Bruxish will forever be iconic just for the fact she makes so many people mad, many say shes ugly because of the lips or the teeth but honestly if she just had one of those or neither of them she would look very bland Her concept is really unique too with the whole psychedelic look that justifies her psychic typing and recently I saw a fanmade evolution that turned her into a mermaid and it really made me understand her concept more because mermaids make themselves beautiful through illusions to attract humans, just like bruxish does with her psychic powers, which is also where her little flower comes in play, so she's not supposed to be 100% pretty like the other girls, she also needs to look a bit fierce/scary (Just went back and saw the fanmade evolution and the actual evolution is a scary looking angler fish but the mermaid is the illusion it creates, using that concept of real mermaids being ugly/scary and are just beautiful through illusions)

primarina will always be special to me. they wanted a fairy type starter at the time since it was new and gave us HER. i feel so represented by primarina + fairy types and i love how she and sylveon really solidified what they wanted the type to be. i hope they give us even more fairy/mother starters to represent us and spite everyone that hates on the dolls !
honestly I always ADORED Gorebyss because of how it looks sweet & unassuming form the surface but if you take a look at her Pokedex entries you find out that she's a bloodsucking monster and probably one of the more horrifying pokemon out there. 9:01 i’ve talked about this before and no one sees or gets it. there are 2 versions of every game the warm game “for the boys” and cool game “for the girls” and their respective box art legend also falls into those categories too (with one/two exceptions): -warm game (for the boys): gold, ruby, platinum, white, y, sun, shield, and scarlet -cool game (for the girls): silver, sapphire, diamond, black, x, moon, sword, and violet
As an aside I remember hearing somewhere that the B/W legendaries subvert the yin and yang they're based on, Zekrom (yin=black=feminine) is very masculine and Reshiram (yang=white=masculine) is very feminine, so the box legendaries still cater to the "for the boys/for the girls" idea

This was a really neat video! I had not heard of girlypop before, and I don't think its my aesthetic, but i think i understand it now because of how well you explained your thoughts. I think its so cool that Pokemon can have these different appeals, and be seen through different lenses. All of your rankings made sense, and i appreciate how you didn't talk down on Pokemon for not being girlypop, even suggesting other vibes for them, and always trying to see the best in them.

My main team is comprised of 5 mother-tier fairy types and then a single seismitoad. Her name is Toaditha and she is a beloved member that balances out the team :D (Fun fact: In the shield Pokédex entry it is revealed that seismitoad’s vibrations are used for therapeutic purposes for the elderly. Gotta love a caring girlie who helps muscles and circulation)
For anyone curious, my team is (gen 8): -Clefairy (main Pokémon) -Primarina -Sylveon -Gardevoir -Mimikiyu -Seismitoad I usually do fairy only teams with maybe a psychic or 2 (Munna is a common addition) but idk I just love my weird toad gal. It’s not even a case of catching a tympole and sticking with it, I caught it fully evolved.

9:01 i’ve talked about this before and no one sees or gets it. there are 2 versions of every game the warm game “for the boys” and cool game “for the girls” and their respective box art legend also falls into those categories too (with one/two exceptions):
-warm game (for the boys): gold, ruby, platinum, white, y, sun, shield, and scarlet
-cool game (for the girls): silver, sapphire, diamond, black, x, moon, sword, and violet
As an aside I remember hearing somewhere that the B/W legendaries subvert the yin and yang they're based on, Zekrom (yin=black=feminine) is very masculine and Reshiram (yang=white=masculine) is very feminine, so the box legendaries still cater to the "for the boys/for the girls" idea

This was a really neat video! I had not heard of girlypop before, and I don't think its my aesthetic, but i think i understand it now because of how well you explained your thoughts. I think its so cool that Pokemon can have these different appeals, and be seen through different lenses. All of your rankings made sense, and i appreciate how you didn't talk down on Pokemon for not being girlypop, even suggesting other vibes for them, and always trying to see the best in them.
btw, despite most of my favorites being "skip", I've always liked Bruxish, but didn't have the vocabulary to explain why. So, thanks for that! She is mother.

My main team is comprised of 5 mother-tier fairy types and then a single seismitoad. Her name is Toaditha and she is a beloved member that balances out the team :D (Fun fact: In the shield Pokédex entry it is revealed that seismitoad’s vibrations are used for therapeutic purposes for the elderly. Gotta love a caring girlie who helps muscles and circulation)
For anyone curious, my team is (gen 8):
-Clefairy (main Pokémon)
-Primarina
-Sylveon

-Mimikiyu
-Seismitoad
I usually do fairy only teams with maybe a psychic or 2 (Munna is a common addition) but idk I just love my weird toad gal. It’s not even a case of catching a tympole and sticking with it, I caught it fully evolved.
This series brings me so much joy I love showing you to my friends and having it in the background while we parallel play 🥰
