bee keeper and this looks really fun.
4dhoneybee 1 you have it upside down, that's why you get so much comb on your lid and top of bars. Note the difference of depth on your inner cover. The one with the entrance is thicker and disobeys bee space. The opening side is primarily made for winter when they aren't drawing out frames and need an upper entance.

4dhoneybee 1 i didn't. They went and found my hive that was set up. Im lucky lol. Saw about 20 scout bees on it and they got the hive over to it.
All in about 30 minutes from finding it to getting inside.
4dhoneybee 1 by the way do you have the same race of bees in all hives? If you have Italian bees in the hives they sometimes rob weak hives.

Great video. I do this all the time with weak hives to get them strong until I can get a new queen installed if needed.

The bees that are on brood are nurse bees. They are ok to move to New hive.

Agreed Kris, but if you accidentally move foragers, there is a risk that they'll ball up the queen.

Came in the Nuc I bought so far no complaints but it does bend and torque more than wood when they are propolozed.
As soon as the bees were taken to be managed the control part is now determined by the manager.
Interesting. We control a certain degree but I believe niche is beyond our control.
You need to put that brood frame more in the middle so more bees will be on it. It didn't look like you had as many bees on that end.

yes there is ventilation. hot air goes into inner cover hole and out the notch in the inner cover.
