I love in Chambersburg pa ..I drive to key west atleast once a year. Stopping at St Augustine for a few days to cut the drive down some.. I lived in FT Lauderdale for about 2 years and I visited the keys as much as I could. Absolutely love it! Always finding new things when I go as well.

Regardless, there's a lot about Key West many of us Floridians do not approve of, similar to how many locals from New Orleans do not approve of much of what goes on in the French Quarter. Sad, because both locations offer plenty as it is without having to sell out to debauchery.

I worked on a cruiseship as a photographer since 2006 and this is one of our port of call, its sad to see keywest without much people and some establishment already closed, i had a lot of good memories there, thanks for showing me how it is now during Covid.

@@kathysheeran6589 All four times we have stayed somewhere different. All were in Old Towne as we wanted to be within walking distance to Duval Street. First time was at Silver Palms Inn on Truman - Nice but had to walk several blocks in the heat to get to Duval Street. Second time we stayed at Casablanca Inn and the third time we stayed at the Duval House (both are directly on Duval Street and right in the center so walking in either direction was easy). We had balcony rooms that faced Duval - highly recommend both places! This last trip 2 weeks ago, we splurged and stayed at the Ocean Key Resort at the very end of Duval Street and next door to Mallory Square. It was the best! Pricey but we felt worth it for the location. Loved their pool with a water view too. I hope this helps and enjoy!

Thanks. Great video. I used to live in Marathon and visited Key West frequently. I remember all the businesses would leave their doors wide open so you'd get a blast of air conditioning as you passed by. It's nice to see it again.
I moved down to hollywood fl. Back in 1988 and I feel blessed to have made 5 trips to key west over my lifetime. I would live down there if I could! ❤️

There was a time when Key West was beautiful, gentle and very bohemian. Some days fewer than 100 might turn up to watch the sunset, get stoned and applaud. Today it’s an open-air mall selling tat.
I haven't seen anything of Duval Street since I was transferred to Maryland for school in 1962 after nearly 4 years aboard a sub and sub tender. I arrived there in mid-summer 1958. I only recognized Sloppy Joes in your video and nothing else. Wow. Thanks much for your video. It was quite entertaining in a rather odd fashion for me. ;-)
Just left on Sunday Apr 4th and it is a very cool place to visit. I plan to come back every year. The weather was nice sunny windy cool in the evenings and mornings. Beautiful homes roosters everywhere free transportation all day til 10pm called the duval loop. Across between st Augustine and New Orleans

My wife and I would spend a week in Key West every year for 15 years love it. Louis’ Backyard, Latitudes are a must if you have the time and money. La-Te-Da for a great drag show. Pepe’s on Caroline for great breakfast and Screwdriver. Take a sunset cruise.

@Patriotic Dandelions It must of been awesome. I`ve been to Havana on a couple of day trips. I have stayed in Varadero beach 3 times for two weeks each time and from Varadero did day trips to Havana. As a Canadian we are lucky there`s no restrictions for us to vacation in Cuba. To tell you the truth my absolute favourite place to go on Winter vacations is Costa Rica. I`ve been to Costa Rica 9 times for 2 weeks each time. I would of gone there this Winter except for the pandemic.

I am from England but lived in Key West from 2004 to 2012. Beautiful place to live. You are right about the open container law except homeless get arrested for it and taken to jail. Tourists are fine to drink on the streets
Did a day trip to KW from Ft. Lauderdale 2 years ago. Tour only spent a few hours there but we knew we wanted to come back. Got our vaccinations and we'll be heading down for 4 nights at the end of May. Hilton Reach. Only natural beach on the island. From Norristown, Pa.
OK I just watched you walk past Jimmy Buffett`s store a while ago .He has a bar and restaurant in Key West too. You can buy a Cheeseburger in Paradise.

The Key West Municipal Code, § 18-87 prohibits open containers of alcoholic beverages in public. ... However, should you find yourself confronted by local law enforcement regarding an open container of an alcoholic beverage, be polite, and the most likely outcome is a warning and a directive to throw away your drink. Plastic Cups are fine and you will not get hassled for it .If you have a glass bottle you can be cited but usually they tell you to dispose of it. Beer cans are usually put in brown bags when you get them at the store .
